Ah fuck it, "not qualified to question them"...

Stuff it.

I am qualified. Deal with it.

In the context of a fan message board, yep, we're all qualified

I speak for myself, I'm not!

You are

And for you to continually make the point that you aren't on a messageboard specifically geared towards this kind of discussion is very, very irritating

+1 :) Gotta love it here!

Another season over before it begins!

GO BROWNS AND JOHNNY FOOTBALL!

So again, if Dalton only benefits from the players and scheme where does that put McCarron who has played on some of the best college teams in recent history ?? Let me guess, HE carried those teams right ?? While McCarron might be the next coming of (name a great QB) I don't like the argument that Dalton is the only person benefitting from the players around him.

Sure someone has to catch those passes. Who threw them ??

Let me guess, all those throws sucked right ??

Calm down there, Army, I'm with ya! But we both know that the storyline this summer will accentuate all of Andy's flaws and play down all of McCarron's negatives because who doesn't love a good QB controversy. As hokie says, it'll be interesting. Dalton will have to smile and make nice with a bunch of reporters he would probably like to punch in the face. Meanwhile, those same reporters will be doing their damnedest to get provocative quotes out of the "cocky" backup, who intentionally or not will probably provide a few. Marvin and Hue get the joyous job of trying to keep a lid on things.

Only thing that would make this more perfect is if they went and signed Kitna...

Oh, i'm good. Not even irritated. I just don't see that argument as being very sound.

Dalton plays on a very solid team and has had success, but it's not because of him.

McCarron plays on one of the best college teams in recent memory and has had success, but there's no mention of how many first rounders played on his teams.

Dalton may in fact falter this 2014 season, but minus something catastrophic happening, he's the man.

Anything outside of that equates to McCarron as a 3rd string QB. Nothing to see here.

I'll be rooting for him to develop and do well when given his chances, but I just don't see there being many.

It will interesting because people actually think McCarron has a chance to start and will stoke the conversation of silliness.

In reality, McCarron won't take a regular season snap all season long.

All true.

Dalton has this enigma about him that he can't shake until he does.

He'll go for stretches playing great and then stretches playing awful. More frustrating with him is that he doesn't show against good defenses. While it's not fair to say that he's "not good", a more accurate assessment of him is that he is frustratingly inconsistent.

Now, to me, that points to a mental aspect of his game.

Can he get better? If Brady's sports psychologist can get to him, maybe so.

I'm hoping Campbell is the person that pushes Dalton.

He's that solid vet presence Dalton has never had, knows the way Hue operates and can be a second pair of seasoned eyes.

McCarron offers little more than a camp arm at this point, but again, i'll be rooting that he learns quickly and turns into more than I expect.

I view McCarron as that punk snot nosed kid that was always better at everything. Dalton was probably snubbed by UT, A&M and the like while in high school because of dark haired kids like McCarron.

McCarron might be that threat that turns him into a no-name taking beast.

Campbell just looks like the Soul-Glo guy from Coming to America. He's too nice.

Who knows, maybe McCarron motivates Dalton to push himself over that hump. Dalton hasn't had that since he's been here.

Add in Hue's hubris to the mix. Dalton might turn into Jim Kelly this season.

I agree with everything except Jim Kelly. He's 0-4. How about Eli Manning? As bad as he is overall he does seem to do well in the playoffs, with a great defense and some circus plays! 2-0!

Jim Kelly might be the one if the toughest QBs to ever play the game. I'd take good Eli Manning too.

Heck, let's just hope he can be as good as Trent Dilfer this year. Or even the first two years of Sanchez.

Not going to happen! Best scenario is he gets a season ending injury in the OTAs before his contract!

Maybe we can get someone on defense to go after a knee, red shirt or not!! <_</>

Boring

Perfect:

@JoeGoodberry Interesting tidbit-- I know from her family that Katherine Webb was really upset that AJ was drafted by Cinci

#CurseOfPalmer

And Webb engages! :lmao:

Who is this turd, Joe Goodberry?

He's a friend of mine, a draft geek who used to write for CJ until life got busy, wife, kid, that sort of thing. He still watches a lot of film. You can find a link to his rankings down on the draft board. He's taken a lot of crap lately because he really hated this draft. I think he's being overly harsh this year but I respect the work he puts in.

That's cool. I had this picture of Todd Reedy sitting behind a twitter handle, taking over what his brother used to do in the cynicism department.

I think part of the fun of the draft is allowing the praise and criticism to make for some good conversation and debate. Entertaining. A good way to pass the time. Anytime you see things one sided...it's probably jaded.

I wish all us couch coaches could comprehend football. Now listen, don't hurt your 40 Watt noggin, this is for the professionals. Those guys who all speak in hushed tones down at PBS lest some internet interloper learns some foosball knowledge and comes to form their own opinion.

Dangerous days, these interwebs are treacherous and subvert the highly classified world of the NFL (Not For Losers).

Best ye all stays a ways back, and trust in the Brown family and ol' black Jesus hisself. They gots this...

That reminds me, I just pumped up my daughters bike tires today so I am now a professional cycling expert. My treatise on the value of putting baseball cards in the spokes, in which I employ advanced statistical analysis to show that using Topps rookie cards from 1978 from East Coast teams provides a competitive advantage, is forthcoming.
