TJJackson
Who gets cut when Moch comes off suspension? Skuta? Whalen? an extra CB or S?I'm guessing Skuta is gone when Moch comes backI'll further guess that Faine goes when Cook returns :-)Final guess - if Muckelroy makes it through waivers - a big if, at that - he is re-signed when Cook is put on the "designated to return" list. They need more linebackers for special teams

I could see a WR cut or traded at some point.
HoosierCat
Per Reedy, the Bengals didn't pick anyone up off waivers today, so either they didn't make any claims or the guys they wanted went to teams in front of them. Here's the taxi squad:QB Zac RobinsonRB Daniel HerronRB Jourdan BrooksLB Emmanuel LamurLS Bryce DavisCB Chris Lewis-HarrisG Otis Hudsonone spot still openHaven't seen any word that Muck had been claimed. ArmyBengal
From what I recall reading, Muck wasn't eligible for the practice squad. I could be wrong, but I thought I saw that somewhere.Again, when Cook gets the 8 week IR designation, Hudson will come up.When Moch comes back, he could always go back down.Things are working about the way I thought they would with anything new.I just want to see our guys get healthy in this next week and couple days.Maualuga, Dunlap, Gresham, and at least one CB will help immensely. Question is are they both going to be active on game day.

Vincent Rey is a special teams captain, but maybe him. When Moch comes back I think he will be a pass rush specialist on 3rd downs, and I guess special teams. He has looked fast off the line, I just don't like him as a LB yet.I'm still confused about the 7 WR deal, that's why I figured a trade. Well unless they are not sure about any of the WRs yet. Is Whalen and Sanu going to be deactive on game day, I just dont get why go heavy on WR, I guess they have a plan.
ArmyBengal
Well they were saying that both Allen and Jones were both running drills pretty hard. Question is are they both going to be active on game day.I'm thinking it would just be more for depth. Hall, Clements, and Newman will be the top 3 CB's playing and no one else, even healthy will be changing that anytime soon.I'm still confused about the 7 WR deal, that's why I figured a trade. Well unless they are not sure about any of the WRs yet. Is Whalen and Sanu going to be deactive on game day, I just dont get why go heavy on WR, I guess they have a plan.Because they would have loved to put one of those guys on the practice squad to have handy in case one of the other 6 got hurt, but had they tried to get them to the practice squad, another team would have snatched them up. I'm sure it could be argued that there are better ways to handle a roster and you can't worry about things like that, but I don't blame them when considering how noncommital they have been with the WR corps to this point. If they work a trade, great, but we will just have to wait and see.
Sea Ray
There's no sense in trying to project roster moves 4 weeks down the road. That's an awful long time in the NFL and injuries will play a huge role in the decision

But since we don't have a clear number two. The old QB saying - If you have 2 or three QBs competing for a job, you have none - comes to mind. Keeping 7 leads me to believe they don't know what they have either. Worries me big time. I mean Tate is our number two. I wanted him cut last year since he provided almost zero production as a returner for most of the season.Too many question marks. I can't put my finger on this team yet. Monday will be very, very interesting. I hope we can be competitive.A win would be amazing. Baltimore favored by 6.5. Anyone take the Bengals with those points right now with all the questions? ct_bengal
I wud take the bengals moneyline, not that the bengals have been all that impressive, I just believe baltimore is going to be worse than people think. The bengals will push it close IMO and its worth it to take the spread...

volcom69
Yea in not so sure how I feel about the Ravens game either, maybe this game will tell us alittle about this team and the year. How is it that most of us had our hopes up, and now after preseason I'm just not so sure anymore. Anybody else wonder if Dalton will have a sophomore slump or if he just won't be as good as last year. They need a running game bad, and need a big year from this defense. Somebody other then AJ needs to step up and actually get open, so Andy can get rid of the ball fast.

How is it that most of us had our hopes up, and now after preseason I'm just not so sure anymore. I don't think that's any big mystery. Two of our biggest FAs were BJGE and Wharton. One is gone for the year and one we saw for a handful of plays before he got hurt. Our top pick in April? Hurt. Dunlap? Awesome potential, hurt again. Secondary a MASH unit. No. 2 WR? Still a question mark. Gresham? Hurt. Cook hurt and apparently gone for at least 8 games -- and oh, even with him they couldn't run the ball.Bottom line, I haven't seen more buzzkill packed in one preseason in a long time. ArmyBengal
The two biggest injuries for me are Gresham and Dunlap.I think Gresham will be ready to go and that will be huge because i'vesaid for quite some time that I wasn't as concerned about who our #2 WR was going to be because Gresham was going to get more than the lion's share of targets. Our #2 is going to more of a #3 as long as Gresham is healthy. In looking at the teams we face, we are going to need a pass rush and be able to put pressure on opposing QB's. You can say we were able to do that last year without much of Dunlap, but the teams in 2012 are quite different. Not only better quality teams, but better passing offenses. No Dunlap will concern me.The rushing game is probably going to be a struggle regardless of who is in there, so i'm not overly worried about getting more than the little I already thought we were going to get. After that, the CB spot is one guy shy of where I thought we were going to be as well. I figured Hall and Clements would be the starters and they are. Then I thought we would see more of Allen or Jones, but now we are looking at Newman. I figured Kirkpatrick would get his reps and move into a starting role later. We will just have to wait and see about that.

TJJackson
I didn't think this tiny item deserved its own thread - but we are well into Tuesday and Cook has not been put on the intends to return list (or whatever it is called)Is it possible his injury is not all that severe and they are expecting his recovery fairly soon, and ergo skipping putting him on the list? volcom69
Well Cook was placed on IR the 8 week one. They signed a blocking TE to the roster which is strange to me. Makes me wonder if they will do a lot of 3TE sets or something, more pounding the ball. Who knows alittle confused on the signing.
