Related to the above, the Lions just gave Amon-Ra St. Brown a four year $120 million extension with $77 million guaranteed.

Just give Chase the money now, Mike. He ain’t gonna get any cheaper.

Price just went up again.

The Eagles and A.J. Brown have agreed on a three-year, $96 million extension that includes $84 million guaranteed, the star wide receiver's agent told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The $84 million is the most guaranteed money in NFL history for a wide receiver, surpassing the $77 million guaranteed that Amon-Ra St. Brown recently received from the Detroit Lions. The $32 million average annual value of the three-year extension also is the highest for any receiver in the NFL.

I saw that last night as well and can't for the life of me figure out what they are doing here.  Chase is just waiting and with each passing day, his contract just keeps rising and rising in dollars for the Bengals.  Makes me wonder if they have the coin for another large guaranteed amount and exactly the reason Higgins won't be here next year (sadly).

Allow me to come back to this for a quick minute.

I was watching the never ending coverage of how Burrow can now tie shoes, which will lead us back to the Super Bowl and noticed something...  Mike Gesicki is one big fucker !!!  6'6, 250lbs big.  I like that signing very much and if everyone is able to stay healthy, I expect him to have a pretty big impact on the offense this year.  Add in the other TE's in that room and that looks to be a pretty strong position group.

Really looking forward to seeing them use Gesicki this year.

While we're back here, it looks like the Boyd deal is finally done in Tennessee. One year, "up to" $4.5 million

Callahan has some toys to play with there now, that's for sure.

In Tennessee, Boyd will join a depth chart that already includes free agent addition Calvin Ridley, who signed a four-year, $92 million dollar deal in March, and five-time Pro Bowl selection DeAndre Hopkins. It also includes 2022 first-round pick Treylon Burks, whose future with the Titans has been a topic of speculation this offseason.

Of course, his QB is the mighty...Will Levis.

While I do not share some of the thoughts out there about Lee being a massive steal, I do think he has the potential to overcome his perceived weaknesses.  One of the big knocks on him was his weight, but at 6'4, it sounds like an NFL weight room and trainers will be able to help him gain weight solidly and not just add fat.  I'm excited for his future, but not if he were expected to start any time soon.

Tupou and Scharping are just getting ahead of the "turk".   They probably wisely looking at the numbers crunch and realizing they aren't making it.

3 interior DL added that are all making it.   Zac Carter a former 3rd but I think played more than Tupou is probably on his way out as a result.

With the OL.   Brown, Brown, Ford, and Mims.   Seem like a good bet for the 4 tackles.  So guard spots are going to get squeezed by former tackles trying to hang on (Carman, Smith).  Plus they'll have Lee or Hill trying to fit in there which ever one doesn't win back up Center job.   All 3 interior OL starting spots are locks.

There really is no excuse for Lou or Pollack to not have a top half unit this year.  Other than the injury factor.

I was taking another look at the free agent players we brought in and I really am excited about this group.

RT Trent Brown
DT Sheldon Rankins
SS Vonn Bell
RB Zack Moss
FS Geno Stone
TE Mike Gesicki
QB Logan Woodside

I'm completely thrilled with the thought of Stone and Bell as the starting safeties.
Battle competing for reps looks really good to me from a depth perspective as well.

Gesicki might be the guy I'm the most excited about.  Dude is going to be a difference maker at TE.
While there are still only so many balls to go around, I think he gets time in the slot, which makes this offense more interesting.
I think he's going to have a great year with Burrow.  Wish they would have signed him to a two year deal.

Trent Brown at RT also has me more geeked up about the o-line.  Mims coming waiting in the wings is exciting as well.
I really hope Volson can take the next step this year, they really need him to.  Cappa needs to stay healthy, along with everyone.

I think Rankins is a downgrade from Reader, but think he will suffice and have a solid year.
I don't dislike the rotation at the DT position with the addition of Jenkins in the 2nd round as well.

Zack Moss, while an uncertainty, is still intriguing to me as well.
If we get the Zack Moss that started 8 games when Jonathan Taylor went down for the Colts, we are set.
Couple that with Chase Brown getting more snaps and that could be a nice RB combo.

I think the Bengals' interior defensive line will be "worse" in the most general sense, but it will come as a trade. They lose the run-plug and probably gain some interior rush. So okay fine. The best run defense will be getting out to leads on offense anyway.

The potential loss of Reader pre-FA and the actual loss of Reader has always been an non-factor in my eyes.

Rankins isn't a replacement for Reader.  I view it as their attempt to recreate Hill/Ogunjobi pass rush combo in which NT snaps were only 53% (Mostly Reader).  2021.

The run Defense for this team is going to be greatly influenced on how well Burrow generates points, the secondary gets stops.  Which hopefully gets the help of more interior pass rush.

Last year when the game flow resulted in the opponents being able to pound the ball and play conservative.  Reader being on the roster didn't flip any of those results.

Its going to be about putting scoring pressure on the other offense which allows Lou's bend but don't break defense to eventually keep them out of endzone.

If game flows come up and teams can sit and play ground and pound they aren't stopping it with or without Reader, IMO.   If Burrow is playing at the top of his game its going to be very hard for any team to start the game off trying to win it with ground and pound.
