ArmyBengal
That's just the thing, there isn't much "pulling" for anything in the first round. They can argue about the offset language, incentives, and things of that nature, but not really dollar amounts on the contract. There isn't much of an excuse for teams not to get their first rounders into camp on time.I'm not worried at this time however. What ?? A few weeks away right ??Things will pick up and it will get done.

Earendil
According to the Bengals' Facebook page, Eifert has signed./>https://www.facebook.com/bengals?ref=stream&hc_location=streamEDIT: It's official on the .com site. http://www.bengals.com/news/article-1/Eifert-signing-seals-draft-class/c5703096-0032-40b8-9b4a-ac49eba83e51
ArmyBengal
Nice to see them get Eifert taken care of.Not that I saw any reason for it not to happen.Happy nonetheless.

ArmyBengal
I'm not usually this way at this point in the season, but i'm extremely optimistic about the 2013 season.Eifert is going to be a big part of that. I will own up to not wanting a TE in the 1st, but am happy with how this has turned out.Sometimes being wrong and bullheaded isn't all bad.Now they just have to go out there and execute.Ooooooooh the options Dalton is going to have !!! Kazkal
True that and well I didn't like it before happened grew love it fast more so since we got Hunt and bernard in the second when they were thinking about them in the first.

I follow ND football pretty closely and he is very smooth for a big guy. He reminds me of a taller version of Jason Witten. Very quiet and sneaky but always seems to be open. I think his dad played hoops at Purdue in the mid-80's and I'm guessing Tyler played in high school so he's got excellent footwork and body control. It was mentioned way back in the draft thread but he had a good game against Dee Milliner in the Championship game and DM was a very high draft pick. Tyler won just about every contested pass. So much like AJ, I believe that Eifert will make Dalton's windows a lot bigger. I also think he will make Gresham better or make him expendable after this season. This pick is so un-Bengal like but he was just too good to pass up at that point. The Vikings pretty much said the same thing when Kyle Rudolph was drafted a few years ago. Let's hope the Eifert will be in that class. So I've guarded my optimism until now but I am really looking forward to this season. I think they have a real opportunity to be a top 10 team on offense and defense.
ArmyBengal
I'm usually the guarded one when making predictions, but if Eifert and Bernard are the only two that make an immediate impact this season, I ecpect a major step forward with this team. I'm not just talking about a playoff win either. I seriously think they are going to do some big things this year. Yeah, i'm excited about it !!! HoosierCat
Blind homers, the lot of you. The good thing about Eifert is that he has a low bar to clear in doing better than last year's top pick, Four-Tackle Kirkpatrick.Anyone seen Moobs yet?All our choices at center still appear weak.Taylor Mays is still a Bengal. And gawd help us Rey Maualuga is still our starting MLB.Then there's our noodle armed, indecisive, self-creating sack machine QB...0-16 here we come! We have the best defense in the AFCN just getting out of guys what we got last year (and most of these players should be getting better). We have the only marquee #1 WR in the division. A top ten OLine (and if moobs wants to eat himself out of the league we will still ok with Collins at RT). The best TE corp in football. Lots of options at RB....I firmly believe this is the best team in the division provided Dalton continues to progress and there is no reason to suspect he won't. Color me unconcerned.Center is a concern, but additional outlets for Dalton helps cover that a little and aids Dalton in the same process.Big Dre is going to be here sooner or later and no, i'm still not concerned. This isn't the season prediction thread, which can wait until after the last preseason game, but i'm comfortable going with 11-5 right now. HoosierCat
In all seriousness, I think the team is in decent shape. On paper they look like a playoff contender again. But they also have many of the usual Bengals question marks. Once again, they are counting on rookies to make some significant contributions. Sometimes that pans out and sometimes it doesn't. Then there are all the second-year players who are also being counted on, but whose performance has been mixed, like Still, Thompson, Sanu and Jones. Not to mention Dre. And finally there are the ongoing items of interest, like Moobs' conditioning, Whit's knees and Maualuga's talent. If everything comes together, this team is a legit Super Bowl contender. But there are plenty of things that could blow up on them too. I love that they are on Hard Knocks, because it should give us plenty to chew over about which way things appear to be going. Yeah, still total question mark. Sure would be nice to get something positive out of that first round pick eh ??
