  1. I think the NFL would be wise to remove all the "safety" related fouls from the field of play. Then after the game is completed start having reviews of safety via video. Start assigning safety scores to player that ultimately escalate into fines, suspensions etc. Just throw the flag in blatant situations. One more emphasis of rules by refs just make them look incompetent and the league is fixed.
  2. They have plenty of mouths to feed on that offense. Mixon was near top 5 in receiving yards this year despite his time missing and being surrounded by Chase, Higgin, Boyd, Hurst, and Perine. They shouldn't cut a player that counter balances the cover 2 looks they see. Just because ZT doesn't have to over load him carries and targets doesn't make him worth cutting. They will or at least hope will bring back the the entire core 10 on that offense, with hopefully only having to address RT. This stupid stuff about Mixon or Boyd or whoever represents cap savings is for the birds They are $44m under. You don't need to look for cap room until the summer, by then we'll know if they draft a RB or whoever to start replacing vets.
  3. OK.
  4. DJ absolute winners for those interested in Secondary: Brown has received praise from several sources as well.
  5. DJ absolute winner for those interested in edge rusher: McDonald a little undersized.
  6. DJ absolute winners: Those interested in LBs Note: This guy has gotten praise by several other sources too.
  7. it was established opposing teams play a shit load of Cover 2 vs. Burrow/Chase. Mixon can catch and get YAC. That's all I need right now. Any individual player with this surrounding cast is going to have their individual numbers shaved. To think Mixon could not go to a run oriented offense and churn out better numbers is crazy talk. There would be a nice market for Mixon if they cut him. The litmus test is to picture him in Baltimore. I would not want to see that. Same with any talk about cutting Boyd. Any offseason talk about cutting this "player" to save this "number" is a waste of time. The Bengals have built up a strategic advantage with their cap room there's no need to consider any of it until they absolutely need the cap room or have successfully replaced the player being $44m under they aren't going to up against the cap until summer, if that.
  8. Sure. I'm sure there wouldn't be a bit of hesitation sending him to the Ravens? A run oriented team with a better oline.
  9. For those looking to repeat Volson.
  10. More Tackle Talk:
  11. DB talk:
  12. For those interested in Punter.
  13. There's not much to consider with Mixon until you have a replacement or need his cap dollars. At this point neither is an issue. I would say the goal for 2023 season would be to return everyone off that offense. If they grab an upgrade via the draft/FA then there is something to consider.
  14. Why are so many Bengal fan eager to help some other team out with their RB problem? A whole bunch of fans are focused on Mixon's cap hit. Why would you cut a productive player and create a hole then gift another team an opportunity to fill a hole, before the draft? Does not make sense. They are $44m under they can sign/extend anyone they want when FA opens.
  15. A I could see that because I sure the lessens the amount of money the Brown family has to set aside to cover the guarantees.
  16. It depends on how it gets structured. If it follows the structure of Mahomes and Murray; Joe will have 2 years of low cap hits with growth in year 3 and 4. Right now the cap is $224 and most think $18m to $20m annual growth will be achieved on a path to $300m. They are looking at a cap of $260-$285 by the time those year 3/4 hits kick in. Which means his deal is probably taking up the same percentage amount as Dalton's deal did.
  17. Isaiah Prince can be removed for the RT derby. Bengals did not sign him to futures contract and Broncos signed him.
  18. Those intrested in DBs. Could be a CB or S fit.
  19. Burrow is set to get $5m this year while costing $11m against the cap. The 5th year option is projected at $19.6. I would guess the structure is going to get Joe a helluva lot more than $24m the next two years while the cap hits won't differ drastically than this year and the option year. Kyler Murray's deal got him $30m 2022 while counting $12.6m against the cap. Gets him $39m 2023 while counting $16.0, then another $39m while count $51.2m against the cap.
  20. Its going to seem like forever until free agency starts. I don't think Bengals are going to dive into the FA market for OL. I expect RT to be the big ? entering TC. Hopefully they have a decent draft pick out there competing with Carman, Adeniji. I think Collins will be a black hole so I expect Collins to be moving on.
  21. For those interested in Right Tackles: Dawand Jones - OSU. Started RT the past two years. Got some snaps at LT the two years prior. He is mentioned by a few as making a positive impression on Day 1 of Senior Bowl practices. The only bad news is Tomlin was front and center for the reps and they rumored to be interested.
  22. Big fan of Tom Brady. Otherwise the Ravens and Steelers would have had more Superbowls.
  23. Payton to Denver hopefully makes the AFC West tougher. The Chiefs have run up a 27-3 record vs AFC West opponents since 2015. That's been their key to hosting AFC Champ every year. In the AFC North it seems like most years the champ of the division has at least 1 division loss and maybe 2.
  24. I agree. I would rather a RT too. I think 2024 is a tough extension for Jonah. So there is room, IMO, to take the best available tackle irrespective of Left or Right. Adeniji to me is not a high quality starter. Carman while surprising in the playoffs, I still wouldn't trust him without seeing more snaps but I think he'll factor in somewhere for a TC competition. Collins is a big question mark, I wouldn't count on him at all. Going into 2024, I think they have to nail a tackle pick this year 2023. Then maybe/hopefully continue to get a surprise from Carman. But you can't go into 2024 with starting LT entering FA and question marks at RT. That's a tough off season.
