skyline
What worries me here is the fact that Hyde is proven against some of the best run defending teams in college football. Then you have the SEC that seems to have forgotten how to defend and just wants to score 40 points a game every game. Is Hill better than Hyde, I doubt it. He lacks the ability to block well and has issues with balance, Hyde has neither of these issues. Can he catch better than Hyde I doubt this also, Hyde routinely made bad passes from Miller a catch and turned them into big gains.Does he have more character issues than Hyde, yes by far. Hyde received a free tattoo or two from a OSU alum, Hill has a sex charge against a minor and an assault charge on tape at a bar.I do not like this pick!I hope they know what they are doing, but I don't see this working out well.He can catch and I believe I read last night that Hue was attracted by his pass protection abilities. There are analysts who argued he should be ahead of Hyde. But yeah, on a personal level the guy sound like a real POS and I can't say I'm happy at the idea of cheering him.I'm willing to cut the Bengals some slack in regards to character. Their track record lately has been pretty good.I'm excited about the player, and was in favor of them hitting RB early in the draft. Force this guy to hang out with Gio and avoid clubbing with Mr. Jones. Please.
Stripes
He does look good that's for sure. Will he be better then Hyde I hope so. A lot of upside after watching that videoOnly thing to remember is that's an awesome o-line he is running behind. The Bengals? Right now not so much. We'll see if he can do that running behind our line.the bengals have a better o-line than LSU.I am quite sure the intent was to compare the lines relative to their respective competitive fields. membengal
Did any of you listen to the call with hill? I am not willing to hang him on the past. And didn't Hyde hit a woman? Was that a classy move? Too much bitching in here.
cincyhokie
They passed on Lacy last season for Bernard. This year, they got their Lacy to go with Gio.This move could be huge in how the Bengals do this season. Hopefully, he translates well. Based on the film, he looks like a very solid player in a division where you need solid, tough RB play.
wpeldios
Was my favorite back in the draft. Prefect compliment to Gio.
Wraith
Hill was my #2 rated Running Back but West (who was my #1) was run hard by Towson State and for all the talking heads blabbering about the new NFL the reason why teams don't pick RBs in the first has nothing to do with value it has everything to do with the likelihood that RBs will get injured early and often due to the pounding they are taking....with West getting the ball in college as much as he did I can see teams being reluctant to bring him on board, Hill on the other hand is a RSO and only has one year as an every-game full time starter. We have a winner. It's all about tread on the tires. Example A is Chris Perry.

cincyhokie
Sounds like he was a senior and she was a freshman. He also got into a fight at a bar. He's hardly a menace to society.

If he stays clean, fine. But it won't take a lot to turn me into a hater.
kingwilly
We all did some stupid shit in HS. Depending on the state you live, not even a crime if consensual, rretribution from angry Dad not withstanding. If he is sincere in his growth and comes in to be a pro, then the pick is excellent. Hard to think Lewis and Brown are bringing a tumor into the locker.... Wait, never mind.

I'm certainly not going to overlook mistakes like that simply because he is a player on my favorite team now. I can only assume he hasn't either. That's a pretty serious record. He's lucky to be where he is.

membengal
When that guy is battering defenses and this team is controlling the game with him and Gio pounding the rock, no one is going to give a shit about his past. Factor in that he is making a really good first impression through the media and I think the past will be a non-issue.
ArmyBengal
The only thing i'm really concerned about in regards to his past is this:DON'T REPEAT IT !!!If Hill can do that one thing, he will be celebrated greatly.I think what he brings to this offense is going to be felt rather quickly.Hue will make sure of that. That RB corps is getting awful crowded. It will be interesting to see how quickly BGJE gets released it shakes out.
