Stripes
No doubt, they should at least be improved over their terrible play the last few weeks. Still, the Bengals won't let anyone sneak up on them, and this is in Cincinnati. I'd be much more worried about this being a trap game if it were to be played in Houston. NYBengalfan
Yes with te bye week the Texans had an extra week to prepare for us. It will be close at halftime, BUT I see us running away with it in the second half.HALFTIME: texans 10 bengals 17FINAL: texans 13 bengals
CBin2k7
The Texans spent their extra week trying to figure out a new offensive coordinator. Their O-line is pathetic. I think our corners will have trouble with A. Johnson, but David Carr may not have enough time to get the ball to him, expect the house to come at Carr in bunches. More turnovers and a beating for the Texans.
buck3y3d
I don't think there is anyway the Bengals lose this game. The game is at home, big crowd, big win. The O could put up 40 (50 if Marvin didn't play respectfully - which i'm glad he does), and the defense should have no trouble picking off Carr, even if they do allow some running yards. This should be a blowout.
Lita
If nothing else... Palmer to CJ is more of a threat than Carr to Andre. Rudi's better than Dominick (that's the Texan's RB, right?). Our OL is better than Houston's OL. And then our entire Defense is probably better than the entire Texans' defense. And we're playing at home. We'll only lose this game if we give it away.And.. I.. guess Cincy is due... Oh well, here's to hoping!
DesperateDerelict
The key this Sunday is SACKS!!! David Carr has been on his back more this month than a Tijuana whore, and has therefore been able to sustain any kind of passing threat. Our DL, and especially our DE's, need to pick up their game if we're to 'dominate' the Texans!WHO DEY!
JPW
The Texans spent part of their extra week seeking shelter from the storm. They sent their players home after practice last Wednesday and won't have them back until tomorrow (Tuesday).houstontexans.com (link)as Hurricane Rita churns in the Gulf of Mexico with the Texas coast in its sights, the Texans aren't taking any chances. After finishing practice Wednesday, head coach Dom Capers told his players that tomorrow's practice was cancelled.NFL.com (link)Texans to resume practice on Sept. 27 NFL.com wire reports HOUSTON (Sept. 25, 2005) -- The Houston Texans will not have to resort to a plan that would have had them spending the week in Cincinnati after Houston was spared a direct hit by Hurricane Rita. The Texans will take Sept. 26 off because of gas and transportation problems in the area and resume practice the next day, the team announced on its web site. Houston has a bye this week and travels to face the Bengals Oct. 2.
NJ29
This will not be a close game. The secondary isn't as good as Chicago's they have a horrible O-Line, they'll get pressure on Carr, and he'll either get sacked, throw a pick, or throw checkdowns all day. The 3-4 doesn't have a plugger at the Nose, so we can run. Not a tuffy at all.
redsfan2
I have to admit that I like the Texans in general and Carr in particular. He's a good qb and has a lot of heart to boot. His first year he set the record for sacks in a season. He keeps coming back .. doens't bitch or complain and plays his ass off. We'll beat them ... probably pretty good too ... but we'll have .. to ... beat .. them ... Cause they won't quit.
kingwilly
I agree that Carr has heart...in this league, that and $1.80 gets your a venti starbucks. His O-line is about the worst in football. He will be sacked early and often. I see this being scripted about the way the Minny game went, except the Minny D was better than average.CIN 44 - HOU
HoosierCat
It's definitely a trap game. Fortunately, the Marvin Lewis brainwashing program seems to have been a complete success. But that will be tested. My guess...Bengals by about 17 points.

Looks like the guys in Vegas don't see this as a trap game, I think we're just naturally paranoid Bengals fans. Let's kick the crap out of them. Yeah, it doesn't matter if he has heart as long as he has ass, because that's what he's going to be sitting on all day. I feel bad for the guy, the talking heads are suggesting he's a bust, but he's never gotten a chance to throw without getting killed. What I don't understand is why it's taken them so long to build any kind of an O-line. San Antonio Bengal
The Texans have quality players and weapons on their team. However, their achilles heel is their O-line. If the O-line keeps breaking down, Davis won't have the opportunity to establish the running game and Carr will be constantly hurried. Even though they had a bye week, it was a very unusual week because of the change at OC and at having to deal with hurricane Rita coming through. I still think that there will be a good chance for some broken plays if for no other reason than the change at OC. I can see our D doing to Carr what it did to Culpepper and Orton. Even with time, Carr hasn't looked sharp. That pitiful O-line throws everything else out of kilter. Cincy's offense will put up points on the Texans D. The only question is really how many points the Texans will score. My prediction: Bengals get off to a fast start, Texans go pass wacky and we get another slew of interceptions and go on to victory. 34 - 10 Bengals win. Who Freakin Dey. They promoted the offensive line coach - the same one responsible for David Carr's date with a body cast in a few years. The only thing I'd rather not see is the Bengals hitting teams coming off bye weeks. Otherwise, that team wins 2-5 games this year.

You should seek psychiatric counseling for BUNGLIETY, the irrational fear that this team will return to the ways of previous Bengals team. Take two Prozac and wash them down with a beer and call me Monday moring when the Bengals will have put up at least 30 points. Their defense is giving over 400 yds per game, well balanced between rushing and passing.I expect 150 yds from Rudi, and 350 yds passing from Carson.
