Agree in that I’m pulling for the Texans. That defense stepped up big, but so don’t think they yet have the makeup to really push a team like the Bills or Chiefs. The game against the Ravens is going to be a nail biter and if the D falters, could be a long day. Yes, rooting for Mixon as well. Ravens, Chiefs and Bills ?? I guess I would have to go Bills if forced to pick, but that might as well be the Ravens, Steelers and Browns…

Maybe Eberflus would be a better DC than head coach. I’m at least open to considering that. However, he completely lost that locker room, made poor decisions and was equal to the mess the Chicago front office was/is. If getting back to his comfort zone is a positive, I can get that, but they better be sure. They simply cannot afford to fuck up this decision.

Ok, the defense still sucked WITH Trey. What will they be without him? He's literally had more sacks than ALL of the other D-linemen put together. There were 1.5 sacks produced by the secondary. It worries me to think about what losing that kind of production and the impact of those sacks means for a defense that was worse than atrocious the entire season. I don't think there is enough improvement on the part of those on the roster, enough money for free agents or enough experience in draft picks to replicate 17.5 sacks. If by looking at the current roster, that will take 8 MORE players. However, that also includes Carter who no longer plays for the Bengals and Hubbard who probably won't be in 2025. So call that 10 players. Oh wait, BJ Hill's a free agent as well. Oops, so is Joseph Ossai. This is getting worse. Now, is there a top end DE out there to be had that can bring sacks? Sure, but weren't we told the same thing about Myles Murphy and his ability to get home? Lets take a look at how many sacks he had in 2024. Looking, looking.... oh there it is ZERO. I love Tee and want him back, but if I'm put in a position to bring back one or the other, give me Trey. I will wish Tee the best, root for him when he doesn't play us and watch him go.

There are a few I like there, but no "be all end all" type guys. If you aren’t watching, one of the RB’s I love in the draft is having a night tonight. Penn State’s Nick Singleton. EDIT: He finished the game with 84 yards rushing (5.6 ypc) and 3 TD's, with 2 receptions for 33 total yards. I was seeing him in the 3rd round and getting him there would be a steal for any team. While I can think of other ways to improve this team, adding another big, strong, fast RB to pair with Chase Brown is ok by me.

I don’t want Trey to go anywhere. Who’s going to get to the QB ?? There is literally no one else applying much pass rush outside of him. The secondary would be further scathed if the opposing QB has all day to pick them apart.

I can get behind this comment. I'm still a little salty about my interactions with Bills fans during the playoffs a couple years back. Bills Mafia gets a lot of credit for showing up and helping out (kudos), but going there in person? I didn't run into a single Bills fan that was pleasant. NOT ONE. Quite the opposite as a matter of fact. Just straight up assholes to my son (15 at the time) and me. I think Josh Allen is a great QB and I like watching him play the game, but that's where it ends for me and Buffalo. Hell, even that city is a piece of shit.

Al Golden coming back to this defense wouldn't bother me at all. He already has rapport with the team and has done well as the DC at Notre Dame since, building a top 10 defense in the nation. (#8 to be precise) Their rushing defense (not that it's an issue) is the only part not a top 10 unit. #2 Scoring Defense and #5 Red Zone and Third Down Defense. #18 in sacks, #5 in interceptions, and the 3rd best turnover margin in the nation as well. Of course they are playing in the CFP semi finals Thursday night. Now I have another reason to watch things a little closer against a really solid Penn State team. I wouldn't mind Saleh either. Like not at all, but like Hoosier said, not sure Zac brings in his eventual replacement if things go bad in 2025. He would actually be my #1, with Golden as my #2. Agree that the scouting is just an unreal thought to have considering the amount of time, money and energy that goes into the whole thing. I don't think I will ever understand that approach. Maddening is an understatement. I think many think the Bengals are the only team that struggles to figure it all out. We aren't the only ones trying to figure out what happened to this season and watching other teams in the playoffs. We aren't the only ones pissed off today and questioning everything about our organizations. The Bengals aren't the only ones trying to determine the best way to manage the cap.
