TJJackson Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 He provided me with one of my greatest Bengals memories - defeating the previously undefeated Kansas City Chiefs in 2003. What a hell of a game he had that day.Mr Warrick - you will always have my respect and thanks. Good luck wherever you go.......unless it is in the AFC North :-) I don't want the Bengals dbs to try to have to cover you Quote
Stripes Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 I wonder what Peter King will think about the decision to cut Warrick. Probably that it was idiotic, moronic, retarded, foolish, and any other adjectives I forgot. Because he's dumb. Quote
combatbengal Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Good luck PW. Atleast he wasn't like Pickens or Dillon. He wanted to play for Cincy. Quote
dave Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 I wonder what Peter King will think about the decision to cut Warrick. Mary Beth King started her first economics class at Tufts this week. She thought it would be a breeze -- after all, you know that she's always done well in mathematics -- but she has struggled during this first week. But she is promising to buckle down hard -- much like Brett Favre or Bill Belichick do when the chips are down -- and I'm sure she'll pull through fine. Stay tuned. As for PW, my guess is that he'll get picked up and then dropped again before the year is up. Someone is going to take a chance on him because of his potential and then learn that he doesn't have the wheels any more. If he was healthy, Marvin would've been using him, but it seems clear that he can't practice every day. Quote
BengalPappaw Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 I hope that the release of PW is an ML decision and NOT a Mikee Brown-- lets save money, because the other WR are good enough (for their price) decision. After all these years as a Bengals fans I am "almost" paranoid! Good luck P-Dub -- I enjoyed having you here. You were a special receiver and I hope you can get back to that level again. :player: Quote
HairOnFire Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Warrick has already been contacted by the Patriots. Let's see what happens. Quote
bengalindian Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Yeah, as Hair mentioned, the Patriots are interested in Pdub. Though I want to see Pdub have success elsewhere, I was really hoping he did it in the NFC, not for the freakin Patriot Dynasty. Let's hope he goes to the 49ers or somewhere inconspicuous. Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Warrick has already been contacted by the Patriots. Let's see what happens. That figures. Quote
cbGALfan Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 OK, THIS IS MY FIRST POST HERE SO BARE WITH ME.I'M TOTALLY SHOCKED ABOUT P-DUB!! BUT WE NEED TO MOVE ON& HAVE SOME CONFIDENCE IN ML UNLESS WE FIND OUT IT ENDS UPBEING A MONEY THING WITH MIKE BROWN. THEN THE BASHING WILLBEGIN!!! BEST OF LUCK P-DUB & THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES, ESPECIALLYTHE '03 KC CHIEFS GAME, I WAS THERE & LOVED EVERY MOMENT OF IT!! Quote
The Big Orange Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Welcome, galfan...There is a button right between tab and shift...do me a favor, press on that once for me...okay, thanks, otherwise, it feels like you are yelling at me and I am very sensitive.Besides that, welcome, heathen. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Welcome, galfan...There is a button right between tab and shift...do me a favor, press on that once for me...okay, thanks, otherwise, it feels like you are yelling at me and I am very sensitive.Besides that, welcome, heathen. Nice way of saying TURN YOUR CAPS LOCK OFF BEFORE BIG ORANGE SITS ON YOU! Quote
cbGALfan Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Oops, sorry big orange! But a male be sensitive? I'm not sure about that one!Ok, ok, I won't start bashing you, I don't know you, "yet"! Quote
Bengal Joe Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 I'm dissapointed about Warrick, but if they get Simon it will all be forgotten. Plus, I trust ML. What makes me more pissed is that my only Bengals jersey is a Warrick jersey. Question: Is it now unacceptable to wear it to games or is it okay because he left in a jerk free fasion unlike Dillon. Quote
cbGALfan Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 I say wear it, it's still a bengal jersey, gotta show spirit! Quote
tibor75 Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Number of seasons over 1000 yards? ZERONumber of seasons over 10 TDs? ZERONumber of seasons as one of the elite punt returners? ZERONumber of pro bowls? ZERoWhat a waste of a high draft pick. THis bum will be out of the league in a year. So long. Quote
LesterLyles Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Serves this punk right. He stabbed Lav Coles in the back at FSU. Coles is having the last laugh all the way to the bank! Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Tibor, I almost agree with you. I too think he's a bust. However, we love Pdub for his one game in Kansas City, and can forgive his mighty bustness because he really did have CRAP for QBs during his career does have a point. However, Kirk maintains he wasn't a true #1. Unfortunately, that isn't true. He was indeed Pdubbed the #1 WR in his rookie year, and every year after that, including the year Chad Johnson was drafted. Quote
andybren Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Warrick didn't live up to expectations, but he still had that potential to blow stuff up. In my book, a healthy Warrick is worth keeping around for 2 or 3 big plays. But then, I suppose he wasn't all that healthy. Shame to see him go. Let's hope the 2 KDub's can fill his shoes.I don't follow where everybody thinks there's a legitimate chance of Marvin signing Corey Simon. Consider the following...1. Marvin doesn't overpay for free agents (see Sapp, et al.)2. The Bengals and Eagles had a deal worked out but couldn't get Simon to agree to the financials.3. Mike Brown is cheap.4. Several current Bengals will need new, more expensive deals very soon.5. Mike Brown is cheap.6. Until Warrick signs somewhere else, the Bengals are still on the hook for his $2.2 million. 7. If Warrick isn't healthy, he may not be able to sign anywhere for several weeks.8. Mike Brown is cheap.I didn't expect Warrick to get cut, so clearly my precognitive abilities are lacking. But I just don't see the Bengals signing anybody that warrants a mention on SportsCenter. Not now. Quote
markymark69 Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 I hate it that Warrick could not get healthy enough to make this move unneccessary. If he had been healthy, I don't believe this move would've been made. I like the defensive signings. Ohalete and Navies are solid players and should help us. Quote
Kazkal Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 good luck warrick you'll be missed(Plz don't sign with a afcn team ) Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 6. Until Warrick signs somewhere else, the Bengals are still on the hook for his $2.2 million. . Not now. Homie don't think so. We will have a portion of his signing bonus we still have to pay for. The bulk of it, his salary, he loses. He never played a regular season game this season. Quote
ThicknThin Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 I have been a Bengals fan through the thin years and hopefully the thick or plentiful years. However, I hope the winers and those who because the headlines say they will win believe other teams lie down and let them win will pay notice. I am refering to the Pac 10 players on this squad. They are the ones who keep saying "everything will be ok" and "we are worked too hard". A true pro shuts his mouth and proves the belong by his performance. An example the Packers of Lombardi.Go Bengals. Quote
HairOnFire Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Stink, the ex-Bronco offensive lineman who is now an ESPN talking head, and whose actual name I am about to butcher, Mark Schlereth?, just said on the Dan Patrick show that his sources on the Bengals are saddened by the cut because they know what Warrick was capable of, and they respect how hard he worked trying to get back, but injury concerns completely dictated the cut. As always, take it for whatever it might be worth. Quote
KiLBurn Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 I wish they would have done this last year. They knew about his knee back to last preseason. Not hating on Pete but if you can't play, you are just wasting a roster spot. Sadly, I think we may be seeing one Caleb Miller on the block this Saturday for the same reasons... We picked up Navies so we can cut someone... Miller is the current weak link at LB. Quote
KiLBurn Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Oh yeah... I almost forgot... I told you so!! Quote
