xjjeep90 Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 This guy hasn't made a big play in forever. He has horrible hands and cannot run after catch. I hope this draft we can get a good TE that can do something with the ball once he catches it. Every team in our division has a great TE and it seems to be the missing piece on offense. Quote
Ox Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Wow the NFL better not let us get our hands on Pope. That would spell bad things for the rest of the league. Quote

He should be doing some special X-games features on ESPN2 instead of showing up on "Family Feud" where this happened: You best watch out Robby Knievel! The "Souljah" is after your job! Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Schobel is a back-up and has been due to Marvin/Brat being happy with Kelly. What I want is a real receiving threat at TE that defenses feel the need to account for, who can also block well. As happy as I have been with Marvin's roster management since he came here compared to the previous regimes, I think we all realize this team isn't exactly championship material yet and needs some serious tweaking. Schobel might catch on elsewhere and do something in the right offense. He, like so many others yesterday, had a bad game. Quote
Stripes Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Schobel and Stewart have been bad for a long time. Still, I don't think adding a good pass catching tight end would really make all that big a difference in an offense that finished 6th in the NFL in yardage and 5th in scoring. There is only so good it can be.Also, Reggie Kelly is one of the most underrated players on this team. I know he isn't the subject of this thread, but he is worth mentioning. If we let any of our tight ends walk, it best not be him. His blocking has played a pivotal role in the success of Rudi Johnson. Quote
cincy9275 Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 i agree that schobel should be givin his walking papers . he has been here for a while and is not playing well enough to bring back. Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 give Schobel an Extension!!! COme on what is taking so long?!!? Where is his $118.75 million!?!?! Quote
Spain Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 could you imagine a real TE on this O. Yes Schobel should have some competition come in next year. The Real ? is , is Reggie Kelley the new H-Back in this O. The inside scoop on schobel is thathe just doesnt fit this O. Thats a bunch of BS . He was begging for the H-back O and he still cant crack the starting lineup. The guy has had one big play his whole career. Its ashame because the guy can fly for a man his size. Quote
turningpoint Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 I think our 2nd round pcik is locekd for a TE, who knows what we draft in the 1st round, IMO we need a safety. Quote
xjjeep90 Posted January 2, 2006 Author Report Posted January 2, 2006 Wow the NFL better not let us get our hands on Pope. That would spell bad things for the rest of the league.Naw...I wasn't refering to Winslow at all. He has barely played. I guess guys like Hyden, Heap, and Miller from Pitt are all solid TEs and we need some guy who can come up with the ball. Remember Schoble dropping the ball at Baltimore that should have been a fumble? Plays like that make me cringe every time he gets the ball. Quote
Kazkal Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 Why waste draft pick on TE we'd just kill em Quote
CantStop85 Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 Man it would be so sweet to get Leonard Pope in the draft...even though we have more pressing needs.Even with the colts' great receiving corps, they still have that receiving threat at tight end with Dallas Clark. If we got a Leonard Pope-type tight-end, our offensive assembly would truly be complete. Quote
