I think it sounds like guys will have to perform at the highest level to get on and stay on the field. I think that sounds like EXACTLY what ML has envisioned for his ball club. Speaking as one Bengals fan who got way tired of guys feeling entitled to playing time based on contract status during the decade of despair...count me as very unconcerned about this and actually pretty pumped about that development. bengalskyspy
I agree. I think ML has stirred up the hornet's nest, and the Bengals are going come out and sting some defenses with an insane passing attack, balanced by a solid running game. bengalskyspy
The rest of the article a bit more edge, with quotes from P-dub and CJ, and a virtual rant from KW. I hope the squirrel takes this as a wake-up call, but it sounded a little whiny to me. Maybe he sees the writing on the wall, as in ML saying he would need to "prove us wrong." Meaning, prove to us you are not the bust you appear to be, and don't be surprised if Chris Henry flips you the bird after he runs over your ridiculous squirrel woody act. ShulaSteakhouse
Squirrel man is definitely feeling the heat - depending on how Henry performs I don't see where he fits in on this roster at all now - as he'll be battling for the 4th spot if Warrick is healthy and I'm sure he never envisioned himself doing that.I really think you need a guy like Warrick to compliment the size and speed of the others...someone who can create and run after the catch and give the defensive coaches fits with coverages. You cannot cover CJ, TJ and Warrick when they're on the field at the same time - you cannot cover all of them and someone will be open if Carson has time to throw, it's that simple - they will be unstoppable.Henry and/or Washington are nice to have if someone goes down with an injury though, as is Perry hopefully. If Warrick can't come back consistently and be what he was then that's an entirely different story I guess.
jonf45uk
totally agree with the above, if all our wrs are healthy , and they give palmer good protection, they should be unstoppable. the competition has got to be good for the team and any professional sportsman should want to rise to the challenge rather than moaning about it. i think its the best group of recievers i've ever seen at the club and i just hope they show the pride and play to their best abilities.would you rather be a 4th/5th reciever on a championship team or a 2nd/3rd on an average team?? The Big Orange
Is it just me but on the new bengals pics in the enquirer and the new training session clips and bengals.com, Warrisk looks like he's put on at least 10 lbs of muscle. He almost looks Hines Wardish...look out.

kingwilly
A few things.I watched the videos. Man does our WR corp look tight. CJ is just goofing and is quicker, faster and tighter than the others, flat out on another level.KW looks fit and quick. Henry seems a bit tentative...the rest look solid.I agree that there will be some massive stats put up by the offense, so please God help the D improve or we may be the next KC.As far as Hobson's writing, he tries hard but just flat out stinks. Typo's, poor analogies and useless rambling...whoever pays this guys clearly does not read what is being written. Ugh!

sodikart
Just throwing out an idea. So please don't get all crazy. If Warrick gains more weight what about him at tight end or something. He is already one of the better run blocking receivers we have so have him maybe bulk up a little bit more. But i don't necessarily thing he could be 250 but hey its an idea. That would just open up more spots at wide receiver and have him and schobel has our tight ends. Just an idea....

I think if Kitna put on a few pounds he would make a great TE as well.Oh wait, we already have three tight ends who fill their roles perfectly. Ickeyshuffler
I dunno about Warrick as a real tight end, but with him in the slot he sort of plays the same way (over the middle, etc.) anyway. And he's quite a blocker for a WR - so in a way we have a pseudo-tight end who lines up way further off tackle than most already. I think for standard purposes the guys we have are OK -- Stewart and Kelly can block and if it's obvious anyway we're going to pass it would be awesome to have CJ, TJ, Warrick, and Shoebel on the field at the same time. Hard to cover them all.

Sox
KW looks fit and quick. Henry seems a bit tentative...the rest look solid.I watched it also, but I need to go Kerry on your opinion.I thought Henry looked good,he was yelled at for slowing down once, but that was because TJ ran in front of him.Next time he'll run it out.The biggest knock on KW on the other hand has been his route running. He doesn't look like he has improved. He knocked a cone over in two of the three first drills, and gets yelled at for running at an angle instead of towards the QB on the comeback drill. This is year three. He should have mastered the comeback drill by now.
kingwilly
True. KW did knock the cones down several times, maybe just trying too hard. You have to admit he looks quicker than most though. He looks downright lethal in a T.O or old David Boston sort of way. Let's just make sure noone tells HIM this or his ego may inflate.Henry just had a slight hesitation to me, maybe just nerves getting used to the environment. The time when TJ is in the way during the drill you could tell he just held up because TJ flubbed the drill. But during the drills and the older video when they run the footwork cone drill he looks unsure and tentative. Wait till they give him a playbook! I am pulling for you Chris!I'm not trying to knock Chris henry at all, just making an observation. Overall, our WR corp is going to rock like never before.
