The_Next_Big_Thing
Who do you think is going to lose their job after the season is over?My personal thoughts are that Mike Martz - What was once a high flying offense is now an old boring offense.Dennis Green - You needed a QB. You took an old ballboy. Fitzgerald may be everything you said he was, but HE IS NOT A QB WHICH YOU DESPERATELY NEEDED!Jim Hasbeen - You may want to start thanking God for sending Hurricane Katrina, because the fact is, Katrina may be the only thing that saves your job. You should have been fired last year.Mike Vice - Get ready for your next career as an entertainment consultant. Getting rid of Moss was a mistake. Getting caught selling playoff tickets, having hookers on a boat trip, and generally being unable to win was the end for you.Dick Vermeil - Won't get fired, but just might retire (again).Dom Capers - Don't let the bull hit you on the way out. You've built a crappy franchise and it's not getting any better.Jeff Fisher - You might get one more year, but I think McNair and you leave together, now.Mike Mularky - The best you can say for your season is you beat the Bengals. Takeo thought he was joining a winner. You turned it into a loser.
BengalszoneBilly
Living in Arizona, I can absolutely guarantee you that Dennis Green is in no way in any danger of losing his job...YET! He is now going into his "Make-It-Or-Break-It" years as the head coach of the Cardinals. If next year is a repeat of this past one, then he may feel some heat. The_Next_Big_Thing
Hey, if Arizona is happy with a guy who has failed to draft what is needed in preference for a ballboy from the past, and with a complete lack of ability to win, so be it. Personally, I think he's on the hot seat, and if he's not fired this off season, he will be next year. Mariucci style.
Turi
I agree with Billy B. Dennis Green isn't going no where. And as for drafting the wrong guy and needing a QB? They've got the no. 1 passing attack in the league. They need a running game and defense. I liked their draft of Arrington with their 2nd rounder last year but he needs an O line to compliment him. Sure they need a QB for the future but Kurt Warner has had a mini revival this year and has years ahead of him.
Stripes
I have a feeling that Martz, Haslett, and Tice will all be rescued this offseason. Haslett and Martz have good excuses, and Tice has a meager winning streak that put his team back in the hunt. Of the three, the only one I think is a legitimate NFL coach is Haslett. Takeo thought he was joining a winner. You turned it into a loser. I think Martz was told last week that he won't be back.Green will probably get one more year and will try to trade for Culpepper.Haslett will probably get one more year.Tice should have been canned early in the season and is probably gone.It sounds like Vermeil is going to retire after the season.Capers. I don't know. They were 7-9 last year and expected to do some damage but I don't know if it is him or the team that has been assembled or is it all on David Carr and the O-Line? I won't be surprised either way.Fisher will be back.Mularky probably saved his job on Sunday if he was really in any trouble to begin with. I think he should leave Holcomb in there until Losman is ready. One other on my list. While he is back for next year, Brian Billick will be under the scope next season. I like the Bengal-esque late season surge by the Ravens, leading to false hope for next year. Glad it is someone else for a change.

Haslett and Martz have good excuses, and Tice has a meager winning streak that put his team back in the hunt. Of the three, the only one I think is a legitimate NFL coach is Haslett. The trick is Haslett WANTS to be fired, so he doesn't have to fulfill the last year of his contract and can coach again next year. Everybody in New Orleans is totally fed up with Tom Benson, and have been for a good while, even before the hurricane. Martz is a goner.Green will stick around going into the new stadium.Tice with the new owner I think is gone. Remember Zygi Wilf's comments right after the love boat incident. His mind was made up then but wanted to wait til the end of the year.Capers= gone.Vermeil = gone.Billick will stick according the the owner yesterday. Most overrated coach in the biz. Rode Marvin's D's coattails to the Super Bowl win and took all the credit. Sherman will stay in GB. Norv Turner = REALLY gone.Any surprise firings??????? Herm Edwards???? NJ29
For the life of me, I will never understand why Dennis Green thinks Luke McCown is good. I think that he will keep his job. I think Martz is done. He has proven year in and year out that he can't call a balanced offense.

I doubt Minnesota will let him get away, but Arizona would indeed be a perfect fit for Daunte. Get him and any sort of running game, and the Cardinals suddenly have a top five offense. (You're pretty saavy for an Englishman involved in an American sport.) But, I disagree with both of you. I feel after another year or two of studying while backing up Kurt Warner, he'll be a better QB than Kyle Boller will ever be. An offensive line that could support a running game wouldn't hurt either!

ShulaSteakhouse
Wow, 5 coaches now gone, with a couple more possibilities.I can't imagine Davis keeping Turner around either, and Parcells may be gone too. The Jets may have an opening soon also.
jjakq27
Jim Haslett is gone according to NBC.On ESPN, they also said that Jim Fassel will get a serious look from the Raiders and the Vikings. He has some connection to both teams. There goes Kyle Boller's mentor.
Stripes
I think it was a mistake for the Saints to dump Haslett, if they really did. I hope he has success elsewhere, because I think he is a better coach than people give him credit for.All the rest of these firings seem to be logical though. Now part of it is coaching and part of it is the front office not getting him the players. BUT, Haslett isn't a great coach.

He is working under the worst owner in the NFL in my opinion. Yes, he's done very little with the Saints during his tenure, but who has done anything with the Saints? jjakq27
I read on a Ravens site earlier today that Savage was staying in Cleveland and John Collins may be out instead. It mentioned that Crennel went to bat for Savage which probably helped a great deal and changed their minds.
San Antonio Bengal
I still can't believe that there were people calling for Mike Tice to be Coach of the Year. Thank goodness Minnesota didn't listen to these dolts and fired his sorry butt.Haslett is a decent coach. He's the kind of coach that might have one or two really great seasons with a bunch of average ones (just missing playoffs or get in as wildcard). The problems in New Orleans go far beyond the coach. There were people here in San Antonio who wanted the Saints to come to town. Heck, I wanted the Saints to come to town until the Superdome could be rebuilt and New Orleans was capable of supporting a team. Now that I've seen much more of Tom Benson that what I wanted to, I realize that it's probably a good thing that the Saints won't be here. At least San Antonio put on a good face for the three games that were played here.If many more coaches get fired, people are going to start coming out with their "Mock Hirings." NO to get, in a surprise move, Herm Edwards".
