BengalszoneBilly
Reading the article at NFL.com I wasn't surprised to see Tom Brady and Aaron Rogers going 1-2 in the voting. What astonished me was who was at #3. Our own Andy Dalton with 114,368 votes! Not only are we Bengals fans taking note of his improved play, but so has the rest of the country. I think Andy is after all those incentives in his contract, and I for one hopes he gets all of them. Maybe Hoosier can refresh my memory on the clause in his new contract where he gets X amount of $ for winning playoff games/making it to the Super Bowl, etc.
HoosierCat
Yeah I saw that too. Not much to say that doesn't sound like me just being a ha ha I told you so ahole. (OK everything I write sounds like me being a ha ha told you so ahole, I can't help it since I really am an ahole lol.) The deal Dalton signed gives him boosts to his base pay for reaching the postseason and postseason wins (with PT clauses): $1M per subsequent year if he plays in 80% of the snaps & reaches the divisional playoff $500,000 per subsequent year if he plays in 80% of the snaps & reaches the conference title $1.5M per subsequent year if he plays in 80% of the snaps & reaches the Super Bowl So that's an additional $5 million between now and 2020 if they get past the WC round, including a first round bye, another $2.5 million if they get to the title game and another $7.5 million if they get to the big dance. Since he didn't do all that last year his $96 million deal is now a $93 million deal. To get that full $93 million he has to get to the Super Bowl.
