ArmyBengal
Like I said before, the practice squad needs a new WR to play the part of Larry Fitzgerald during the season. When they find that player, the coaches will tell us how they are going to be a huge part of the game plan the next year. kingwilly
It's funny that they keep looking for r6 and r7 gems... Sure, you might find a TJ every once a decade, but even he didn't emerge for 3 years...Cobi looks decent. Will he beat Tate? Only if he produces on STs. I'm pulling for him but I generally give this team little props for developing WR talent. Recall they activated Purify over Simpson.... TJJackson
To be fair, the Vikings haven't exactly developed Simpson into a star either
kingwilly
To be fair, the Vikings haven't exactly developed Simpson into a star eitheragree but that's not my point. point is, they didn't let Simpson sniff the field for almost 3 years... was a r2 pick and gave Caldwell, Purify and others chances before Simpson. then, when he does get a start, blows up and makes many big plays. now, the guy was a massive reach and is weed guy, so the whole thing is dumb. If Cobi makes the roster, that means he will have blown up the rookie camp, training camp and the preseason games. Here's hoping.Green, Sanu, Hawk, Jones, .... the rest is up for grabs. ArmyBengal
To be fair, the Vikings haven't exactly developed Simpson into a star eitherTo be fair, Simpson has another business to be concerned with, so he can't be concerned with continued front flip TD's. Kazkal
I don't believe that Whalen/Tate/Sanzenbacher and even Hawkins are locks to make the team.Every year there are surprises to make the roster. I suspect, as well, that with added speed on the offense (Bernard) that Hawkins is not as hot a commodity as he was earlier.Dalton needs more size from his receivers. If Hamilton, or another one of the bigger FA's can step up, I can see at least one of the current listed above WR's getting cut.I'd say Hawkins is a lock,He's been our 2nd most productive WR and Jay Gruden has a man crush on him. TJJackson
and besides, Hawkins' clone was the first offensive skill player taken in the draft :-)

GioFan
Hey guys, die hard Redskins fan here, but just wanted to say I'll be watching you guys closely this year. You got an awesome one in Gio Bernard. Haven't seen a lot of discussion on him, but as a Tar Heel who watched all his college career, yall are in for a real treat. If he had stayed for his Jr. year, he might have had a shot at the Heisman. In case you haven't seen what I consider to be his best play as a Tar Heel, check this video out:/>http://www.goheels.com/mediaPortal/player.dbml?id=1077801He's a dynamic player. Plays much faster than his 40 speed indicates. Can make plays receiving out of the backfield as well. Yall are going to have a very dangerous offense next year. Looking forward to seeing you guys in the SB next year!
HoosierCat
Thanks GioFan. We're looking forward to seeing him on the field. The Bengals offense was hamstrung last year when Bernard Scott went down after about one carry with a season ending injury. They badly needed a complementary back for BJGE. ArmyBengal
Sweet video of the return by Gio.Not a UNC fan, but don't dislike them either. Those helmets were pretty cool as well.
JPW
I don't suppose that many would agree with me but ...I am pulling for John Goodman to some how stick with the team.

blueridge
I don't suppose that many would agree with me but ...I am pulling for John Goodman to some how stick with the team.I'm glad someone else had the temerity to say this. Goodman sort of reminds me of Kevin Walter. I know he is a longshot, but I would be satisfied if he just got a contract at the end of his tryout. JPW
Goodman has some skill. He has good size, good hands, runs good routes and has pretty good game speed. He was a four star prospect coming out of High School but for whatever reason he had like zero production at Notre Dame. And you have to think that he is starting off at the very bottom of a rather long list of wide receivers. But I don't know ...For some reason he seems to flash potential to me.Or maybe I am just naturally drawn to pulling for the underdog, after all I have been a Bengals fan from my youth. In any case ... If the light did suddenly come on for him and he became a productive player for the Bengals, it would also make for a good human interest story, due to his long history and friendship with Eifert. . Scottishbengal
I hope to hell he can nudge someone like Taint off the roster. I would be one of the happiest fans around here.Marvin Lewis's comments on Jayson DiManche from bengals.com (link to full article below)“Just the quickness in line, the ability to stick his foot in the ground and go from Point A to Point B," he said of what he liked from Burkhead. "Just the things you saw from him on tape. His abilities as a receiver. I think he’ll be a guy also who will really uplift us on special teams and compete to be one of our core guys.”http://www.bengals.com/news/article-1/Lewis-loves-his-rookies-says-Eifert-and-Bernard-can-help-now/df6a7975-f953-4ad5-8aa4-186515e4f80dTates replacement on ST's ??? jjakq27
Based off of the video clips and articles from the weekend, I am very iimpressed with the group of players the Bengals brought to Rookie camp. I know it's all rookie s and newbies but there is some serious talent mixed throughout that group.I enjoyed the video interview of Margus Hunt after the first practice. He seems like a good guy that will be a future leader on this team. To me he has that look in his eye that Tim Krumrie had. I truly look forward to watching him develop. And Eifert and Gio certainly seem pro-ready right now which is awesome. I just hope that Gruden and Andy D can maximize their potential. It's nice knowing that we don't have to wait until mid-year or next year to have the first and second round picks contribute. If I am a marginal player in this roster, I am worried. This seems like a special group to me.
