  1. Run, run, pass, punt. Boy does that take me back.
  2. Ball was tipped but still probably should have just slid.
  3. Things are bound to be janky with the qb change so a loss would not shock me or anything. The one silver lining in that case is that it’s a non-conference game. They don’t have the margin for many L’s but the NFC games are the least harmful ones. All that said I think they pull this one out.
  4. Shemar out CTB doubtful Turner questionable Nice of the secondary to go so easy on Wentz.
  5. Stewart still DNP. CTB also downgraded to DNP. Apparently was not present today. Wilson ungraded to full. Fairchild full. DJ Turner (hammy) added. Was limited.
  6. Over at cbs Breech games out the rest of the season and comes up at 9-8. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/can-the-2-0-bengals-survive-joe-burrows-injury-predicting-how-their-schedule-plays-out-over-final-15-weeks/ tl;dr he has them winning most of the winnable games but not being able to beat any of the good teams (tho he does give them a split with Pitt). That would suck but also is a scenario I can very easily see happening.
  7. I think it depends on the nature of Browning’s run. They have 2 wins now and the rest of the schedule includes a banged up Vikings team, Jets, Bears, Pats, Fins, Cards and Cleveland again at home. Even with Jake those are winnable games. Then you have the Lions, Packers, Broncos, Bills, plus Pitt and Baltimore x2 each. That’s 8 games against real teams (ok I don’t know if Pitt is real this year but those games are always tough) and it’s not hard to come up with as many L’s. So if they make the playoffs, how did they do it? Did they just mostly feast on average to poor teams? If so they are probably one and done in the playoffs so if Joe is available, put him in. Or did Jake show he can beat good teams? In that case, ride or die with Browning.
  8. Good read from Weintraub. I pretty much agree with everything. https://www.cincinnatimagazine.com/article/the-bengals-take-one-step-up-a-gazillion-steps-back/
  9. Wednesday injury report: DNP Stewart (ankle) Limited CTB (hammy), Logan Wilson (ankle) Full Fairchild (shoulder)
  10. Vikes put starting RB Aaron Jones on IR, so he's definitely out. Signed Cam Akers to their PS. https://purpleptsd.com/2025/vikings/top_news/second-vikings-starter-ir/
  11. Vikes sign Ridder.
  12. If I am in Taylor's shoes, I think you have to play it like he's done for the year. The mentality shouldn't be, "Jake has to hold down the fort until Joe returns," it needs to be "Jake is our starting QB for 2025."
  13. On the Minny side, looking like they will be down their starting qb, rb and c, and may be starting their third string LT. if the d can’t feast here time to fire golden.
  14. All the qb moves are official. Burrow officially to IR. WR Kendrick Pryor returns to the ps. https://www.bengals.com/news/joe-burrow-injured-reserve-brett-rypien-mike-white
  15. Rypien signed to the 53. https://www.cincyjungle.com/cincinnati-bengals-news/175027/brett-rypien-53-man-roster-mike-white-sean-clifford-practice-squad
  16. Thanks. I did watch through the highlights reel this morning and one thing I was watching was the d line. Looked like they actually got good push and penetration on the Jags’ oline multiple times but kept stumbling, tripping over each other or other comical 3 stooges stuff. (Watch the Tuten td for one such moment, as a Jags oline man stops two rushers up the middle by throwing a third bengal on the ground in front of them that they both trip over.) that’s correctable with time, new scheme growing pains imo.
  17. The more, the merrier!
  18. Bengals signing former Packers QB Sean Clifford to the taxi squad, per schefty.
  19. We've seen an endless parade of QBs in Cincy across the years. I would put Browning in the same bracket as guys like Kitna or even Dalton: mid-tier types who can win if they have talent around them. And there is definitely no lack of talent around Browning. If the combination of Dalton and McCarron can get 12 wins in 2015 with Green, Jones, Sanu, Eifert, and Hill, I see no reason Browning can't get some W's with Chase, Higgins, Gesicki and Brown, among others. It will definitely be interesting to watch.
  20. Panthers sign Njongmeta off the ps.
  21. Per Taylor, Shemar is doubtful for Sunday.
  22. Text of a tweet from PFF's Timo Riske: Bengals OL combined pass blocking grade yesterday w/ Joe Burrow in the field yesterday: 49.9 w/ Jake Browning on the field: 73.1 In 2023 in was 67.2 with Browning and 54.6 with Burrow It's a weird paradox that Burrow is much better, but his play comes with diminished returns, because the Bengals OL just can't deal with his offense. Will be interesting to see how Zac Taylor can adjust this time over a long time of 3 months.
  23. Believe me, I get it. It's all I've seen today online. Season is over, Bengals FO sucks, oline sucks, Burrow has been wasted, time to tank for a top pick, yada yadda yadda. I don't blame anyone for bailing. That said, my response is, fuk that noise. If they're gonna ride or die with Jake, I'm on board the bus.
  24. Yeah, that was 2005 IIRC. Great line. But to greg's point, yeah it could just be that Joe is snakebit. It's not like he was taking some historic pounding. He was sacked 5 times against Cleveland and Jax. Other QBs with 5 sacks on the year are Lamar and Russell Wilson. Eight QBs have been dropped 6+ times, including Rodgers. Poor Cam Ward has been sacked 11 times, so he might be dead by week 17. Another 8 QBs have 4 sacks, including Mahomes, Stafford and Flacco. Bottom line, 19/32 QBs have 4+ sacks, including Burrow with 5. He was not getting especially beat up.
