Bring on Baltimore

Colts, schmolts, worry about them in January. But to get to that point we need to knock off the Ravens.

Bookies say we walk; Bengals are 9-point favorites.

Reports out of Baltimore are that Reed and Ray-Ray are doubtful, tho Biillick is hopeful Ray might get back. Samari Rolle suffered a concussion in the Pitt game but appears OK and seems likely to play at this point.

Billick has finally woken up to the fact that Jamal isn't the same old Jamal, and says that he and Chester Taylor will share carries at RB. I think that's bad news because right now I think Taylor is the better back.

I'm sure that Boller and Heap will be looking at film of the way Manning and Clark burned us. OTOH Boller ain't no Manning.

Stop the run, makke Boller beat us (he won't) and score a bunch of points.

I'll go with Bengals 27, Ravens 13.

(Shrug) I say stop the Ravens passing game, score a buttload of points with your own offense, and ignore the statheads who endlessly worry about how many yards the Bengals give up per rush instead of concentrating on how they've won 70% of the games they've played.

Ravens - 13

Bengals - A Buttload O' Points

If the offense that took the field on Sunday shows up against the Rats --- game over and early. I would love to have the game plan be that they rely on Boller to pass the ball. I think they'll try to run, though, and have some limited success. But there's no way they can hang with us if we can move the ball like that - with that balance and play calling. They'll be down 2 td's in 5 minutes if we can do that. And, yes, I hope ray is back for this one.

Yup. And if the Bengals do take a big lead early...what happens? The opposing team has to abandon it's own running game even if they're having some success.

Maybe. On the other hand, the defense that took the field on Sunday against the Bengals is going to be replaced by the Ravens defense. The Colts defense is only a bit better than the Bengals defense. The Ravens won't let us score anywhere near 35 points.

Nothing will suprise me with this Bengals' team week-to-week.

But you think that loss last week would leave the Bengals' feeling hungry and suprisingly may have boosted their confidence.

The Ravens still have a good defense, and Boller looked worse than Wright last week - he was freakin' awful.

24-10 Bengals.

We simply cannot afford a loss here. A win combined with a Squeelers loss on Monday sets the tables for a division deciding game @ Heinz field 12/4....and i will be there to see it!

Bengals WILL be fierce Sunday. If we get the same offense that showed up against Indy and the D comes out with something to prove.....

Bengals 31

Ratbirds 9

Who-Dey!!!!

Ravens beat Steelers ( minus Rottenburger )....

The Ravens simply havent been able to generate any offense now that the Oline is showing signs of wear, Lewis isnt the same and the QB position is bad no matter who is in there...

The Bengals have to come in here and take control quickly.. If they get an early lead they can cruise in this one..

stay away from turnovers and a win is eminent...

This is one they should win and really got to win to keep trucking toward the playoffs.

I thought the game at Baltimore would be a lot closer and expected more problems w/ Heap and the short passing game. But the Bengals D scheme was right on target -- a lot of 3 safeties looks, B-Simmons patrolling the line of scrimmage, and Bauman came through with some quality playing time.

The ghost of Jamal Lewis past still hovers around but the Bengals got to be revved up enough to get the job done. With Boller at QB, shouldn't be that hard. IIRC Mark Clayton didn't play last time and that might make some difference but after the air assault by the Colts, things should seem a lot easier for the Bengals secondary.

Rudi almost had a buck last time and despite shutting down the Steelers run game last week (how hard could that be w/ Tommy Maddox at QB and very little pass game threat from him), Rudi should get at least that this time.

Bengals 27

Ratbirds 20

Should be harder for the Bengals to stop the run if B-Rob don't play.

But don't be surprised if Ohalete makes up big time for some of his goofs :D

That's a good point. He certainly won't have to cover any deep balls (Kyle Boller). I think if Billick follows through on his claim of giving more carries to Chester taylor, that Ohalete will play a big part in neutralizing that semi-threat.

Turn the sound down on your TV for this game. The Ratbird homers Gus Johnson and Steve Tasker are doing this matchup again.

Great, as if we didn't get enough out of them 3 weeks ago, I don't have the option of listening to the radio broadcast.

Now I'm REALLY happy im goin to the game! I wanted to shoot myself during that game in Baltimore. I've never heard bigger homers for a national broadcast in my life. I wonder if they'll be wearing their purple ties again

some of his goofs? that guy did 0 right against the colts.

Poor old Ohalete has got a lot more goofs than just the Colts to make up for. Compared to some of his goofs...or gaffs is more like it...vs. the Jags, the Steelers, and the Packers, I'd say the Colts game was one of his better games.

Watching the replay of him trying to strip Dallas Clark made me cringe but damn if he didn't actually jar the ball loose. Too bad Thurman fell down in coverage on front of the play or he might of had a pick before it even got to that.

The missed tackle at the 10 yard line on the easy bomb to Reggie Wayne over a totally beat Tory James was another one that was hard too watch. Ohalete had the right angle to make the tackle but just had to much speed from running across half the field to match Wayne's change of direction. It's just too bad James was still a good 10 yards behind in Wayne's dust or maybe the cut Ohalete forced wouldn't have been a TD.

Ohalete was late getting Clark on his TD too. But it might have been too much to ask him to run from his coverage guarding against the corner of the endzone in time to make up for Keiwan being left stupid in the slot on Clark and James arrving for the double late.

Or the blitz Ohalete had on the TD to the other TE who was wide open. If Ohalete had just been a step quicker or maybe if Big Duane had dropped back in coverage from end. Of course as it turns out when they came to the sideline after the score, apparently Big Duane didn't know he was supposed to do that. At least, what else can you think, since he told Marvin he thought Ohalate was going to help on the coverage and Marvin said, "How can he? He was blitzing."

BALT returned unsold tix to the Bengals. Tix are available.

Wow, one bad year and the BALT fans give up and don't travel....what a bunch of weinies! Now they'll have Bengal fans in their little section! HA!

Actually, the tickets that were returned are not made available to the general public. Teams provide a limited number of tickets to the opposing team each week. Those tickets are generally given out to the team's front office and family members of each player.
