Preseason sked is out. They get a Sunday night game against Carson Palmer in Arizona. Other three games are against KC, the Jets and Indy.

Still love the cheap preseason games to take the kids to and hang out.

You can jump around seats and no one really cares either.

Leave early ?? Yeah, no big deal. Good weather ?? Yep.

Watch the young guys that won't get many snaps ?? Good stuff.

I'll catch at least one preseason game.

I struggle to work up any excitement with pre-season games .... would rather they cut them down to 2 and had more regular season games

Again, I just think it's the perspective you put the games in.

If you are looking for playoff level games and atmosphere, there's no reason to look.

If you are looking for a cheap way to take kids that don't usually want to stay for a whole game and be able to watch the new/young guys you won't see much of during the season, then yeah, it's a good time. Seeing as how I enjoy the draft as much as I do and like looking at those late round guys, preseason has a different spin for me than those that may not be as concerned. I get it the lack of concern with the games though.

It looks like the official schedule will be out on the 22nd.

Based on the Reds' schedule it looks like the Bengals will open on the road again. The Reds play the Mets on the afternoon of September 7, first Sunday of the season, and the Cardinals the evening of the next day. Reds are away the next two weeks, however, then back at home Sunday September 28. Interestingly that game is against the Pirates, so it would not be surprising if the Bengals are @Steelers in week 4.

My guess at the first month:

Week 1: @New England. The Bengals went on the road to Foxboro to start the season the last time the division played the AFC East, so it seems as good a guess as any.

Week 2: Baltimore. The Bengals have played a division opponent in week two in 3 of the last 4 seasons.

Week 3: Atlanta. The Bengals have played an NFC team in week 3 every season for the past 4 years.

Week 4: @Pittsburgh.

I suppose having Indy as the final pre-season game means we won't have them as the regular season game til mid or late season ....... ????

Looking forward to seeing when we play at Houston because we are planning a trip down that way and will catch the game.

Fly down to San Antonio, hit the river walk, drive out to Houston from there, catch the game, fly home.

In between San Antonio and Houston is this TINY oil town with some of the best barbeque I ever had.

It's going to be a fun weekend !!!

Hey Army just imagine what the games will be like when this stuff hits the market...

Only a few more hours until the St. Louis Rams give me 100,000 dollars...

Lunch on you at the Canteen ??

:sure:/>

Yep. Grilled cheese and fries on me. I'll even throw in a stale donut from the breakfast rotation just because I like you.

Mighty kind of you. Jelly filled please.

A couple sked tidbits reported:

First Monday night game will be Giants @ Lions

First Sunday night game will be Colts @ Denver, so those two teams are out as week 1 opponents for the Bengals.

Also Schefty says that flex scheduling will start in week 5 now!

This is supposedly the full Giants sked. They play the AFC South like us so there are a few weekends we know a team we won't play.

Report out of Cleveland that week 1 is Browns @ Bengals. Given the Reds game in the afternoon and the Sunday night slot allegedly taken that's hard to see. But there's the rumor.

So you have them starting 3-7 then finishing 8-8. Good old dead cat bounce days again!

Oh, I forgot, Denver is a prime time game, MNF.

Yah, hokie, that's where the playoff dream dies. Not quite a DCB, but definitely enough to get Dalton a big bucks deal!
