HoosierCat
http://www.forbes.com/teams/cincinnati-bengals/ I understand Mike is thinking about upgrading the Lumina's sound system to include an 8-track player, and maybe springing for the brushless car wash instead of the free-with-fillup kind. BengalszoneBilly
How much is that in 1968 dollars?
HoosierCat
About $9.9 billion. (Though I suspect what you're asking is how much the $8 million the Browns paid for the franchise then is worth today, which would be about $55 million. So yeah, good investment.) GapControl
Ha! Hilarious! Picture me, living and working in Japan, with a company full of British guys, trying to explain Mike Brown's Lumina to a bunch of Barclay's Premier League fans
COB
Mike should sell the team. The NFL is at an all-time high in regards to viewership, popularity, etc. I don't know if this is the absolute peak, but if it isn't it is damn close. Cash out now, invest the One Thousand Four Hundred Million, find something else for all those shirttail relatives to do.

But the way this weekend was wall-to-wall Fanduel and Draft Kings ads makes me think there's upside left, perhaps a lot. There are apparently a lot of investment banking $$$ backing those ads for what's basically a national online NFL gambling network that makes Vegas look like a 50/50 raffle at the local church festival. And while the NFL continues to fight casino-based sports gambling, it's enthusiastically promoting this stuff. There are a few bleats from political types (mostly based in places like NJ that wants casino sportsbooks) about the explosion in fantasy gambling but I doubt it will be banned or anything. And it will only drive more interest in the league IMO.
