cincyhokie Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 The NFL is hitting it's price ceiling. Growth will probably only come from TV contracts. Makes you wonder why the blackout rule is still in effect. Quote
HoosierCat Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Josh has some more detail in this post:/>http://www.cincyjungle.com/bengals-ticket-sales/2013/12/31/5260356/bengals-arent-alone-with-unsold-playoff-ticketsColts say they have 7,000 "people tickets" left. I know, because I got the email, that the Colts have also set aside 2,000 tix for local business partners who can get a special deal on reduced shipping and handling. I'm betting those are not included in the "people" tix.It sounds like GB will sell out, they sold 25,000 tix yesterday... Quote
101Airborne Posted December 31, 2013 Author Report Posted December 31, 2013 Just a note on the whole sellout thing, Bengals say they still have more than 10,000 tix left despite brisk sales.Indy has 7,000+ plus tix remaining. Green Bay has 15,000.For the record, I am 100% certain that the Bengals will, in the end, buy up whatever number of tickets are necessary to get to a sellout. But they will milk the "OMG Blackout!" storyline for all it's worth to sell as many as possible. I have to credit the FO, they do this all the time and have become total masters at it.Very strange for Green Bay. Where did you see the report?Josh tweeted it out a few minutes ago.Good on ya, Airborne! Enjoy the game. Thanks Hoosier! And for he record, I've always assumed your avatar was a selfie. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 I've always wondered what you ugly sons-a-bitches look like behind your avatars. After meeting Mem at the Colts game and Hokie at work, all I can say is we are some sexy motherf*ckers.Everyone else here should be so fortunate.Just don't ask my wife to confirm that statement... If she is like my wife, tonight she won't be watching the ball dropping on TV, she will be watching 'the balls' dropping further and further towards the ground somewhere else in the house!!! Quote

TJJackson Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Just picked up my tickets and will be bringing about 10 people along with me. Hope to see some of you local folks there at the game. I've always wondered what you ugly sons-a-bitches look like behind your avatars.11 x 117 * 1.065 = 1370.66I wish I had 1400 bucks just burning a hole in MY pocket.......buy me a ticket and I'll be there :-) Quote
TJJackson Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 we are some sexy motherf*ckers. Please retract that, you know agreen/gizzle is still lurking....... :-) Quote
Stripes Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 These tickets must be selling. About three hours ago I told my father I'd buy two tickets for anyone in the immediate family that wanted to go. By the time he responded, all of the sections I was deliberating between sold out. I was forced to take third level nosebleeds (not a bad seat in the house though). Quote

HoosierCat Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Latest tix update:Bengals 9500Packers 8500Colts 5500 Quote
cincyhokie Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Latest tix update:Bengals 9500Packers 8500Colts 5500I just went on to the ticket site. The best tickets available are row 33 in the canopy, 300 section. Just yesterday I could get 2 tickets in section 130 row 10.They are moving fast. No way the number has gone down only 500 seats. My guess is that it's somewhere in the 5,000 area. Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 I'm sure the numbers are being fudged as well. All the teams will get extensions, there will be a supposed late surge, and sell outs will be declared. Quote
cincyhokie Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Yeah, I have a hard time believing that the NFL, the Bengals, and the city would allow the game to blackout if they are even 5,000 short (which I think will be even less by the end of the day).It will sell out. And for those people that are soley content on watching it on TV, I would recommend going down there to get the playoff atmosphere. It's completely different than the regular season. It's really a cool environment. I don't care how hi-def your hi-def flatscreen is. It can't compare to the playoff vibe at the stadium.Even in the 2005 and 2009 games we lost, I still had an awesome time. Quote
jjakq27 Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 I agree hokie. The playoffs are like no other game. The finality of it drives up the excitement. This is the relevance people complain about and longed for yet they don't really want to get in the pool with the rest of us. It's easy to point out the flaws but a lot harder to be part of the solutions. These things don't come around very often. I hope people respond to this opportunity. For the younger crowd that never experienced it, please give it your support. Leaving the game on Sunday felt like the late 80's all over again. I don't think we've been this close since. Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 And poof, now we're at 8000 tix...lol. Per Coley they will ask for an extension and expect it will be given. There will be no blackout. Quote
WhoDey93285 Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Yeah I just went to buy the two best available tickets and they were section 308 in the very last row . If those are the two best seats then there really can't be that many seats left, right? Quote

ArmyBengal Posted January 2, 2014 Report Posted January 2, 2014 They already have the game listed on the directory for channel 12 locally.I suppose that could be changed, but they never use to list them until it sold out. Quote

The train I'm bringing are mostly buying their own. I'm footing the bill for me and my father. I ended up with this mess because I invited a friend, who invited two friends, who invited two friends...Going along with what others have said, my seats are in row 20, section 314. Ain't no way those were the best seats when I bought mine if we've got thousands of empty seats left. I call nonsense. Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 2, 2014 Report Posted January 2, 2014 4500 in Indy, 5500 in GB, 7200 in Cincy -- but Bengals say 2000ish tix going today. It's a miracle! Lol Quote
TJJackson Posted January 2, 2014 Report Posted January 2, 2014 Hoosier - I dont see that 2000 reported anywhere, whats your source? Quote
Stripes Posted January 2, 2014 Report Posted January 2, 2014 The best SINGLE ticket right now is still basically in the very top row of the canopy. Bunch of crap. Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 2, 2014 Report Posted January 2, 2014 Hoosier - I dont see that 2000 reported anywhere, whats your source?Lance. He talked to Berding, said they expect to be down to 5-6k tix today from the 7200. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted January 2, 2014 Report Posted January 2, 2014 Yep, I just checked and it put me in the last row of section 338. Not a bad section, but I don't care for the upper canopy. Quote
