Week 6: Bengals @ Giants

If they had just half of what that defense did last night, we would probably be talking about a different team right now ugh!

While the DL was certainly better last night, I think the defense overall mostly benefited from who they faced. Jones isn’t a standout QB and was missing his best receiver and his starting RB. And there were still guys wide open in the secondary, Jones just missed them most of the time. There were some legit great plays too, I don’t want to sound too dismissive, but imo this d still needs a ton of work.

Agree but my main take away is that having our projected starting DT’s in Rankins and Hill made a big impact overall. No matter what else was going on with the defense, those two were visibly active up front.  It also appeared that Anarumo was switching things up with how they were bringing pressure last night.

Just hoping it continues.

Offensive missteps set that game up in the Giants favor regardless of who they had out.   They could just sit and pound the ball going for every 4th down and the offense could never push it to 2 score lead until under 2 minutes.

The offense scores more on the opportunities they had earlier in the game.   The D probably gets more big plays and in the process may have given up more yards.

The D never broke.  The only TD came off a fortuitous endzone PI.    If it always evens out, then the Bengals should be getting some the rest of the season.
