7/11
justin smith. he's unsung every year b/c he doesn't post double-digit sack numbers...but he has been the only consistent pass rusher (of d-linemen) all year. he puts good pressure on the qb every game while continuing to get double teamed. props to js90. The_Next_Big_Thing
It could be that rookie Chris Henry, he's turning into a great pickup. It could be Odell Thurman, after all, he should be defensive rookie of the year.It could be Madieu Williams, after all, we've seen what we had and wish we still had right now.It could be Chris Perry, after all, he's done some great things when he gets on the field. It could be Levi Jones, since he has opened some serious holes for Rudi and Chris. It could be Robert Geathers, who while he hasn't been perfect, has been well worth his draft pick.It could be Tab Perry, who has completley changed our kickoff return game and our kick coverage teams. It could be Fanene, who in his first active game had a sack and a couple great tackles. It could be David Pollack, who is in on tackles but the other guys name gets called. It could be Keiwan Ratliff, who has been a good nickle corner, and is now apparently going to try to fill in for Madieu Williams at safety. It could be Landon Johnson, who is sharing time with Pollack and getting it done when he's on the field. It could be Caleb Miller, who had a couple nice special teams tackles after returning from being injured. It could be Jeremi Johnson, who not only has added some pass catches for TDs to his game this year, but continues to knock people out of Rudi's way and protect Carson. But then againJust maybeWe should be talkingabout the guy who made all this possible!Bill Tobin, Bengals' Scout! Without him we would have none of these players.
BlainThePain
My unsung player would have to be Braham too. Its almost a completely different offense without him and he never gets credit for how well the line plays. All the credit always goes to the tackles. My unsung coach would have to be Kevin Coyle. Just about everything he touches in the secondary turns to gold. Madieu played at a probowl caliber as a rookie, Tory James got his first probowl as a Bengal, Deltha O'Neal went from being an outcast to being one of the top corners in the NFL, Keiwan Ratliff has played well, and, whether you like him or not, KK has played good this year. I think he's the top reason we have so many INTs. I hope we can Coyle for the next 10 years. I think Coyle is turning into a defensive version of Jim Anderson. maanster
he is not unsung but carson palmer is the life of this franchise. the man is special.justin smith get a bad rap with bengal fans but his motor is non-stop.
AMC
Good call on Coyle...word around the league is he is HIGHLY respected as a technical wizard with DBs...also heard grumblings about him as a D-Coord. in the future...he have possibly the best asst. coaches in the league...Alexander, Coyle, Zampese.... Before Marvin arrived, the Bengals special teams were jokes. After 3 years of Darrin running around, checking everything and getting everyone the same page, they're vastly improved and have made the difference in several games just this year. bengalindian
Mike Brown. He finally got his head out of his ass and gave this team to Marvin Lewis. Gotta respect that.

HairOnFire
Rudi Johnson. You can probably argue that he's not an unsung player, but hardly a week goes by without a reminder that nearly half of the population of Bengala has gone soft-headed for his backup. I would give anything if the Bengals would take the lead in paying assistant coaches enough money to keep them satisfied. It doesn't count against the salary cap so there's no excuse!Just maybewe should be talkingabout the guy who made all this possible!Bill Tobin, Bengals' Scout! Without him we would have none of these players.I second that and would also add John Cooper (in my opinion, he is the best judge of NFL talent in the country. The talent he recruited at Ohio State went to the NFL in record numbers.
schweinhart
The unsung hero last week was Reggie Kelly. He played as good a game at fullback as you'll ever see. Plus made catches at TE.For the season, it's got to be the O-line between the tackles who are most unsung.Coachwise, I'd have to say Hue Jackson. MARVIN=W'S
I know these guys are not "unsung heros" but Carson Palmer is the centerpiece of this franchise for years to come. And the #1 hero for all Bengal fans should always be MARVIN LEWIS. For 1 man to come in here and completely change the mindset and culture and do it so quickly is amazing. I'm just thankful Mike Brown did the right thing and handed the franchise to him, it has worked for everyone.
Spain
With out a doubt it is Scott Koostra, he comes in and you dont notice a thing. the guy has worked his way into a palya.
BlainThePain
With out a doubt it is Scott Koostra, he comes in and you dont notice a thing. the guy has worked his way into a palya.I'm a Kooistra fan too. I hope we resign him this offseason (he'll be a restricted free agent). He's a great back-up at right guard and right tackle. I think he's better than some of the starting right guards around the league.
kingwilly
I'll go with TJ. He gets overlooked in all the Chad hype. He has been able to really capitalize with all the double teaming that Chad gets and has really produced. I tip my hat to you Mr. TJ. BengalszoneBilly
Mike Brown. He finally got his head out of his ass and gave this team to Marvin Lewis. Gotta respect that.Damn. You beat me to it. None of this wouldn't have happened unless Mike Brown pulled his head hard back until he heard the "pop" when it finally cleared his sphinxter muscle.I used to be one of his loudest critics, so now I have to give him his props! Not a week went by that I didn't call for his head. I guess I'll just have to settle for it being outside his ass!
