  1. All the noobs are signed. https://www.bengals.com/news/2023-bengals-draft-class-signings
  2. Couple interesting notes: Bengals have the least travel miles of any team this year, 11,942. Hags have the most at 31,600. Bengals reportedly offered to play Black Friday and make it annual tradition like Detroit and Dallas on Thanksgiving. League passed.
  3. Nope, good catch, that’s another one. We play Pitt, followed by Bill-Chargers that day.
  4. Here it is: https://www.bengals.com/news/cincinnati-bengals-2023-schedule-tickets-information Two Monday, one Thursday, four 4 pm games. Plus the Saturday NYE game against KC. Week 7 bye.
  5. So the season opener has been announced: Lions @ Chiefs. Meh.
  6. Yeah, right now I would expect at least half their games to be in prime time or the 425 “national” spot. I might have to spring for one of those digital converter antennas…
  7. Week 17: Bengals @ Chiefs https://www.bengals.com/news/cincinnati-bengals-2023-schedule-week-17-kansas-city-chiefs-joe-burrow
  8. Here’s the international slate. None for us. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2023/05/10/nfl-announces-five-games-2023-international-series/70202453007/
  9. All right, they finally got their act together.
  10. Christmas tripleheader? Yeah, you read that right.
  11. League still dicking around with the schedule.
  12. Years ago there was a “life after football” thing done, I don’t remember if it was nfl or ESPN or someone else, featuring Jerome Bettis. If I recall correctly it was only a couple years after he retired. They had a scene of him getting out of bed and it was like watching an 80 year old move. Every joint in his lower body was just shot. I think that was the first time the extent to which these guys were literally destroying themselves for my entertainment hit me. I will never blame anybody who chooses an “early” retirement from this sport.
  13. Lol so true…
  14. Yeah, that’s fine, this seems to have become the tackle thread. Thanks for the update. I’m glad Jonah’s knee and butt are feeling better.
  15. All I know is he stunk up here (Chicago) and the Bears ate $500k in dead money to dump him. He did have injury issues tho so I guess we’ll see.
  16. There’s a little fan boomlet going on for Carson Wentz, apparently. They could do worse imo.
  17. Show me where I said they should have reached for a TE. Spoiler: I didn’t. I said they could have been more proactive and accumulated picks to take one, which is exactly what Potts said they hoped to do going into the draft. They had multiple opportunities to do so, but decided not to each time. Well, we’re going to find out if it was the right call soon enough.
  18. Well, looks like we won’t have Brandon Allen to kick around anymore. Off to San Fran. https://www.si.com/nfl/bengals/news/report-former-bengals-qb-brandon-allen-signing-with-san-francisco-49ers
  19. I said absolutely none of this, but feel free to keep putting words I didn’t say in my mouth.
  20. Hobs has an interview with Mike Potts, head of college scouting. Worth a read. https://www.bengals.com/news/scouting-bengals-draft-we-let-our-board-speak-to-us One thing that popped out at me was that he confirms they had trade offers all through the first four rounds, and only took the one little drop back with the Chiefs. They had 7-8 offers at 28. They were just that high on Murphy, Turner and Battle. So, no pressure, but there will be no shortage of second-guessing if any of these dudes bust. Also talks a bit about TE, says there were guys they liked but there were always other guys available they liked more. The obvious rejoinder is, well, you could have been proactive and traded to get a guy instead of sitting around, but of course we all know that’s really not their bag.
  21. Probably just that they know what they got in Adeniji. Makes sense to see if anything has changed for Carman first.
  22. Yeah, it will probably become this years version of Housh’s hammy, which magically flared up every time he was asked to do something he didn’t want to do.
  23. Yeah, I believe Zac said Carman is getting the first shot because Jonah is rehabbing, which is 100% to be expected imo. And it’s also why I don’t think there’s much chance of moving Jonah right now. Who is going to trade for a player with a $12 million fully guaranteed deal who status is up in the air due to injury?
  24. Ding, we have a winner. We just had a draft loaded with TE talent. That will inevitably push veteran guys off rosters this summer. There will be options if they’re interested.
  25. A bit of an addendum to this pick: Kelsey Conway apparently talked to Ossai today. You might recall he was dealing with knee and labrum injuries (and had surgery for the latter) after the season. He’ll miss the offseason program due to ongoing rehab work. Says he “should” be available opening day.
