membengal Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 Long live the dead cat bounce (somewhere else). For years, we suffered through an execrable Bengals team coming to "life" in December, providing false hope for the next year, and leading to the retention of horrific quarterbacks etc. Man, I don't miss that. So, enjoy it, Ravens fans. I was laughing as they rolled to a 48-3 win over a hurt, bad, and disinterested-bordering-on-quitting GB team last night, and started cackling as Kyle Boller began to heat up. Oh please, oh please, oh please, oh please, let Billick et al be fooled by his performance and let them put him back in their plans for 2006. That is one thing that fans in Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati can likely all agree on this morning. Quote

Stripes Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 I had a fantasy playoff game going this week, and going into Monday, the only way I could lose was a huge game by Matt Stover. Thank you Ravens offense for finally deciding to have success when I needed you to suck as usual. Quote

ShulaSteakhouse Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 You mean some people actually bothered to watch that God awful game last night? I could hardly keep my eyes open.I don't care to see Favre or Green Bay play again for another 3 years, they seem to be on nationally every single week this year - got old 2 months ago. (understand to an extent why they were picked - but even with Green and Walker and Ferguson back - they still wouldn't be that great IMO).I wish Favre would just retire - he's a joke at this point in his career, not even a good QB anymore - weapons or not, he gets worse every single year. God forbid anyone criticize him when his time is clearly up. Quote
HoosierCat Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 I watched some of the first quarter, just as a sleep aid.Only bright spot for the Pack is Samkon Gado, that kid has a future in the league. There was one run very early when the Ravens lined up in a 4-4 -- basically 8 guys on or near the line -- and Gado just followed a couple blockers and squirted around the right side for 20 or 30 yards. Too bad he hurt his knee, hope it's nothing major.Favre was awful. First or second drive he tried to hit Donald Driver long with a moonball toss straight out of the Jeff Blake file. It was overthrown by 5 yards and how Ed Reed didn't hold onto it I don't know. Just horrible, absolutely horrible.Boller looked OK, the GB D was doing a lot to help him out. On that first TD pass, it's 3rd and goal around the 4 or 5 yard line. Hmmm...who oh who might Boller look to pass to??? (Hint: TE Todd Head is lined up in the slot.) What do the Packers do? Come with an all out blitz, leaving the Ravens receivers in man coverage and zip! Boller hits Heap for the score. It was a nice throw...but the defender never even turned to look at the ball, he was staring at Heap in front of him the whole time. Quote
membengal Posted December 20, 2005 Author Report Posted December 20, 2005 Yes, no doubt joisey, based on that, according to my brother who is stuck living in Baltimore, the entire city now thinks that Boller is the answer for 2006. Again, that would be SWELL.As for why watch the game? Well, I needed a miracle from the Baltimore D and got it. Thanks Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre, you guys are incompetently awesome. Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 Just makes me wonder why some of these teams get a Monday night game. Like last week, how did the Saints get a monday night game and we didn't? We were better than the Saints last year and still this year. I hope Brett Retires, I'm sick of seeing GB on Monday night 3 times a year, and pluss he sucks. He had a great career time to move on though.Eh, wasn't that Kyle Bollers highest passing yards last night? I think he is improving and could be a potential hall a famer!!!!!!!! Quote
