Whur CHad At? Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 I, and sure all of you wonder what Breshanhan was thinking iin his fat head on Sunday. How will you stop Edge and make Peyton beat you. I mean, that is just stupid! Thats like an instant death sentence. You cant stop Peyton unless your the damn 2002-2004 Patriots. Breshnahan looks like a fat white smurf(he looks like he is on )and if he doesnt step his game up he needs to kick his own ass out of cincy, so we can get a new face in there. I mean I thought Marvin was the defensive "wizard"? FIRE BRESHNAHAN! BRING IN SINGLETARY! Quote
richmond_mat Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 The D is doing what it can with its limited ability. If Madieu wasn't hurt.......blah blah blah. The cordinaator that needs to go is Idonothaveatightend-Bratkowski. Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted November 21, 2005 Author Report Posted November 21, 2005 Darring Peyton Manning to beat you, is like darring Brad Pitt to steal your girlfriend Quote

Jet23 Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 Jim Rome is a boob. He may be right, but he's still a boob. I don't know a game plan exists where you can beat the Colts with their DL. No matter how you slice it, you have to have the horses (no pun intended). Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 I know, lets fire Marvin Lewis too, after all, it all goes back to him right?SHUT THE HELL UP YOU COMPLETE AND TOTAL IMBECILE! Quote

This summer in Georgetown he looked very good; as a matter of fact, he stood out among the guys in the secondary. Quote

jjakq27 Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 Darring Peyton Manning to beat you, is like darring Brad Pitt to steal your girlfriend I heard a quote attributed to Dave Lapham and it went something like this. Manning was calling the exact opposite of the D that we were in. I think the other advantage is that they basically keep the same 11 on the field whether it is 1st or 4th down, long or short yardage. I don't think there is anyone else that can make those kind of audibles and have the personnel to do it all game long like he can. Lap said the were beside themselves because the Bengals knew their tendencies and changed the play every single time. Quote

Both our starting safeties went down before the 3rd game, and we have been starting scrubs at both safety positions ever since. 3rd and 4th stringers starting and yet we are still tied for first in the division and one of the top teams in the league. And go figure, somehow asshats blame Mike Brown for injuries too..... Quote

Oh come on now, please tell me you aren't THAT freaking stupid! Bob made a couple bad calls. It happens to the best of them. On the other hand, under Brat, we have a QB playing as well as the best in the league, multiple wideouts getting it done, guys we didn't expect anything but special teams play from making plays on the field, and a balanced offense that is #8 in the league in scoring, #3 in total offense in the LEAUGE and has thrown in unique wrinkles like lining Tab Perry up in the backfield for a shovel pass, end arounds, fake end arounds, and a couple workhorse backs running up the middle. ShulaSteakhouse Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 We just scored 37 points on the best team in the NFL and made one or two calls that didn't go our way and people want to fire Bratkowski???? Unbelieveable. That said Breshnahan and his assistants are chumps!!! BRING BACK FRAZIER!!!! Quote
Jonboat Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 To me I look at what has been a constant over the last 3 yrs & it isn't the D coordinators. What is constant is lack of pass rush with the D-line , not stopping the run which leads me to believe it's the players not the coaching. All three years we've had young inexperienced players ( esp LB ) . The weakness is clearly the D-line which we've tried ( unsucessfully ) to address trying to get several FA's. IMO Thornton is the weak link, I think Robinson has been OK. I think we'll able to get a bigtime FA next year . Lets face it the better FA's just don't want to play for a team that is not winning & 8-8 is not a winning season. Injuries have also played a part in the equation. Now having said all that, the D this year going into the Indy game was 3rd in the league for fewest points allowed which I think is the most important stat when you get down to it. How many teams have been able to stop Indy ? Quote

Hovan is the biggest name DT that will be a FA, and he is way over-rated. He's better than anything we have... but even if we sign him... we'll still need to go get one of those big DT's in the draft to truly "fix" this line. Hovan and Robinson still won't scare anyone. Now Hovan, and Ngata?... that would at least make people think. Quote
Jonboat Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 You may be right, we may be better addressing the Dline through the draft . I really don't know who may be available in FA next year. Any SS out there?I just think we're only a couple players away from having a very good D & we have the same problems on D after changing Def Coordinators which makes me believe it's more players than coaching. Maybe it could be more Dline ( position) coaching but I don't think the Coordinator is to blame or should be fired.I would like to see more of Shaun Smith he looked decent when he has had the chance. What's the deal with Askew?
