  1. If this year goes like past years, then we will see Burrow improve substantially over the next couple of games. The same ought to be true for the offensive line, which had a rookie making his first start and a guy who just signed with the team a few days ago inserted due to injury. Nowhere to go but up with this group.
  2. Stewart with the second best pass rush win rate among all rookie dl this week. https://www.cincyjungle.com/cincinnati-bengals-analysis/174246/shemar-stewart-2nd-best-pass-rush-win-rate-rookie-dls
  3. Joe had a bad day but I think it's worth noting it was also his best opening day since the Minnesota game in 2021. In the three openers after he posted QB ratings of 61.7, 52.2 and 75.2. Yesterday he hit 87.8. So even if he wasn't Joey Brrrr yesterday, it seems like the effort to bang more of the rust off in preseason paid some dividends.
  4. No matter what happens tonight, Bengals will finish week 1 on top of the ACFN. 1-0 overall 1-0 in the division 1-0 in the conference Best possible start. In the AFC only the Chargers can say the same.
  5. Yah we need all the healthy oline we can get. Just noting this because while I was not on the “RG is a disaster we need to sign Risner stat” bandwagon, props to those who were, we needed the guy and he came through. fun fact from cbs sports: This marked the first time in 55 years that the Bengals were able to win a game where they were held under 150 yards. Damn. 1970.
  6. From pff: Risner surrendered just one pressure — a hurry on that three-sack series — across 24 pass-blocking snaps. Only once did a Bengals guard earn an 80.0-plus PFF pass-blocking grade in a game last season. In one game this season, Risner has matched that (80.5), pending reviews. Cincinnati’s run blocking left much to be desired, which will likely tank Risner’s PFF overall grade, but his ability to protect elite quarterback Joe Burrow was already apparent in Week 1.
  7. Stewart and Ossai also both caused the throw Battle picked. Ossai put the pressure on and forced Flacco to step up and Stewart hit his elbow as he threw. On the postgame vid with goodberry jake said pff had Stewart as todays no. 3 overall defender in their early ratings, have to see how that shakes out when they go back over the film.
  8. Best way I can put it is that it’s a processing issue. Great example today, which goodberry pointed out on his postgame vid with jake: on the TD to fant, fant is wide open from the snap. Swesinger fully bites from the get-go. Ball should have been out instantly…and Joe still takes three steps before he finally throws. He’s just not processing at full speed yet, it’s like it takes a game for the football chip in his head to warm up.
  9. Oh, it’s a big deal, especially with Pitt pulling out the win by 2 points. But yeah, make no mistake: this was a gift. Even with unexpectedly decent defensive player, they lose if the browns have a guy who can make routine kicks. Bottom line, this does not look like a playoff caliber team at all. They were gifted time today to fix that but better get to it quick.
  10. I would like to give a special shout out to today’s MVP, the Cleveland Browns kicker. Defense, I take it all back. You are the 85 Bears reincarnated. Offense, donate your game checks to charity. None of you deserve a dime for this performance.
  11. Taylor gets a week 1 win no thanks to Taylor.
  12. MARVINBALL HAS RETURNED
  13. Not done yet still a chance for the o to blow it
  14. DEFENSE SAVES THE DAY
  15. This offense has no balls at all
  16. Lmao our best offensive player is the browns kicker
  17. Correction they have one left
  18. TOs gone this is ridiculous
  19. Alright you overpaid a$$holes time for some points.
