Bellichek gets stiff armed by the hall of fame, they didn’t put him in on his first ballot.  Complete rip off, but I guess there’s a bit of a popularity contest feel to that selection process.

He was in the same pool as Kenny so maybe it’s a good sign…?

ETA with more detail on voting from espn:

Quote

For the second year, the finalists in the coaches and contributor categories, Belichick and Kraft, are competing against three senior nominees. Because each voter can select only three finalists, multiple sources among the voters had predicted it was possible -- maybe even probable -- that Kraft could be elected but not Belichick, or vice versa.

As for the three senior nominees: Anderson is a four-time Pro Bowler for the Bengals who won the NFL MVP award in 1981. Craig, who played most of his career for the 49ers, is one of only three NFL players to amass 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in the same season. Greenwood was a member of the Steelers' vaunted "Steel Curtain" defense that won four Super Bowls in the 1970s.

So 40 votes needed, BB out, four possible inductees remaining, three could potentially get in...who wants to bet everyone but Kenny gets in?

Kraft didn't get in, either.

Kraft was one of five finalists among contributors, coaches and senior players who last appeared in a game in 2000 or earlier. Kraft was the contributor finalist and Belichick was the coach, with Roger Craig, Ken Anderson and L.C. Greenwood the players.

The 50 voters each pick three of the five finalists, and between one to three make it if they get at least 40 votes. If no candidate gets 40 votes, the top vote-getter will be elected.

Winner(s) announced Thursday night.

Also this is the perfect year for Kenny since all the media outlets can bitch about how this nobody Cincy qb who never won a Super Bowl got in snd not golden media gods like Kraft and bb.

Yes, nothing would please me more than seeing Kenny finally get into the Hall.

The amount of disrespect for Kenny's game is staggering.
While he might actually only be good enough for the Hall of Very Good, the same could be said for other Hall of Fame QB's that just happened to play on better all around teams.

Had the Bengals won Super Bowl XVI, Kenny would have been a lock.
They're saying he's not worthy and because he couldn't win that one game?
Just silly.

Not sure how Kenny ever gets in if he couldn't this time.

Agreed, this was a unique chance to get in based on the number of candidates and the negative consideration some of the other candidates received.  He’ll never get in.  Some of this is just the fact he played for the bengals.

Get ready for the Roger Craig selection...

Nailed it...

We should all just move on from this.  Kenny is never getting in.
One of the larger snubs from the Hall of Fame.
Agree with all of you.  It was this year or never.

Sorry Kenny, you will always be one of the all time greats to me !!
I appreciate him even greater for what he's done since his football career ended.
Just an all around good person.
