BengalsMan3203
Both Jaws and Mort had the Bengals Rated 3rd in the league. While Mr. Irving goes with the Bengals as 2nd in the league.....All 3 of them want us to stop the run on Sunday.I also beleive Mort said "I'll be in the Bengals Locker Room Sunday..." I can't remember the rest but it sounded like he picked the Bengals to win.
turningpoint
they didn't pick any winners, they just told us if we can stop the pitt run, they're believers.Jaworski, just said he'll be at the game on the sideline and in the locker room, i guess before or after or both.Anyways we'll be the #2 team in football garunteed if we beat the steelers Sunday.Colts I don't think will be losing anytime soon. BlainThePain
Rams are up 17-0 on the Colts. I believe this is the first time I have ever rooted for the Rams.

bengalindian
Thanks for that Shula, made my night. Also, I would have to agree with ya on that one Blain. Definitely the first time I've rooted for a team from St. Louis. Although it wouldn't be bad to have the Colts get their first loss at Cincy, a game which I will be attending! He has supported the Bengals for the past three years and always talks about how great of a job Marvin is doing.

The_Next_Big_Thing
Anyone notice that the Bengals were featured several times, including Odell's interception, during the MNF halftime recap of the weekend?
membengal
Anyone notice that the Bengals were featured several times, including Odell's interception, during the MNF halftime recap of the weekend?Missed that...but perhaps a nod to ABC kicking themselves over ignoring Cincy back when they were drawing up the schedule. bengalindian
And kicking themselves for not being able to pick their own MNF games later in the year. How good does the Colts-Bengals game look now. Or hell, either of the Steelers-Bengals games?
Stripes
That idea sounds good, but there are so many little things that go into making a Monday Night Football game work. First off, a team that is scheduled in the preseason for Monday Night is not likely to appreciate being cancelled. Also, how would ticket sales be handled on shorter notice? I know they find a way to do that for playoff games, so I suppose it is doable.

I know they find a way to do that for playoff games, so I suppose it is doable. They've talked about scheduling the first half of the MNF schedule before the season begins, then scheduling the second half during the season. Since there's 17 weeks, you could schedule weeks 1-9 after the previous year, thendetermine weeks 10-17 after week 8. That gives minimum two weeks notice to everybody, and allows for scheduling of better games later in the year.
derekshank
Really, it wouldn't be that big of a deal to just schedule every Monday night game 2 or 3 weeks in advance. This ensures that teams that are playing well get seen on prime time. This is better for the entire NFL, not just ABC. The NFL is already crazy popular... but how much better ratings would there be if they could ensure that the games that got picked for Monday nighters were really the best matchups each week. No one would be watching baseball playoffs (pretty much like it is now I guess). The first 3 weeks were good matchups, but last night was lame... because St.Louis is just not very good. Jax/Pit, KC/Wash TB/Mia or NE/Den all would have been better.Next week it is the Jets and Atlanta. You're telling me Cin/Pit or SD/Phi, or Den/NYG wouldn't all be better than that?Personally, I'm okay with Cincy not playing Monday night games, because I've heard it's harder on the players... but it seems to me that for the betterment of the league, you would put primetime games on primetime, not Sunday afternoon. Cincy will be playing several more primetime games this season... and not one of them will be shown on primetime. That is the NFL's loss.Doing it 3 or 4 weeks in advance is much more of an assurance that good games get played on Monday night. But if no one likes that... why not have 2 Monday night games, and then ABC could choose which one to cover. That would at least give a higher percentage shot at good games being televised on prime time.
San Antonio Bengal
Um the people that bought games for the orginally shceudale 1 pm game just use those tickets to get into the MNF game. It's not that simple. It may be that simple in the east where no one has to travel to far to get to the game, but it wouldn't work as well in places where the fan base is more spread out. For example, the Cowboys have a number of fans in the San Antonio area and even further to the south. The drive up to Dallas isn't that far, about 4 to 5 hours, but it's far enough to cause problems if the game is moved. It's very possible to do a day trip if you have a 12:00 or 3:00 game. For the 12:00 games, some will go up the night before and get a hotel room and then come back after the game.If you switch the game to Monday night, you can really mess up the travel plans of the people who had already bought tickets. Anyone who had booked a room for Saturday would have to change. Anyone who couldn't get out of work on Monday to leave early enough to get there would be out of luck. And with the game going on into the night, many of the out of towners would either be forced to stay in Dallas for the night and go back Tuesday or drive through the night back home. In either case, if you have to go to work Tuesday and there's no way out of it, you're again out of luck.It might seem weird, but if I had tickets for either Dallas or Houston and the game was moved to Monday night, I'd probably have to sell my tickets. For people in the greater metro area of a team, moving the game is no problem. For people farther away, it can be a big problem.
