Its at least a C & trending better.
So, just to be clear, a D is "f**king stupid" but a C is just right?
I submit that it is possible that your sense of proportion may need some slight adjustment.

You want the grading scale to be linear? Regardless, I think both grades are low. I give the pick a B minus. True he was useless for a couple years, but he got the job done last year. And tackles are getting harder and harder to find. For example, his draft mate Oher over in Baltimore is trending towards barely a starter, possible backup if they can find anyone to play in front of him. Meanwhile the skin zepplin is climbin' that mountain! Smith is better, now, today, in season 2012. My grade is based on where he sits now.
Also, I don't agree with all those Fs for the late rounders. A total miss in those rounds is not unusual. If you can get a couple seasons of backup/special teams out of a 6th rounder, that is like a B.

Alcohol isn't Rey's only problem. I think he's pretty limited between the years. Zimmer hung onto Dhani way past his expiration date, just because Dhani could read offenses and make the right calls. I think physically Rey was ready, but Zimmer didn't have faith in him on the mental side.

He's an alcoholic. He's been through treatment and was sober for a while, but apparently he's off the wagon. Hopefully this will be a bit of a wakeup for him. One other thought: it can't feel too good to get punched by an NFL linebacker.

I go mainly by how far they can throw the javelin.

Here's an updated list with all the teams: http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_football_dolphins/2012/02/nfl-salary-cap-projections-for-2012-season.html
POSSIBLE BIG SPENDERSTeams that have the cap space to make big moves in free agency.
Cincinnati Bengals $80,641,237
Tennessee Titans $92,739,765
Washington Redskins $94,351,284
Kansas City Chiefs $95,844,195
Tampa Bay Buccaneers $98,899,458
Atlanta Falcons $100,227,174
Denver Broncos $101,389,121
New England Patriots $101,827,381
Chicago Bears $101,887,741
San Francisco 49ers $102,938,980
Cleveland Browns $103,789,162
WORKING ON A BUDGET
Teams that aren’t up against the cap, but need to make smart moves to avoid trimming a ton of players and salaries.
Jacksonville Jaguars $107,270,274
Buffalo Bills $108,426,522
Seattle Seahawks $111,742,430
San Diego Chargers $111,960,165
New Orleans Saints $113,358,069
Philadelphia Eagles $113,964,694
Baltimore Ravens $115,670,281
Minnesota Vikings $116,078,422
Houston Texans $116,306,676
Miami Dolphins $116,636,173
Indianapolis Colts $116,773,288
Green Bay Packers $118,001,169
Arizona Cardinals $118,787,639
TIGHTENING THE BELT
Teams that will be at, or over the projected salary cap once they’ve signed the rookie class. These teams must purge their roster moving forward. The higher the cap number, the more drastic the cut backs need to be.
St. Louis Rams $120,982,904
Detroit Lions $122,760,121
New York Giants $124,735,807
New York Jets $128,092,733
Dallas Cowboys $128,910,735
Carolina Panthers $129,962,768
Oakland Raiders $140,861,316
Pittsburgh Steelers $149,885,537
Pittsburg is f**ked.
Agreed, and they know it. Keisel was talking about it after the season, something about he didn't expect to be back, and there would be other vets who wouldn't be back. Then the article cited Larry Foote and Aaron Smith as guys who probably wouldn't be back.

I want to comment on this, but I'm suffering post-traumatic stress disorder from watching Madonna lurch around the stage during last night's halftime.
You realize what I have to do now, right?

I'm not a hater, it's just that without a working time machine we can stuff her in, Madonna belongs nowhere near a primetime TV event.
Correction: I am a hater.

I want to comment on this, but I'm suffering post-traumatic stress disorder from watching Madonna lurch around the stage during last night's halftime. Nicki Minaj should have been the featured performer, then when they needed 10 seconds of something to appeal to nursing home residents and geriatric fetishists, Madonna could have ridden across the stage in her Hoveround power chair (paid for by medicaire, no out of pocket cost to you).
-
No matter how Eli plays, he still better deliver my paper on time tomorrow.
-
That Chrysler ad Clint did almost makes up for the halftime show Madonna doddered through.
-
Madonna should be arrested.
-
Actually they had an interview with Madonna earlier and she looked pretty good for an old broad.
I'd hit it.

I would too, but if she started singing any of her songs during the act I'd probably strangle her. Pretty confident my justifiable homicide defense would be successful, too.

Patriots won the coin toss. Let's face it, this game is fixed.
-
How many people does it take to flip a coin at the Super Bowl? Looks like there are about 75 people out there now.
-
I'd take Up With People, which I've always hated, over the dumpster fire they're going to shove in front of our faces tonight. Although it is possible Madonna could suffer a stroke and crank out verbal gibberish for a few minutes like that weather lady did a few months ago. Short of that, nothing can save tonights halftime show. Basically, we're going to have to watch Madonna decompose for fifteen minutes. Gross.

First cry of the night - listening to those two hillbillies sing America the Beautiful.

Exactly the opposite of how I would have handled Carson. Make it an open competition and maybe he'll lose some of the complacency. The worst thing about his time in Oakland so far is how practiced he sounds at explaining after a game what went wrong. He's way to comfortable with losing.

Jerome's court appearance is this afternoon.
Could face 5 years, "but prosecutors said he could be eligible for a diversion program."

Also worth noting that there's trouble in Pitt. Arians' "retirement" didn't sit well with Jen, who wants an accounting from the FO. Stay tuned...
Lol.
Yes, Pittsburgh front office, please explain yourself to your semi-retarded prodigy. He wants answers! (please keep said answers monosyllabic)

I'm not sure if he died, or if Paul Brown just drafted him again.

And it appears the winner of the booby prize is Rutgers coach Greg Schiano.
/>http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/01/26/report-bucs-plan-to-hire-schiano/They hired the hot name from 2 years ago, based on a recommendation from know-it-all Bill Parcells? They're idiots.

I wanted to interview Kevin Coyle for the job of raking my leaves this fall and Mike Brown wouldn't let me interview him. That old bastard.
-
The Bengals coaches have done what a lot of teams want done, taken a franchise that can't get going, and put it in the playoffs two out of the last three years.
And I think the media claim that in Cincinnati you succeed in spite of the front office also helps elevate the status of these coaches.
-
Ha ha, you called it Billy. Now give me your Super Bowl pick so I can go to Vegas.

The Patriots are Goodell's handpicked favorite team. The cheating scandal he covered up for them brings the NFL all the closer to the WWNFL era. Dimster is right, they are cheaters and I won't be a bit surprised if 20 years from now someone from the inside writes a book that reveals Bellicheck kept cheating even after Goodell destroyed the tapes and fined Kraft.
Jim McNally Returns
in Cincinnati Bengals

Agree with everything in Shula's post. The proof is in the job offers he's gotten to go elsewhere. None, at least none that I'm aware of. If you're a good coach in the NFL it's not that hard to move up. Guys do it all the time. Our new OC puts in one season, and he's getting looks as head coaching material.
To paraphrase one of the all-time great sigs on this board, "Game recognize game, and Jim Alexander lookin' kind of weak."
