duus Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 I realize it's probably not the best place in the world to ask, but you guys always seem to know. Last week I had such a great time listening to 1360Homer during pregrame and game (I live in Pittsburgh). I was listening, and over the last 15 minutes or so, it has gone silent. Can anyone else confirm a problem, or ... uh ... (man I hope not) ... that they are not permitted to air all of a sudden? Hoping to hear the home opener! Quote
alleycat Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 Yes, it's happened a couple of times in preseason, too. I try wofx and go back and forth, although they have gone silent at the same time before. Then I'm stuck on the NFL gamecenter. Quote
membengal Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 I am pretty sure the NFL is controlling these signals during games during the regular season like MLB does baseball games. I think you have to pay at nfl.com to get the streams... Quote
duus Posted September 18, 2005 Author Report Posted September 18, 2005 Well, I listened to the entire game last week. Quote
membengal Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 Well, I listened to the entire game last week. Always a chance that was a one-time freebie from NFL. Dunno. It's gone now I guess, check nfl.com and see what is being said there? Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 Even if homer was prohibited from streaming the games (and I don't believe they are) they would not be prohibited from streaming the pregame show. Something is effed up with the stream. Quote
AGrizzlyBaer Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 naw dude i got it free all last year. try wtue if the two clear channel stations die out Quote
AGrizzlyBaer Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 any one try wtue or the fox and just get classic rock? im starting to get worried... Quote
San Antonio Bengal Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 The NFL isn't blocking stuff. I'm able to bring up our local Texans affliate without any problems. However, I still can't get either 1360 or 92.5 to work... Quote

However, I still can't get either 1360 or 92.5 to work... I think they are. I can't get the Homer out here in Arizona here either. I think if the game is being televised in your area, then you probably can hear the streamed audio too. No TV? Then no radio. a**h***s. Quote
AGrizzlyBaer Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 but the game was sold out so there was tv... Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 but the game was sold out so there was tv... It may depend your ISP. Your internet service providers location in most likely the point where the NFL's filter is applied. To break it down to individual user level would be an incredible workload. Quote
San Antonio Bengal Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 I still don't get what's going on. The Texans game is over and my local station is now over on the Jets-Dolphins game. Of course, it's the national game (Westwood One), but if there were some kind of block in place, I shouldn't be able to hear this because I'm waaaay outside both markets. Quote

If it's a "Nationally" televised game, why wouldn't it be okay for radio to go national on it as well? The teams individual markets wouldn't be a factor. Quote
San Antonio Bengal Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 But I could still listen to the Texans-Steelers game which is far from national. Quote
Chucktkd Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 I was listening to the game on 1360 as well and lost it at the start of the second half and tried several different stations from "The Game Live." Then I was told about http://www.wlap.com/main.htmland it was working while the ohters were not. Quote

A great site for Kentucky Wildcats fans no doubt, (it'll go into my favs for that alone) but all I saw was a link to the Bengals home website, Quote
Columbusbengal Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 I wanted to listen to the morning show on 1360 because of all the Bengals talk. The station stream still isn't working. I sent an e-mail to the tech support address asking if anything was wrong and would it be fixed. Haven't heard back yet, but it clearly isn't something the NFL is doing. Quote
