TIMEsteelersfan Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Tears from Hines Ward were the result of two things that every great football player has. Passion and Desire. They may express it differently... or the same way, just not in front of the camera. That interview was one of the classiest things I've ever seen from a football player and I'm proud that he's a Steeler. Quote
The Big Orange Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 I say offend the entire division...Pullout a terrible rag with brown stains on it and wrap up a dead raven...then do some kind of tiger stomp on it and give it to Bettis as a retirement gift.Actually I'll take all of that for an exchange of another Big Ben howling a "NOOO!!!!" after his second (or was it his 3rd) pick...some fresh Hines tears...or a half dozen Cowher scowls. oldschooler Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 I`m glad to see the Bengals giving some "back" to the Steelers. And Hines Ward = Wines Hard. Quote
jjakq27 Posted January 6, 2006 Author Report Posted January 6, 2006 There's that double standard again. Steeler guy does it and he's got passion and desire. Bengals guy does it and he's a puss. I don't buy into that Steeler tough guy thing either. There is an awful lot of chatter from the Steeler folks for a team that is going to roll us. Is it nerves or what? Or do yinz just have ADHD? ShulaSteakhouse Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 The Shuffle he did probably ticked off and motivated the rest of the Bengals' last time. That was a slap in the face to the entire franchise and it's history - so the towel is a touche. That Flush Limbaugh is a fan of your sorry team makes me hate them even more. I respect the Steelers ability to put a good team on the field every year from a pure football perspective - but I swear to God I hope the Bengals' come out and put those dancing clowns in their place again, I don't care if we win another game the rest of the playoffs.I hope Hines goes over the middle and is introduced to Odell Thurman as well! What are you talking about? When did a Bengal show emotion like that? Who said he was a puss? Certainly not me. Cincy is gonna get steam rolled. Quote
jjakq27 Posted January 6, 2006 Author Report Posted January 6, 2006 It's just my perception of Steelerdom in general. The Steelers and their fans "act" like this bunch of tough, hard ass, just poured steel at the foundry with my bare hands, kind of people. Yet here is your star receiver bawling his eyes out. Passion, disappointment, desire or whatever you called it but it still comes of pretty girlish. BTW, I chalk that picture up to overconfidence. There was no way that the Steelers were going to lose at home against NE but they did.Meanwhile all we ever hear is how "soft" the Bengals are. Especially from your fans. Can't play smashmouth. Not tough enough to out-physical the Steelers. Too much of a finesse team. So if one of our guys was doing that, we'd never hear the end of it. But I guess it is OK since he is one of your "warriors". Quote
TIMEsteelersfan Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 It's just my perceptionExactly. I stopped reading right there. Quote
Stripes Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Nice touch on the "Shroud of Turin"Still, we can't be laughing at Steelers fans for holding their towel in such high esteem and then get pissed off at Hines Ward for doing the Ickey Shuffle. At the same time, Steelers fans can't give us any crap about dissing the towel unless they openly shun Ward for his actions. Quote

walshfan Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 All this "dissing" one another will make no difference once the game starts.. Its no secret these two teams dont like each other ..Let the game start and lets see who can stop who the most..Im betting the Bengals will have enough offensive firepower to overcome the lapses in the defense...34-30 Quote
Stripes Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Well in all fairness... Chad cried after the Jags game. Quote
walshfan Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Maybe players are going to the dick verveil school of emotional outpouring before and after games now..instead of towels maybe both teams need to start waving hankies... Quote

MacD BengalFan Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 I think TJ did the towel justice by wiping off his shoe with it. I think the towel should be used to wipe a part of the anatomy that is not seen by daylight. Quote
duus Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 It's a TOWEL! A towel! Seriously, a piece of cloth! And since when is a towel to be considered 'terrible'? Have you ever really taken a look at all those Steeler fans walking around with their little yellow towel hanging out of their back pockets? Just funny. Too funny. It's a TOWEL! A towel! Quote
Ox Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 You all do realize chad is going to desecrate the rag this weekend don't you? Man I wish it were now... Quote
