ShulaSteakhouse
TD Jets, game over. This is one of the worst defensive performances I have ever seen in my lifetime, EVER. Absolutely pathetic. And what is with Nate Webster? This guy can't do anything. They did miss Simmons and O'Neal badly today. Someone get us a defensive coordinator, I don't know what in the hell the problem is exactly. Frustrating to watch.

B24
It's a loss, but a lot of good things seen out of Palmer today. The defense really needs some work.
schweinhart
Just not quite enough air under it. Jets FS made a good break on the ball.Excellent show by Carson and receivers.Special teams was solid.Pretty much everything else sucked. BengalszoneBilly
I'm confused. How in the world can a defensive unit look so competent against a team like the Pats, (save your preseason comments please) then go to New York and look absolutely pathetic!?!Well it wasn't the offenses fault the Bengals lost, even with Rudi's fumble. The reason is the (alleged) defense is without direction as it ever was. If I was Marvin, I'd have the Bengals defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier standing tall in my office first thing monday morning! I'd ask him to kindly explain the failure of his unit to show ANY improvement since last season, and precisely how he plans to rectify this unexceptable situation. I wouldn't want to hear any injury excuses, because the unit didn't fail on the individual level. The entire defensive scheme created and put into place by him was totally out of position the whole game! The few times the defense did hold the Jets and force them to punt I think was more error on the Jets part than execution on the Bengals!Damn...if the defense only looked a fraction as good as the offense, the Bengals would have won this game. Easily. Obviously Mr. Frazier is on status with me. If there is no perceptible improvement by the "D" and SOON, I'll be the leader in calling for his replacement! Maybe Marvin should just tell Leslie to take a seat, and watch how a man who has guided league leading defenses works! Maybe then he'd have a better concept on how he's supposed to do his job, because presently he is simply clueless! Amazingly, I thought if Cincy was to lose in New York, it would be because of mistakes by our young and inexperienced QB. Well it was quite the opposite! The performance of the offense, especially Carson Palmers, is VERY heartening. I was very apprehensive about how he would handle all the different sets, blitzes, varied looks, and trick schemes the Jets would (and certainly did!) throw at him, and he did better than I could have ever imagined! That boy makes me proud of the risk I took in picking him in my fantasy football leagues! That arm of his is worth a fortune, and growing in value each game! Here's a hint to any bettors out there. In all future Bengal games...BET THE OVER!!
Bobcat Bengal
Okay, I don't know if this has already been stated, but this thread is long enough as it is, and I'm borderline drunk and about to pass out so, here's my 2 cents:Palmer played great, real good. He threw it away when it didn't work, and as far as that late game INT, no biggie. I don't blame it on him at all. If it woulda gotten there a millisecond earlier, Johnson woulda caught it. And two, if the !@#$%()* defense coulda stopped ANYONE.....they wouldn'tve relied on Palmer in the first place.3 key points in the gameI'm not sure which drive, but the one where there where TWO holding calls consecutively! What the f**k! Bobbie Williams (Who the Eagles fans were telling me would get called for holding a lot in the season) committed the first one, then Big Willie, of ALL people, giving up the holding call when Palmer hit the long strike to Chad. That stalled our drive pretty damn well right there. When Johnson fumbled the ball and had it returned for a TD. I dunno whats up with Johnson, but he didnt look sharp at all, save for the beginning of the game. They really put the clamps down on ol boy....whew!What the f**k was up with that bogus ass fumble call!?! Who has EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER seen a play called like that? They admitted it was a fumble, but it only resulted in a five yard loss?!? And then on that same drive, Curtis Martin promptly goes and leaps BEHIND the Plyon for a TD. ( I really wished they would've Challenged that one....I promise he didn't break the end zone)Those were turning points in the game, IMO. Palmer, kudos to you my man. That strike to Chad was Bee-Yoo-Tif-Full....Exactly what Kitna couldn't do....whoa Damn, I hope that's the preview of things to come from you man, you did a great job all day! Too bad the INT threw us out the game....ah well, people expected a lot worse from you all day though....Lastly, that defense couldn't stop anyone. They (Jets) did, by the words of Eminem "whatever they want, however they want, whenever they want, however they want, whenever they want" I'm talking about Doggy STyle, Missionary, ass up, face-down, ugh..... Where ya at Barbarian?
Bobcat Bengal
Kenny Watson, baby. TD 21-17Rudi ain't working 19-45. Put Kenny in for awhile and see what goes. Kenny did mix it up when he was in there though, I will admit.Alls I gotta say is, I hope Perry is ready next week....I know its early in the season, but maybe there is some validity as to why the Bengals selected a RB in the first round this year....Yeah, I know, the sky isn't falling yet.... I tell you what though, you can FORGET playoffs if our D continues to play like it did this week.I bet Coach Lewis is either: Lost his voice from cursing those muthaf**kers out, or like me, on the verge of passing out from drinking too much....I'm just suprised I'm composed enough to be writing this much, this late.... Let's look on the bright side though, tomorrow we're at home, and we're playing the Dolphins. They're even more pathetic looking than us right now (at least our Defense anyway). That might be a chance for redemption right there. Who Dey! :player:
jditty47
their secondary is stronger than the jets and we'll need rudi to run a ton better than he did yesterday. martin's diving td was a td, all he has to do is have the ball cross over the pylon which it did. the fumble was bs and shoulda been our ball. how u gonna call the fumble and say the whistle blew while its live? f*ckin garbage call.
