When that guy finally gets out of jail, I would like to buy him a drink. Not only did I die laughing when Favre flipped him the ball and he took off, but he also killed a lot of momentum. Things were looking bad after that BS pass interference call and the catch off the deflection. The time it took to catch him served as a much needed timeout that settled everyone down and enabled them to regain their focus. WHO DEY

As god is my witness, I think GB was going to tie the game before that guy did that. Seriously, I think that swung the game to Cincinnati. Buy him one for me

Not condoning it, mind you, but if that had not happened... well ... bad things were coming.

He made a mistake trying to run the security guard over. He should have planted and cut. Clearly, he was a slashing type runner and not a bruising, between-the-tackles kind of guy. You have to play to your strengths.

The only thing that would have made it better would have been if he'd been sporting the Burger King mask.

No brother, he did not almost cost us the game. The pack didn't gain any time (favre had already snapped the ball), and we were the ones that were on our heels.

Also, was anyone else nervous when favre faked spiking the ball?? It reminded me of when Shake 'n Blake did the same thing and hit Pickens in the endzone for the game winning td against the steelers many a year ago. My heart stopped when I saw it, because I was fearing similar results.

Guy almost cost us the game by giving Green Bay a free time out.

Completely disagree. It did not give GB a timeout. Once order was restored, GB had to be right back the line of scrimmage. It was so biazarre what happened, that GB was completly disorganized on the restart. Completely disorganized.

Really, that guy saved the game for Cincy.

That crowd was rough today, a lot of foul mouthed drunks starting fights and acting like Raider fans towards Cheeseheads. It was uglier than the game on the field. I saw a lot of fights and people getting out of hand, and getting kicked out of the game for just being jerks.

I think that fan affected the Packers too.

That's too bad.

I'm sorry but what that guy did was out of hand. It did stop the clock and it did give Favre a few moments to gather his offense. Boneheaded play by an idiot. Now what if The Pack had scored? We all would have been calling this guy the Bengals Bartman. What a time to do that. Just silly and it could have backfired on the Bengals. Lucky for us it didn't.

Take it easy man, this guy stalled the game when everything had been going wrong.

When asked if the fan broke the concentration in the game, Marvin replied, "I think it broke theirs, it was good... I'll give that guy $20 later..." He was laughing it off, so apparently Marvin also appreciated the comic relief.

It could have been a lot worse. The guy had his clothes on, and he didn't lay favre out. Nobody got hurt, so it was just humurous when all was said and done.

If he were dressed up as the Burger King...that would have made my year. Someone needs to do that. hhhmmm

From Hobson:

Some of the Bengals, including head coach Marvin Lewis, thought the fan might as well have grabbed the momentum. On the next play, defensive end Duane Clemons sacked Favre back to the 30 for the Bengals’ only sack, and then Favre faked a spike and couldn’t get the final pass off.

Although they all frowned on the biggest no-no in sports, the Bengals couldn’t help see how it affected the game.

“I think it broke theirs,” said Lewis of Green Bay’s concentration. “It was good.”

Strong safety Ifeanyi Ohalete, who only seconds before had been called for a controversial 48-yard pass interference penalty that he and Lewis disputed on Favre’s fling from his own 5, noted the sure tackling of the security guard. Even Bengals defensive coordinator Chuck Bresnahan wondered tongue in cheek about showing it to his guys to emphasize form tackling. “Whatever it takes to win,” said defensive tackle Bryan Robinson. “We even get our fans involved.”

Brett in the Post Game conference

What are your thoughts about the fan coming on the field and taking the ball out of your hand at the end of the game?

“I was surprised that happened. I thought it was a referee. The whistle had blown and it was hard to hear. I turned around and looked, and he takes the ball out of my hand.”

Do you feel that this situation affected the outcome of the game?

“I don’t think the situation helped us. I am not going to sit hear and make excuses. I am a firm believer that you make your own breaks — your own luck — to a certain extent. I will say we have not had a whole lot of breaks this season, especially injury breaks, and they are not in our favor. We have had a chance to win every game we have played in, and we have only won one of those.

“Our defense played extremely well and gave us plenty of chances to win, and we didn’t. We had some opportunities on offense and we didn’t make the most of them. I give the Bengals credit. There is something that they have been doing all year — they intercept the ball. They create turnovers, regardless of how they happen. They are creating turnovers and they did it again today.”
