I will be at this game due to my little brother's generosity

In the middle of one of the endzones, not sure which one.....field goals will be headed right at us

I predict a Bengals win (my brother and I will ensure Luck and company cannot hear a thing, no matter that I wont be able to speak for a week thereafter) and am setting the over/under for number of beers I have to buy for my brother at 3

And just to show that the Bengals aren't the only team being downgraded for a lack of style points, here's Indystar sports columnist Bob Kravitz after yesterday's win over Tennessee.

A phalanx of reporters surrounded Colts cornerback Cassius Vaughn's locker following the team's inartistic but huge 22-14 victory over the Tennessee Titans. The reason? Vaughn had two interceptions in the game. The voluble corner gets upset at us because we rarely talk with him; this day, he was the center of attention.

"Does this win cure some ills?" Chris Widlic of WISH-TV asked Vaughn. "Obviously, you guys are still not playing great football, but you're a step closer to a goal."

Vaughn gave him a look, the kind of look I get from my wife.

"When you say great football, you mean we should be 12-0?" Vaughn demurred. "We're still 8-4, not a 4-8 ball club, so I don't understand 'not playing good football.' Any team would love to be in our position. We've clinched the division" — almost — "we're 8-4, so what's bad football to y'all?"

OK, let's be real about this: The Colts were inordinately fortunate to walk out of Lucas Oil Stadium with their heads held high. Twice in one possession, Luck was swarmed and fumbled in his own territory, only to have the ball recovered by a teammate. Then, at the end of the first half, the Colts were gifted a freebie field goal when former Colt Moise Fokou gave Stanley Havili a cheap shot, earned a personal foul and put the Colts in field-goal range. Naturally, Adam Vinatieri nailed it, giving hope to all the 50-somethings worldwide.

Colts fans seem convinced they're going to lose. They don't have any faith in the sputtering offense and think our dline could cripple Luck before the end of the game.

This probably sounds crazy, but this feels like a trap game to me. Bengals are coming off a big west coast win and they have a prime-time game in Pittsburgh coming up...with the now-struggling Colts sandwiched in between. I hope I'm wrong, because to me this is a game they "should" win, but it's got "letdown" written all over it.

Luck is a master at fourth-quarter comebacks and the Bengals just love to let teams hang around...

The Colts haven't been the same since Wayne went down with the injury and I can see the concerns Colts fans may have.

That and a defense that struggles with the run isn't a plus either.

I could see where this game could be viewed as a trap game, but I think they focus so well at home that it won't be that way.

Obviously I could be wrong, but I really think the Bengals handle this game.

Unless they are the Jets... lol

No doubt. And that was when the Jets were still thought to be halfway decent. Now...ugh.

I was just looking at clinching scenarios on PFT. None for us yet but the Colts can clinch the AFC South with a win over the Bengals or a loss by the Titans (who play The Greatest Team Ever With The Greatest QB Ever That The Media Can't Quit Knob-Slobbedring Broncos) next Sunday.

Have fun but bundle up! Early forecast is cold, 31 degrees, and cloudy but no precip or wind.

Colts are definitely beatable. If the Bengals want to get out of the fourth seed and avoid KC this is a big game.

That sounds like a nice forecast when playing a dome team. Definitely favors our Bengals

For you history buffs, here's a look at Bengals-Colts head-to-head, which can be summed up as "yuck."

The teams have met 26 times, with the Bengals winning just nine of those games. Cincinnati has actually fared better in Indy/Baltimore, going 6-9 against the Colts on their home fields, versus 3-8 in Cincinnati.

The teams last met in 2011 when Manning was hurt and they were led by Curtis Painter. Dalton threw for 264 yards and a TD while Indy turned the ball over three times en route to a 27-17 Bengals win. That broke a streak of seven straight losses to the Colts dating back to 1998.

The teams have met five times in the Marvin era and the Bengals are 1-4 in those games. Manning was simply too much, even for the 2005 squad, which lost a 45-37 shootout that saw Cincy and Indy combine for almost 950 yards of offense.

I feel good about this game.

I don't know if I want the 3 seed though. I honestly think I'd rather face the Chiefs than whichever 6 seed comes in hot (especially if it's Baltimore).

I can't say as I care much between the 3 or 4, but would rather them at the 2.

A New England loss would have them right there.

Way to go Texans.

Bengals crush the Colts this week. They have that "Home Swagger" finally going for them. They're 5-0. 3/4 at home. Agree with Army about the weather and running the ball. Those losses to Manning's Colts have nothing to do with these Colts. Miami and the Dolphins play the Pats tough. If the Bengals take care of their own business they can get the BYE.

Yeah I'd definitely take the 2 as well if it becomes available.

New England's remaining schedule probably leaves them the room to lose one more game at most though (with the most likely result being zero, in my opinion):

vs. CLE

@ MIA

@ BAL

vs. BUF

Yeah, I don't think they will have more than maybe one loss in that span, but I didn't expect the Texans to take them to the end either.

You never know and if they have another letdown, I hope the Bengals stay focused enough to take advantage of it.

I read somewhere that the Colts will clinch the South with their next win or the next Titans next loss. The Titans play Denver next week. Honestly unless they feel like they have a legit shot at the No. 2 spot, I don't see Indy having much to play for from here on out. A 3 or 4 seed is pretty much a wash for them. But it is the NFL and the "gimme" games seem to be the Bengals downfall on occasions. We really need to win this one since we still play Pittsburgh and Baltimore and they both are alive for the 6th spot and even the division though it is remote.

Boling headed to IR with a torn ACL. Zeitler expected back for the Colts game though, so that's good news.

However, Lewis is d*cking around with LG, saying they may put Whit back at LT and put Pollack or Tanner "tiny arms" Hawkinson in at LG. I suspect he's full of it and is just trying to keep the Colts guessing. But if he truly does that he needs his a** kicked.

That is what I was worried about. What happens when Zeitler gets back, and that's not the answer I want to hear. If he watches the tape and doesn't think that's the best the line has looked, with Whit pulling like that, then he has issues.

Collins is one of the best linemen on this team, and he rides the bench. I'm sorry, but I would be finding a place for ASAP!

They are in the middle of a playoff run, if he puts in a rookie, I will have lost all faith in him, and what he is doing. You do not let one of your best guys on the bench.

While I have no problem with Pollack, I just don't see him being one of the best guys. Leave it how it is, and put Zeitler back at his spot!

That's what I hope, too.

I think they have done their best to try and "hide" AC for years. Clearly (at least to me) he can play and even start at LT in this league. And I'm afraid that they are afraid that if he gets an extended look at LT now, with his contract up after this season, they will lose AC to free agency and be stuck with a LT with bad knees (see Jones, Levi). Further, this effs with the draft. With injuries to Hall and Mays, Crocker and Newman being 5,000 years old, Pacman always a question mark and Dre still underperforming his draft status, they are already almost locked into the secondary. But now there's a looming oline hole.

In the bad old days I have no doubt word would come down from on high that Whit isn't getting $10 million a year to play guard, and to stash Collins again so they can try to sign him cheap next year. But those days are gone, right? Right...?

I know what Jersey to look for...

Cold day you say ??

Sounds like the perfect recipe for running the ball against a dome team with a poor run defense !!!

POUND THE BALL !!!

Jay Gruden Hears a little Whisper in his head...Stop Running the Ball this week they'll never see it coming!!

Later Confirmed Bratowski was the one whispering to Gruden
