jjakq27 Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 Mark Curnutte had a good article today, comparing the 1988 team with the 2005 team. Let's hope history repeats itself v. the Colts.http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...SPT02/511110429 Quote
walzav29 Posted November 11, 2005 Author Report Posted November 11, 2005 By the way. The Bengals were 9-3 at the time. Quote
AMC Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 If you could have one player off the '88 Bengals in his prime and put him on the '05 version, who would it be????????????I think it would be scary if the '05 team had David Fulcher at SS.... Quote

ShulaSteakhouse Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 Tim Krumrie could not play NT in today's NFL, or any d-line position. And anyone who thinks the Bengals' will score 30+ points on the Colts is on crack. Quote
walzav29 Posted November 11, 2005 Author Report Posted November 11, 2005 Well spark up the glass pipe and pass it my man. The Rams laid 17 on them in the first quarter and they have no defense, no coaching, no discipline, no jungle. The Colts are going to have it up to their necks about undefeated talk. When they lose the first thing you'll hear is, "We're glad we don't have to have any of that undefeated talk." Quote

Stripes Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 And anyone who thinks the Bengals' will score 30+ points on the Colts is on crack. You're probably right, but I'll have to save this post for after the game, because I don't think it's all that farfetched. Quote
NYBengalfan Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 The Colts D gives up points, They gave up 28 to the Rams. 21 to the Pats. They stop bad offenses, they will be tested against us. Our offense is a lot more versitile than the Rams and Pats, and not to mention our D is a lot better than the Rams. We create more Turnovers than the PATS. I can see us winning by 2 scores.Colts 20Bengals 31I do think that it is possible for us to light up 30 on the scoreboard. Quote

Yup. If you could take a player from this year and play him against the 9'ers in Super Bowl XXIII, who would it be? I know, they would have only been about 9 years old, but assuming they were grown men.I would take Deltha, because he would have CAUGHT THAT DAMN INTERCEPTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
walzav29 Posted November 11, 2005 Author Report Posted November 11, 2005 I say Palmer. Boomer going for 144 was pathetic. I think he was having shoulder problems or something. You are absolutely right though. O'neal would have caught that int. Man that sucks he dropped it. Hell, why not Marvin in that SB? I'll be he wouldn't have gone prevent on the John Candy drive!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate the Niners. I'm glad they suck. Quote

Would we have had a better shot? Probably, but we had a great shot to begin with and we couldn't stop it. How many times in the 8 years he coached here did we see Sam up a touchdown with 12 minutes left change the entire gameplan and try to kill clock only to have it blow up in our face? The 11-1 Bills came into the Jungle to play the overrated, lucky Bengals. We all know what happend. For those who don't.Bengals 35Bills 212005Bengals 38Colts 17Who Dey!They also clinched the division the week before (on a last second field goal to win 9 - 6 against a crappy Jets team). They didn't come out ready to play and got punched in the mouth early. Bills dominated the second half. I think an undefeated Indy team with more to prove than the 88 Bills will come out firing a little better. Quote

Couldn't have said it better myself sir! If we could just find some DNA of his someplace and clone his ass! IMHO he was one of the best, not to mention hardest hitting, safetys of all time! Not just Cincinnati-wise...NFL-wise!Offensively, I wouldn't mind having Ickey either! Quote
rob_justdmb Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 The proved everything they had to prove on Monday night.what that they can pass on a team with no secondary? The Patriots are a shell of last year's team. That didn't prove anything. They are undefeated, the only one left. Maybe YOU feel they've proven everything that they need to prove, but I guarantee you they certainly don't feel they've proved everything. Buffalo had just clinched their first division. They came out with a hangover. I watched that game only a week and a half ago. After the first series where they stuffed us what I like to call the "4th and 1 Sam Sweep," they looked worse for a half than San Diego did a week later. Quote
