gregcook68
As a sidebar, I get almost giddy everytime I think of the fact that Fat Ben and his thugmates have 4 losses, and 2 of them are to 2 teams (Bucs and Jets) that have a total of only 3 wins between them, and 2 of those 3 wins are against Thugburgh! HoosierCat
I don't think anything has changed with this team. If I'm not mistaken, this is the same defense we seen all preseason. I don't think you can just wave away Maualuga, Burfict and Thompson missing a combined 13 games (so far). That's the heart of the run defense and IMHO a big reason why the D has been atrocious overall. That said, they have also missed a lot of opportunities thanks to dropped interceptions and piss-poor tackling. We've seen them do the same thing in spurts in previous years. For some reason the fundamentals seem to slip away from this squad from time to time, and that has to be put on the coaches.I'm actually not too down on Hue, Paul and Marvin. But I think there's a lot of dead weight on the staff. Alexander obviously. The next TE Jonathan Hayes develops will be the first. I think we all know why David Lippencott has a job (same reason Marcus Lewis does). And I don't believe any of us know why Ken Zampese has a job.The Bengals have four assistants with "quality control" in their titles. They should have all been terminated with extreme prejudice last Friday.
ArmyBengal
I know it's looking ahead, but if they lose to Tampa Bay, i'm going to lose my d*mn mind.I was thinking I might get excited about their chances if they go on a 5 game win streak starting this Sunday.Minus that, I don't think it matters much at all. My family has a history of Hunington's. I've seen an uncle and aunt deteriorate. I've seen numerous people, in the homes deteriorate from Parkinson's as well. There was one man who had ALS, which is the least common, but the most destructive and difficult to watch, let alone have. Stripes
Didn't we beat Brees in New Orleans in 2006? That was the weird game where he threw for 500 yards but the Saints only scored 16 points. Keanu had a pick in the endzone, Ethan Kilmer had a pick-six, and Chad scored 3 TDs. HoosierCat
Yup, the high point of Ethan Kilmer's pro career and possibly K2's best game too./>http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/200611190nor.htm
TJJackson
Yeah, I was a big Ethan Kilmer booster back then :-)S P E C I A L T E A M E R S R U L E ! ! !(which is why I like Kirkpatrick prolly more than all of you all put together - good gunner, not quite reggie-esque yet, but good)(Keanu = Madieu?) HoosierCat
The Cincinnati Bengals: we used a first round pick on a gunner.I guess we can't fault them for lack of innovation.

TJJackson
oh, I do understand that a first round pick should be more than a quality gunneri just like having a quality gunner :-)LOOK TO THE LEFT!
HoosierCat
Bleah.@LanceMcAlister: Lap thinks Maualuga is 50/50 for Sunday, does not think Burfict goes. Thinks Gio will practice and see. Hall a go. #Bengals LineLap also said that Eifert went in for a "procedure." He still believes he won't play again this season. No word I've seen on whether Moobs is out of the boot yet.
Stripes
I think Kirk is a better corner than we usually give him credit for around here. He hasn't lived up to his draft stock, but he isn't otherworldly horrible.
HoosierCat
Maualuga sounds pretty determined to play Sunday, but up to docs.

gregcook68
Burfict not practicing and he probably won't play on SundayThey are really going to have to play perfect football Sunday, and hope they can get a turnover or two from the Saints. (SD playoff game and Thursday night)
gregcook68
Trying to beat the Saints, in New Orleans, without Gio, Jones, Eifert, Burfict, Malaluga, a 100% Geno, Green, and Hall, after the Saints lose last week, in overtime, at home?Well, there's always next year! 😢
