Can't get over that first botched attempt on 4th down.  On the 20, easy field goal - or maybe Zac trusts the kicker even less than we thought?  You need 1 yard, what do you call?  A run.  Who could have figgered such a play?  How tricky!  Oh wait, a run straight up the middle!  Wow even trickier!  No one and I mean NO ONE could have predicted that!  Oh wait again, isn't that what we do every time - run into a brick wall and hope he bounces off, spins towards the sidelines and in for the score!  Drat failed again...  Went for it 3 times on 4th down, one was successful so keep doing it!  Sssiigghhh....

In all seriousness, I don’t fault folks for rooting for the L and a higher draft pick. The playoffs remain a longshot.

My mindset is: priority number one is to get Joe Burrow into the postseason, because in the postseason he can beat anyone.

Even at what might be 1 in 5 odds, generously, if they win next week — that’s more important to me than a few ranks of draft position.

The bigger problem with winning now is that it might make the front office believe nothing needs to change. I still want everyone fired.

Agreed Stripes, Mike just needs a plausible excuse to do his favorite thing, which is nothing.  A defense on the upswing could save Lou’s job, a 5 game winning streak could save Pollack’s job.

I root for the bengals to win, with the exception of the get Burrow tank job.  I was all in on those losses.

Oh I know, I’m just being a dick. Starting in January I got 12 more months before my age starts with a 6 and this whole December heroics thing to make sure nothing changes has just run its course with me. Joe is amazing, half man, half god, half possible centaur, I don’t know but I wish he was my dad. But the Curse of September has undone him again. Maybe next year, heaven grant I see it.

I figured after last week’s win that the draft pick was a big whatever anyway. Might as well get to the last week of the year with a shot at the playoffs.

Both the Dolphins and Colts have QB’s out and other injuries. Both could lose their games on the road tomorrow. If not, there’s always next week.

Do the Chiefs rest starters against the Broncos next week or do they go for the win, hoping the Bengals make it and manage to beat the Bills in the wild card? As much as the Bengals offense is good, the Chiefs have to look at the defense and like their odds.

However, the Bengals still need to find a way to beat the Steelers next week on the road. Not impossible, but certainly a tough task for this shitbag defense.

Again, I like having something to root for going into the last week. Fucking WHODEY !!

Oh, as for the draft, the top 10 are now closed off for us. On the positive side I think 18, the lowest non-playoff spot, is also out. After today are at 16.

Don’t worry, we’ll find the next Myles Murphy somewhere.

Today’s amazing fun fact I did not know: the final Higgins TD was the first OT touchdown scored by the offense (and only the second OT TD overall) in Bengals franchise history.

Two questions immediately arise:

1) How is it possible to play 44 OT games without scoring a single offensive touchdown? That is incredibly improbable.

2) How the hell did I have no clue this had never happened before? That should be some vaunted horrible curse that everyone speaks of in hushed tones.

My guess is that “Rookie Pool” had something to do with it.

Back away slowly and forget this conversation ever took place.

Now you’ve done it, you mentioned his name.

Enjoy the early games, fellas. I’m headed out to the theater again in a few, MIL wants to see A Complete Unknown. Should be back in time to see the clowns let us down.
