Whur CHad At? Posted April 8, 2005 Report Posted April 8, 2005 No one is going to be scared of a Rookie. Yes Sharper is 30, so is Ray Lewis. Sharper does strike fear in his opponets. He is a psycho who brings it every down. Have you ever seen him play? He causes turnovers, gets to the quarterback, he is a huge prescence in the middle. Many people would be afraid of him. Quote

He has played middle linebacker and outside linebacker in his eight-year NFL career, and the Seahawks have a need at both spots after they released Anthony Simmons and Orlando Huff signed with the Arizona Cardinals.Sharper also visited the Seahawks in 2000, but then re-signed with the Baltimore Ravens. The Houston Texans selected Sharper in the 2002 expansion draft, but they released him last week in a move that freed almost $5 million under their salary cap.He met Wednesday with the Cincinnati Bengals, whose coach, Herman Edwards, is the former defensive coordinator for the Ravens. Sharper also is drawing interest from the Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns. The Seahawks obviously plan to make their best pitch to Sharper, as well, as they continue to try to upgrade a defense that ranked 26th in the league last season. He will visit the team's headquarters today to meet with other coaches and staff members.Sharper did not miss a start in three seasons with the Texans, when he played middle linebacker. He missed only one start in five seasons while playing outside linebacker for the Ravens. Quote

HairOnFire Posted April 8, 2005 Report Posted April 8, 2005 No one is going to be scared of a Rookie. Thurman over Sharper? I mean no disrespect, but I think we all have to come to grips with the high probability that Chrishcovga now suffers from a terminal case of ESDD....less commonly known as End Stage Draft Disease. (((GASP!))) There's no cure for ESDD. Once things have progressed from PGS (Pretty Girl Syndrome) into full blown draft disease....well....it's not a pretty sight. Angry blowups with fellow draft gurus are common as territory is marked with angry words & sprayed urine. As we see so often in nature, the guru who pees highest on the bush or tree usually wins, claims a favorite draft prospect as his mate, breeds violently, and then immediately dies. This death allows the new draft choice to feed upon the host body....ensuring a fine rookie season. Prior to death warning signs include genitalia swelling to obscene sizes before morphing into vibrant colors....usually red or blue. In rare examples, small feathers have been known to sprout around the button. (Belly type) Sadly, ESDD is not like my own temporary case of FAF (Free Agent Fever) which can be treated with copius amounts of somebody elses cash. Nor is it like DPM (Dillon/Perry Madness) which can be safely ignored....or WBD (Wet Blanket Disease) which can be easily cured by adding large amounts of cheese to the patients food. Quote

I guess the proposed deal is Marvin for Herman and the Jets 2nd rd pick! Now we trade our 1st and one of our 2 seconds to go up and select Derrick Johnson! Or Maybe Even Braylon Edwards or Mike Williams! Quote
HairOnFire Posted April 8, 2005 Report Posted April 8, 2005 Well I hope you guys are happy now that you've ruined a perfectly good thread. Hopefully we'll soon have another one entitled..."Sharper signs with Bengals, Joisey rendered speechless."....but who knows if we'll ever get that chance? As for the avatar request, I've grown very fond of the old school helmet. It's SO me, and IMHO far better than some angry muppet that until yesterday I had never heard of. That said, money talks. How badly do you want the heat miser? Quote

Kirkendall Posted April 8, 2005 Report Posted April 8, 2005 Here's the latest via Bengals.com:The agent for linebacker Jamie Sharper emerged from negotiations in Seattle Friday to say the Bengals are still in the derby. But Tony Agnone, scheduled to fly back to Maryland within the hour, also said he's looking to have a deal done by Monday and wouldn't rule out other teams. He also said Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis put on an impressive presentation that was reinforced in dinner with fellow Virginia native Rudi Johnson, and that Sharper got a lot out of Wednesday's visit."You know Marvin is always impressive and I think he was right to have Jamie come in," Agnone said. "He knew Marvin and all that (from their five seasons in Baltimore), but Jamie really enjoyed meeting with (defensive coordinator) Chuck Bresnahan and it was great that he could get together with Rudi Johnson." Thanks Kirk, had not seen that yet.Still in the running heading into the weekend, sounds like ML is still chewing over whether to make a final push for him. I would be just fine with Landon in the middle and Sharper and Simmons on the outside...indeed, that would be hella swell. Quote
