Letters To Editor Condemn Bengals' Fans Behavior During Green Bay

Again, I was there, saw two fights, a small child's cheese head knocked off, a teenage girl get picked on and had food thrown at her by two men in their 40's, and the idiot rednecks next to us cussing out every and any Packers fan who walked by, even after one of them bought them a beer.

What an embarrassing and utterly pathetic display of classless behavior Sunday Bengals' fans. There were enough of you to make us all look bad unfortunately. I just hope the awareness factor here, as it's being talked about on the radio locally a lot and in the media generally speaking, wakes some authorities up to start kicking these jerks out of the stadium quicker and curbing the behavior of people. Beer sales probably should be cut-off at half time unfortunately as well.

Cincinnati may have won against Green Bay, but they lost a lot of character Sunday.

I took my 9-year-old niece from Wisconsin to the Bengals-Packers game. She was so proud and excited to be there.

As she proudly paraded around in her "cheese head," waving her homemade "Favre Power" sign, there was some friendly taunting from Bengals fans. It was all in fun and people were just having a good time.

After an intense fourth quarter, we were pumping up the little girl from Wisconsin who wanted so badly to see her favorite team win, when a very intoxicated Bengals fan ran up, ripped her sign out of her hand and tore it into pieces. He ran off, never looking back at the tears running down my niece's face.

I have never been more embarrassed and ashamed to be from Cincinnati.

People from here are quick to make fun of Steelers and Browns fans for their "rude" behavior, but I cannot imagine any behavior being ruder than that man's.

Bengals fans showed lack of class at game

Bengals fans: Have some class.

I support the Bengals against everybody except my hometown Packers.

I had things thrown at me, people swore at me, shoved me, and tried to start fights with me for three hours because I had a green jersey on at Paul Brown Stadium.

I would not take my child to a game there. It was embarrassing.

I noticed it too. It was silly the way some of our fans acted. To be fair though, there were many Packers fans that I saw that were just as bad. I am not condoning the behavior of some Bengal fans or saying that it is right but where I was sitting the Packer fans brought some of it on themselves.

It makes you sick. Again, if you can't handle your liquor, stay home! Unfortunately, I don't know if limiting beer sales will have enough of an effect. Most of these derelicts are already plowed before kickoff.

I love to tailgate, but if going back to the no tailgating is the only way to stop this crap, I say go for it.

Not that I am condoning bad behavior at games, but we must remember that it does happen everywhere. Not that that is an excuse mind you, but people only remember the bad things that happen, no one ever mails in a letter saying that they had a wonderful, perfect day at a Bengals game. What is the saying? One bad incident will negate 10 good ones, because no one ever remembers the good ones, but the bad ones stick out in your mind?

This is why we get made fun of for being rednecks in Cincinnati. This crap is rediculous, it makes every single Bengals fan look bad. Everyone reading that article will be disgusted with Bengals fans. To have drunk morons doing this in the stadium belittles the entire turnaround this season, and belittles this organization as a whole.

Cut the crap all you idiots involved!

Alcohol should not be served at the games if this kind of crap is going to happen. Next thing you know they will be throwing kitty litter at people!

*** damn it you're right!!!!!!!!! We gotta stop selling alcohol at games, if you cant enjoy football without booze then get the f**k away from the stadium and watch it at home..... Oh god im sick now we're looking like Steeler and Browns fans, its just sickening!

I sat in section 151 on the south end and I was surrounded by Packers fans. The Bengals and Packers fans in this area never even got in an argument at all. Bengals fans and Packers fans were both class acts in this area.

I'm sure 99% of Bengals fans behaved themselves, but there are are always a few a**clowns who ruin it for everyone. And picking on a 9-year-old definitely qualifies someeone for the title in my book.

Have you guys ever gone to an away game? We have been to several different cities and for the most part people are good natured. You cannot run around antagonizing people or running your mouth. However, in every city there are always a few bungholes that take it too far. In Chicago this year there were a couple of drunk guys that were trying to provoke some guys close to us into a fight. The ironic part was that the Bengals fans who were being provoked were double the size and numbers of the two idiots....they would have killed those guys.

Let the other team's fans be the jerks. Cincinnati has better, more knowledgeable fans than that!

Being competitive and being a jerk are two different things!

If you win with class it makes the winning much sweeter, and yourself and the community get a good name.

We need to hear, "Man, my Packer's lost, but I had a great time with those Bengal's fans. I can't wait to go back. What an awesome stadium and a good bunch of people".

I've been sitting in PBS and had beer bottles thrown at me by Brown's fans sitting up from me, but as much as I wanted to pummel their a@@es, it felt better to restrain and make them look like total idiots....

Get rid of the alcohol...nah.I like my beer at the game.

But this is a typical kneejerk reaction.Punish the many for the sins of a few.

Here's a novel idea-how about punishing those who actually cause the problem? If you see a fan harassing or being openly hostile to another, call for an usher or security. If it's bad, they'll be ecorted out,if not, they'll get a warning.

I've gone to many Bengals games, and I have only observed one incident, and it was caused by a female Steelers fan no less, not a Bengals fan.

News Flash!!

There is always going to be a percentage af a**h***s that are going to misbehave. (That percentage might be higher in Cleveland.) It will be this way in any town, and it will be this way with the fans of any teams. You can outlaw alcohol, but they'll just sneak it in anyway. We're all human and mistakes will be made. That's the way it is and always will be. Sad but true.

Like Sam Wyche said in the famous "You don`t live in Cleveland" speech.

"if you see someone doing that...point them out...and we`ll have them

escorted outta here...you live in Cincinnati...NOT CLEVELAND !"

Anyway I disagree with the cutting off sales of alcohol. It`s not the alcohol

that makes people be dumbasses.

Alcohol just enhances the dumbass that already lives within them...
