9 years ago today Harambe was assassinated at the Cincinnati Zoo.  The Bengals need to honor Harambe by including him in the Ring of Honor.

I would also fully be on board with a team name and logo change.  The Cincinnati Harambe.  (Yes, singular).  Obviously the logo is a huge badass silverback gorilla.  I know too much marketing, etc has gone into building the bengals brand to consider a change, and the nfl is loathe to make any changes to their money machine.

But if we were in a parallel universe where Mike could look beyond the beads on his abacus and the dollar signs they represent, this move would be a huge public relations coup.  We’d basically get constant media coverage for about a year.  Uniform change - National story.  Stadium changes - National story.  Logo contest - National story.  Positive feedback from animal rights groups - National story.

This seems far fetched but I would support it.  These NFL team names are played out and stale.  The bears and lions?  Who gives a fuck.

Oh by they way and I know this might be controversial but....

Fuck Harambe

This is an outrage.  Harambe represents all that is good in this world.
Dude was born into captivity, accepts that like a champ.  One day he’s just chilling out in the gorilla habitat, and some dumb shit kid who can’t behave himself falls in.  Hey Harambe, thanks for your service all these years.  Here’s a bullet in the head.

Maybe, just maybe, Harambe suffered from anxiety and depression.
Maybe he viewed that dumb shit kid with dumb shit parents as his way out.
Maybe he didn't accept captivity like a champ and was a miserable fucking gorilla who hated life.
He grabbed that dumb shit kid and waved him around like, "Go ahead and shoot me fuckers.  I DARE YOU" !!!

Next thing you know, BAM.  Harambe escapes his hellish existence and dies with a smile on his face.

Fuck him for taking the easy way out...

This reveals a diabolical pattern of thinking.  On your part, not Harambe’s.

Can they please get Lapham in there before he dies? That dude has meant a shit ton to this team as both a player and advocate.

Agree it’s tough to pick.

Parrish belongs in the hall of fame so I’m going with him as well.

Color me pleased with the outcome !!

Here we go again.

Former Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Geno Atkins is one of 13 players in their first year of eligibility to be nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026 in the Modern-Era category.

Former Bengals offensive lineman Willie Anderson and former Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly, a 2009 St. Xavier High School graduate, are automatically in the final 15 for the Class of 2026 since both reached the final seven stage for the Class of 2025. That list also consists of former wide receiver Torry Holt and former kicker Adam Vinatieri.

In addition to Geno and Willie, other Bengals on the initial list of 128 players are:

Corey Dillon

Chad Johnson

Justin Smith

Takeo Spikes

AJ Hawk, James Harrison, Richmond Webb and Lo Neal also up.

Former Cincinnati Bengals players Ken Anderson, Isaac Curtis and Lemar Parrish have advanced in the voting process for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026 in the Seniors category.

The Bengals greats are among 34 candidates being considered for election to the hall. The players advanced Thursday after a second reduction vote of candidates in the Seniors category.

With the emphasis on Super Bowls (CR), I’d expect Roger Craig and LC Greenwood to get in.  Third one will probably Joe Jacoby.  Kenny gets to stare into the abyss.

Kenny gets another chance to get hosed by the Hall.

Former Bengals quarterback Ken Anderson was in a group of five named Wednesday as senior finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026.

The group also includes running back Roger Craig, defensive end L.C. Greenwood, coach Bill Belichick and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

Each member of the selection committee may vote for only three of the five finalists and a maximum of three will be enshrined. If none of the five finalists receives at least 80 percent of the votes then the individual with the most votes will be elected to the Class of 2026.

When I think of potential next Bengal HOFer,  It goes like this

1. Ken Anderson - I think he's criminally overlooked and have lost hope it will ever happend - Already Ring of Honor inducted.

2. Willie Anderson - I hope this happens.  Completely deserving - Already Ring of Honor inducted.

3. Geno Atkins - All Decade Team.  He's deserving and when he comes up he'll at least get to the finals round which is a lot further than some of the 80s Bengals will get.

4. Andrew Whitworth - Deserving.  When he comes up he'll at least get as far as Willie Anderson has gotten.

Long story short.   Bengals will need to  figure out a way to have Atkins and Whit cut the line AT the same time their critical HOF voting is going on.

Anderson ×2 should already be in
