3 seasons in a row

Going back to the beginning, we have never had more than 3 wining seasons in a row. Here's hoping that the latest 3 peat leads to great things in the playoffs. New England seems to be winning with smoke and mirrors and Denver's d is not impressive. Only thing that concerns me after todays game is d injuries and missed tackles. It was good to see the offense finally carry the D

Agree. Let's see them Finish strong and healthy. Aim for the 2 seed. Much more possible with Gronk going down.

Db depth is a concern, hoping Newman is OK. Crocker showed his general lack of speed when Iloka went out. Would Williams be better?

O Line played excellent, again. Collins totally shut out Mathis. Whit smashed and mauled the Colts and makes Cook better by being inside and so strong. It was maybe the best they've looked. Keep it rolling, more so when Zeitler is back healthy. Strength of the O Line make Andy better, and makes run game effective. Might be the key to the whole thing.

D will bounce back, some bad tackling but they seemed to take foot off gas when it was 21-0. They backed off a bit and played soft, allowing Indy to keep scoring. The result was not in doubt but it was ugly at times watching them score.

Man, this team has SB all over it.

Newman will be back, hopefully. I think he aggravated an injury he's been playing a few games with. He has been very reluctant the last few games to wrap a guy up and tackle. He'll hit with his arms in, but to open himself up to tackle has been a little stilted. Then when he actually tried to do it yesterday he got hurt almost immediately. They haven't put it on the injury report, I don't think, but he's definitely hurt.

First time was 1975-1977 but only made the playoffs in 1975 (PB's last year of coaching).

First time for (barring the unexpected) that they have made the playoffs three straight seasons as well.

As far as missed tackles that's the first time I've ever seen that with our defense this year. Knowing Zimmer, the D will probably get some serious demerits for that and some back to the basics work this week!

Mike Brown :lol:/>/>/>/>/>/>

Nope, I don't even have any venom to spew his way either.

Amazing what winning can do huh ??

Not to mention how the 'only ifs' and 'could haves and should haves' won't change a thing anyway! ;)

Two of the biggest mistakes I think Paul Brown ever made was not letting go of his ego and choosing Tiger Johnson over Bill Walsh as coach when he stepped down as HC, and naming his son as owner when he stepped down as owner, knowing that his son didn't have a tenth of the football mind that he had!! :)

Try as one might to find reasons to be pissy, you can't really complain too much as a Bengals fan these days.

Oh please. Do you really think this team is going anywhere with Ginger Snap at QB? Did you watch yesterday's game? It's obvious he's holding this team back big-time. So sick of it. We'd be undefeated and headed for 19-0 is it weren't for him. They need to get Josh Johnson in there pronto. Otherwise we may as well root for them to lose out so they can get a higher draft pick to grab a real QB...

:lmao:

Funny part about that rant is that I actually heard that crap on the radio coming into work today.

Hate having to rely on Dalton. His arm isn't strong enough to win the big games. Good thing the players around him are so good.

It's all crap. Acknowledging Dalton has things to continue to improve upon is one thing, bashing him after one the better games of his career is silly at best.

No, to the contrary, I think there has to be a fair amount of credit thrown his way for the success of the team and franchise since that dismal day in January 2011.

I can assure you some of that very stuff is going on in the forum from the Bengals website. Been there done that sick of it!

The official site is bad for many things and that is one of them.

Again, it's not to say that Dalton can't improve, because he can.

But to say it after the game he had yesterday just doesn't pass the common sense test.

3 passing and 1 rushing TD with no INT's or sacks on the way to a convincing win over a division leader.

Credit the o-line for giving the protection and running lanes and the receivers for not dropping passes all day.

However, when there is no protection, no running lanes, and dropped passes, who takes the blame ??

The one guy who had little to do with it.

D*mned if he does, d*mned if he doesn't.

Well said Army. When he gets protection, gets a running game established, forcing one on one receiver coverage, has receivers running the correct routes, and holding onto the ball, he is more than capable!

We can do worse than a high-volume statistical enigma. Eli Manning is the exact same thing and he's found a way to do some good things.

He has a great shot at a 30 TD pass season after all, something only ever done once by a quarterback of this franchise (Palmer, 2005). He's probably going to break the franchise single season yardage record too.
