semiotter Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 Well we lost the biggest game of the year today and im wondering how many so called fans are jumping ship? But before you do jump just remember this, we are still in first place and have a few games left to play. This loss will make us stronger and I think we will see this next game. The team doesnt like to get a butt kicking like we got today. We were missing a few starters and Pittsburg is a great team. So hang in there we have a young team and they learned a good hard lesson today. Coach will keep them on the right track and we will get it going again....Hell what team doesnt have days like this, everyone has and does.. Quote
UK Bengal Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 no chance in hell im jumping i havent since 88 so why would i now we had too many mistakes in that game and deserved to lose but 5-2 is still a damn good record at this stage of the season easy schedule or not Quote
Ox Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 It sound slike a wheelbarrow of potatoes hitting the ground. Tis ok, just consider it cleaning out the rif-raf. Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 I dunno why anyone would be jumping off the bandwagon ofter this loss.We all knew going into the season that the run defense was suspect, right? And we all knew that the team would live and die by its offense, right?Well, there ya go. Let's just hope the O pulls its act together before next week, because Farve can still put up points. Quote
kingwilly Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 I don't think that anyone is jumping off. What I hear and see is true fans wondering why the problems that exist still persist. Given the performance today, it is justified. Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 What I hear and see is true fans wondering why the problems that exist still persist.Well, at least as far as the run D is concerned...Bengals didn't do much to fix it in the offseason. We swapped the aging Tony Williams for the aging Bryan Robinson, and threw a couple of rooks in at LB. Quote
Stripes Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 I don't think anyone is jumping off of the bandwagon either. We played a terrible game today, and everyone is likely to be grouchy about it for a little while. Quote
derekshank Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 Jump? no way. 10-6 seems like a worst case scenario at this point... and given that is what I projected us as at the beginning of the season, I see no reason to start jumping. Just a really disappointing loss, to a team we all hate. These ones hurt a lot more than the normal ones, but Pittsburgh is a good team. Quote
BengalPappaw Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 Hell NO!Pass the Kool aid -- I'm still ready to make the palyoffs.I do believe we are seeing the "potential" of the Bengals AND the risk of young players. I still believe we are a good team -- not great -- well at least not yet! Quote
cincy9275 Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 i'm not going anywhere . we played a really poor game got our butts handed to us . our run d is becoming a real problem we must get it fixed . and we have to stop shoting our self in the foot with dropped passes, ints , penalties, play calling, bad s/t play . and it is very key that our offense put up points, our d is much better playing with a lead . we still are young and some times it shows . i think we are just as talented as anybody in the games we are just not playing up to par . i could go on but i don't want to be a bore. so lets get these guys back on track marvin and smash the packers GO BENGALS !!!!!!!!! Today, they did not do what they have to do.It will be no different next week or the 9 after that. Quote
Benzoo Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 5-2 is 5-2.Anyone that didn't expect the pitfalls that come with a young linebacking corps, and a leaky defensive line wasn't paying attention. That defense was manhandled, and when the offense coughs it up, chokes and sputters against a traditionally formidable defensive unit, it makes an outcome like today's not surprising. They'll continue to evolve, and games like today actually help the process.I'm enjoying watching this team grow, and I know there will be a day when they give it right back to the Steelers.I'm here now.I always have been.I'll be there when it all comes to fruition.I've got no time to worry about all of that bandwagon stuff. rizzy Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 The people that are jumping the bandwagon are the ones who just started liking Cincy. None of the fans that have truly stuck with them thru the bad times are not going anywhere. Anyone posting on this message board is a true fan, you wouldn't be posting if you didn't care. If this loss got rid of all the little poser Bengal fans then I am glad we lost this one. Quote
Jet23 Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 Jump the band wagon? Hell, I survived the David Shula era (and yes I have a t-shirt), this is nothing. So the Bengals aren't as good as the Steelers. Neither are about 27 other teams. This is a team that should improve as the year goes on. If they are able to catch fire the way they did at the end of last year, look out. The only thing they can do is beat the teams they are suppose to beat and hope they have improved enough by the stretch run to make the playoffs and hopefully make some noise. I know many people (including myself) were using this game as a measuring stick. We now know where they are, so they will go back to work and try to get better. Reality was a bitter pill to swallow though. That is for sure. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 Not a chance in hell !!! For as majorly pissed off I am right now about the game, I know we are going to the playoffs one way or another and think we will come back strong next week...WHODEY !!! Quote
