  1. This has to be one of the most significant failures I have seen since Burrow was drafted. Either he is not as good as we all think he is or Zac is completely in over his head with play calling. Maybe a combination of both. Go ahead and flame that comment all you like. Totally inexcusable to lose this game. You can’t call yourself a contender and do what we saw tonight. Well, at least what I saw until I stopped watching. While I didn’t rake leaves in the dark, I managed to help the Mrs. and got two loads of laundry done. That was FAR more productive than what the Bengals showed tonight. There really is not much excitement to this team for me at this point. Losses to Trubiskey, Rush, and now Brissett are about as much as I can tolerate. Just completely fucked.
  2. Too bad it’s dark and I can’t go rake some leaves. Oh wait, I have a headlight. Later…
  3. That’s just it, there’s no sooner rather than later. The labrum won’t heal on its own. He HAS to have surgery. The when to the surgery question is determined on how much pain he is experiencing. Knowing the hairline fracture is going to take a few weeks, I would lean to sending him to IR and getting him as good as you can. Do it before the game starts tonight to have this game count in the 4 games and allows them to make the determination at that point. Stupid to wait knowing what they know.
  4. Patrick Queen and Roquan Smith in the same linebacking corps. Nice for them.
  5. The Ravens just gave up 2nd and 5th round picks to get LB Roquan Smith from the Bears.
  6. Well TJ, your wish of the Bengals bringing up, "The other guy" apparently has happened. The Bengals have called up DT Domenique Davis.
  7. I know I was out of the office and away for the past week, but how did I miss that Chase's "hip injury" was a torn labrum ?? Talk about hit or miss. Either way around he's going to need surgery at some point. It's no different than a torn labrum in the shoulder. Surgery is the only way back to 100%. The hairline fracture is obviously problematic, but that will heal on it's own. I know pain varies from person to person, but that's going to dictate what happens from here. They should really just place him on IR now and let it all calm down. After 4 games, if the pain is tolerable, get him back in the lineup and see what you've got. However, that might last all of one hit or he may be able to go the rest of the season. After just having the labrum in my shoulder repaired, color me skeptical.
  8. I really don't have that much to say about this game tonight. I'm not all caught up in who is playing or who isn't. The Bengals are the better of the two teams and should walk away from Cleveland with the "W". Anything less than that should be viewed as a pretty significant failure. Go Bengals...
  9. I HIGHLY suggest it. There really are no words to describe how amazing that stadium is. Assuming PBS stays operational as long as Riverfront stadium did, that’s at least another 8 years. It will be interesting to see what happens.
  10. I didn’t know where to put this so this will have to do… I just got back from a week in Vegas at a conference for work. Cool thing was at one of the conference after parties, we met a dude who worked for the Raiders. Long story short, we got to take a tour of the new Raiders stadium. All I can say is “WOW”. The place is amazing. Granted, PBS was built 22 years ago, but that stadium made it look like we play in a junkyard that was set to flame. The facility that the public sees, the suites, the locker room, the private areas for fans that want a little more and the fact the stairs didn’t smell like piss. Really, REALLY impressive.
  11. So when being placed on IR, does he miss 4 weeks or does it have to be 4 games ?? I know they said 4-6 weeks but also heard they are hoping he comes back sooner rather than later. With the Bye week after the Panthers game, 4 weeks means he’s back for the Titans. 4 games is obviously the Chiefs. Just curious…
  12. Ok first things first. Fuck you Tom Brady, you douchebag !! Next Chase… Huge blow, no doubt and it’s going to suck not having him. However, Tee is a #1 on more teams than not and cannot be overlooked. They have enough weapons to get them through and we have the added benefit of the bye week during that span. For as much as I love Burrow, this is also an opportunity for him. Is he one of those guys who gets the next man up and makes him a better player or not. I like Mike Thomas and am personally hoping that Stanley Morgan might get some opportunities.
  13. Considering big future deals to be done and other pending free agents, I wouldn’t think addition of players, but rather draft capital. My question would then shift to… Who goes ?? Not expecting anything however.
  14. The wording of the announcer describing the play was so great to listen to. Then you had the “Good Grief” on the scoreboard. Classic stuff right there. Loved it !!
  15. That’s really cool to see !!
  16. Awards be damned. GET THE “W” !!!
  17. I’m addicted to their shitty mozzarella sticks and the jalapeño poppers that will make your heart stop.
  18. Don’t know what it is, but I’m going to go no to either. Kinda cute, kinda not.
  19. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cincinnati-bengals/joe-mixon-21789/ Again, I'm not suggesting Mixon going anywhere regardless of us drafting another running back. However, his dead cap next year is only 5.5 mil, which would still save the team over 7 mil overall. The following year, that hit drops to 2.75 mil and a savings to the team of over 10 million. Please correct if I'm reading that wrong.
  20. Not taking anything away from Ossai but you can see Matthew’s turn his head and attention inward which gave Ossai his chance. That being said, he took advantage of that chance and made the most of it.
  21. Not like that’s a bad thing either. Being surprised by the defensive depth of the d-line and LB groups is a wonderful thing !!
  22. It’s the dead cap hit which you have to consider if I’m not mistaken TJ. For example if come 2023 we move on, there is a 5.5 million dead cap hit, so we end up saving money off the 12.8 million total for the year. Go one more year and it drops to 2.75 of over 13 million. That being said, I wouldn’t want a 1st round RB to mean his departure necessarily. I think it gives them a nice 1-2 combo for a couple of years and then they move on naturally. Yes, still want Robinson out of Texas.
  23. Just come away from Monday night with a “W”…. Can’t drop this one to the Browns.
  24. Agree with Hoosier that the Falcons aren’t that good and they also had a bunch of injuries going on. That being said, the Bengals had themselves a very solid game and soundly defeated a team they should have. Loving what we are seeing with the depth. Lessening my concerns all the time. Hope they keep it up in the coming weeks !!
