Ben wilkerson

I'm realy excited about this guy getting healhy, I really think he will dominate at his position.

Braham and ghuicic have done great jobs when they play, but i think wilkerson will play like a kevin mawea.

He's more athletic, and will be able to do some of the things stienbachs does.

imagine a run play where we pull wilkerson and stienbach to outside, we could collapse that entire side of field springing our rb for an easy 15-30yd run.

Wilkerson does look like he can be a very good player. I just don't understand how, simply because of his injuries, he went undrafted. How does that happen? Only a year later, with the Bengals crack medical crew, he will be fine again, and a first day draft pick caliber player.

IIRC Wilkerson wasn't the only guy to fall because of injuries. However, he was ardently wooed by several teams who wanted him to sign as an undrafted free agent; reportedly, several teams called before the draft was even over, and the Bengals ended up giving him a $20k signing bonus, which is unheard-of. Clearly, multiple teams thought he was a great prospect, but draft picks are scarce and unless the guy is some exceptional talent, I think it's tough for teams to justify risking even a low-round pick.

Hey Guys,

First time poster here. I've been visiting this site for months and have decided to take the plunge and join the conversation for a change.

Anyway, I emailed Geoff Hobson about Wilkerson's future with the team and his reply was quick and to the point:

"You have to play both guard and center to stick, so I expect they will work him a lot at guard."

Would love see this guy in the mix either as guard or center!

Welcome aboard, DR!

Flexibility is definitely a key for Marvin on the o-line, so I'm sure that Wilkerson will get time at guard, too. It's just too bad that he likely won't be able to contribute this year at center. Going into the second half of the season, center is my No. 1 position of concern.

He should be a better center than guy-chick. Wilkerson was a good strategic move by Marv for future needs (guard or center).

Potentially he could be as good, if not better than, Steinbach (who is very good despite what some people say and the poor development track record of Alexander).

Who says Steinbach is not good? He may not be the best G in the league, but he is good. That was a great pick by the Bengals, and he will only get better. Williams on the other hand I have reservations.
