ArmyBengal Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 Whitworth going to the Pro-Bowl. GOOD FOR HIM !!!/>http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/01/15/andrew-whitworth-replaces-ryan-clady-on-afc-pro-bowl-team/When the names of this years Pro Bowl players were announced last month, Bengals tackle Andrew Whitworth expressed some strong feelings about the process used to put the teams together. “It’s a joke to me,” Whitworth said, via the Dayton Daily News. “It’s a popularity contest. You see it every year. There are guys that don’t even play half a season, get put on IR and they still make the Pro Bowl. I don’t worry about that stuff every year. I plan to try and make the playoffs and do what I do and that’s it. That’s all you can do. It doesn’t matter one way or the other to me. I know people probably think that’s crazy, but it really doesn’t.” The joke’s now on Whitworth since he’s the newest member of the AFC roster for the game in Hawaii on January 27th. Broncos tackle Ryan Clady has withdrawn from the game because of an injury, opening a door for Whitworth to make the roster for the first time in his career. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 I just can't get into the Pro Bowl game. It's lame. They may as well make it two hand touch. Quote
cincyhokie Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 I think Gresham definitely takes too much flak around here. He might not produce at quite the same level as Gronkowski or Graham, but pretty much nobody does. It's a wild era for tight ends right now, and we still have ourselves a very good one (at least as a receiver).or...Vernon Davis...or Owen Daniels...or Heath Miller...or Zach Miller....or Joel Dreissen....or.... It's a joke. What I do like is seeing a player that has always been a top player at his position finally get some acknowledgement.I'm happy for him and hope he enjoys the trip to Hawaii !!! Quote

That counts for something. The game is just putrid though. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 They say they want to make the game more competitive, but I don't see how you do that.Give the winner FAR more money than the loser ?? Bonus pick at the end of the 7th round for each team in the winning conference ??I still don't think many will care enough to take the risk of injury. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 I still don't think many will care enough to take the risk of injury. That's what makes the game a farce. Nobody is really playing or hitting. It's more like a scrimmage. Quote
combatbengal Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 In my opinion, the Pro Bowl is a joke and meaningless. The guys who were voted in and are still playing the season won't even go to the pro bowl! Quote

Stripes Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 I take some interest in who MAKES the Pro Bowl, but the actual game is garbage. Quote
Sea Ray Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 Just wonderin', who exactly gets considered a "Pro Bowler"? It Whitworth now a Pro Bowler? Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 Yeah, Whit gets counted as a pro bowler. Quote
redsbengalsbucks Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 IMO Whit was deserving for the last three seasons, with this past season actually being the worst he has had of the three. Quote
combatbengal Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 I don't believe Whit is a pro bowl player. He got beat a lot this year and it seemed like he had a costly penalty in just about every game this season. Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 Word is that the players will actually, y'know, try this year. My bet is that lasts until the first tweaked hammy... Quote

Dimster28 Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 cool there is a bengals fan at probowl. here is proof/>http://www.nfl.com/photos/0ap1000000130296/0ap2000000131052seems to me whoever that jersey belong to is waiting for aj green signing lol Quote
Dimster28 Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 cant believe nobody post anything on this game as u all usually post on every game, guss u all actually didnt watch game, i watch whole game, it was very good game for aj green as he made over 100 yards and 3 td, atkins did made a sack but nfl.com says he didnt, dont know what going on as i did see him made a sack Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 cant believe nobody post anything on this game as u all usually post on every game,Dimster, we post about the Bengals and playoff games. The pro bowl is far removed from that. It's a farce. Most people just have no interest in it. I had two choices this afternoon, watch the pro bowl or clean the cat box.The cat box won. Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 I was flipping back and forth between the game and " Underworld: Rise of the Lycans." Lycans was more compelling, and it stunk. Quote

Lycans was more compelling, and it stunk.I can't see how the league can keep staging this show. I can't even really call it a game because it isn't. Baseball and basketball have All Star games, but the NFL version is done. The NFC wins by thirty points, and J.J. Watts lines up as WR for the AFC for a couple plays. It's just stupid. Quote

Dimster28 Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 also if u watch interview, Russell WIlson love going to pro bowl, as he met all elite QBS like manning and bress. why would you serious people ruined young player from that wonderful experience??? Quote
