Gregory Gall
Just read thishttp://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor..._len&id=2250307 Looks like they are being proactive just in case Kitna leaves.
Stripes
I've always thought that Couch would have been more successful in a better enviornment (a la David Carr). It'd be cool to have two different #1 overall pick quarterbacks on the same roster.Don't get me wrong though, I'd take Kitna over Couch any day of the week. smith288
I dont have a problem with it.I love Krenzel for his contributions to OSU but lets be honest...Couch has the QB body and needs some real help... Browns stained him (per usual) but he may be what we need for a #2 if Kitna leaves.
andybren
This idea gives me pause, as it should for anybody who saw Couch play, but wouldn't it be cool to pick up the Browns' franchise QB for pennies and develop him into a stable, dependable backup? ShulaSteakhouse
Maybe Zampese can help him and this offense is suited to more of a pocket passer than someone like Krenzel. As long as he's a #3, who cares either way - but you wonder if they're worried about Kitna bolting, or just doing what they did with Krenzel (marketing appeal and a fit for both parties). turningpoint
Love to have him as a backup, he's in the same mold as carson..I think if he studied and learned the gam well and our offense he could command it decently well if carson were to be out for a couple games.he has the #1 overall talent, and we have one of the most talnted set of wr;s in the NFL.I'm willing to bet he'd actually shine in our offense if given the oppurtunity.this is carsons team, but hell having a backup that wouldn't miss a beat talent wise would be nice, it;s just a mtter of him grasping the offense. Ox
This is halarious to me, seeing the guy become a star at UK years ago, then going to Cleveland, and ending up in stripes. Couch's rep has always been short dump offs to his wide outs, and let 'em run. That's how his numbers were so gaudy at Ky. I'm just wondering if he would succeed here... jjakq27
I thought Couch had some type of shoulder injury. He tried out with Green Bay last year but I heard his velocity was greatly diminished.
HairOnFire
Oh, how the mighty have fallen. I'm suddenly reminded of the fact that prior to being drafted Couch reluctantly worked out for the Bengals, and made his true feelings known by wearing a Browns cap during the visit. I have mixed feelings about the idea. I doubt Couch would sign if the Bengals had made it clear that he was targeted for the #3 role. Most likely the workout was conducted at Couch's request and the Bengals agreed due to the need to develope a fallback plan should Kitna find a team interested in making him a starter next season. On the positive side, I have almost no faith in Krenzel and would love to see the Bengals use a mid round pick on a QB who has the required physical skills to develope into a potential starter. Signing a humbled Couch, if he's regained his health, would eliminate one more potential draft day need. And the reaction from Brownie fans would be priceless. jjakq27
Maybe Jordan Palmer will declare and come out early.

Sure he sees where we are going as far as a team, and how Cleveland hurt him, but I think that he is a lot better than Krenzel despite the fact that he was a s**tstain. He would be a damn fool to not want to be on our side now.

Whur CHad At?
i SAY we trade up in the draft and draft leinart
bengalindian
I wouldn't want Jordan Palmer on this team, because he's going to be special, and have him sitting behind his older brother is just cruel. I know I'd be more comfortable with Couch than Krenzel as a backup, but I'd rather have Kitna, because he knows how to play, and veterans get it done in the playoffs (hopefully, he's not needed). But I agree totally with Whur CHad At?. Definitely trade up the first round picks for the next three years to get Leinart. So worth it in my opinion.
Spain
If he is healthy, Let zampese do his magig and teach him for four or five years, I bet he would be a franchise as a back up. Repeat if Healthy. You always need two great QBs!
