cincyhokie
I've got to go with Sanu. Great value. Filled a huge need. Versitile player with alot of toughness. The best part is that we stuck it to the Ravens who would have surely taken him a few picks later. Dude used to be a safety. Enough said. A close second is the Thompson pick where we added value and increased our skill in the front 4. For once the Bengals saw a weakness in their lines and throughly addressed it. The Jones pick in the 5th was a solid one as well. If I had to pick a least favorite it would be Herron simply because he's not brining the needed speed threat that the Bengals need. All in all, great draft.

I believe that the Ravens and Steelers both had Decastro and Zeitler at 1-2 for Guards. We got them there too. I believe that the Steelers would have taken Zeitler if Decastro was taken by the Bengals. As far as the Browns go, I have no idea what they were thinking at that position. It's hard to imagine this offense not playing at a higher level this season.ZeitlerSanuJonesCharlesThat's a big talent upgrade.
Stripes
I think my favorite was either Sanu or Thompson. I was definitely thrilled about Iloka too. Sanu was just an awesome value grab and I think he is a perfect fit for everything we're trying to build offensively. I can't wait to see him in preseason to get an idea of just how realistic a possibility it is for him to start the season at #2 WR. Thompson was a surprising pick that seemed to represent the unique approach the Bengals appeared to take in this draft to stow need in favor of adhering to the identity they want to establish on defense. The interior defensive line should be fresh all game long and all year long barring injury, and the talent is absolutely loaded.

So they picked Weeden at 22.[We also stole Zeitler from them (the Ravens). Think what a bummer the draft would have been if the Steelers got Decastro and the Ravens got Zeitler...I saw a few mocks that had that very scenario. I fully expected Baltimore to try to trade over top of us when we dropped to 27.It will be interesting in the years to come to follow the progress of DeCastro and Courtney Upshaw. We had some of that with the Simpson pick in 2008 as DeSean Jackson began to find success. The bad part about this is it will be magnified even more since those two are in our division. Sea Ray
I'm thinking that the 2nd half of the Bengal preseason games are going to be fun to watch for a change. Usually the 2nd half of NFL preseason games are a real snooze but I'm looking forward to seeing these new guys on the football field. I know they won't look as shiny and bright as they do on paper but there's only so much you can judge on paper about a football player. You really have to see them in action; so don't turn off those Bengal games this summer at halftime!

Sure they got Trent but it cost them

derekshank
Devon Still. I think we'll look back on that pick similarly to the way we look at the Carlos Dunlap pick. Steal.
GapControl
my favorite pick is Zeitler. but i have to add here the most important pick may have been Orson Charles. membengal
Echo Devan Still. A ticket to a potential force in the defensive middle in round 2? Yes please.
ArmyBengal
My favorite pick was Zeitler. It showed the Bengals were truly concerned about getting first round talent for the interior of the o-line, giving further protection to Dalton. Both the run and pass game will be improved if Zeitler comes as advertised. GREAT PICK !!!However, the "best" pick in my opinion is a toss up between Still and Sanu. I just can't pick and think they will both have a large impact on both sides of the ball. Sanu is quick and versatile, with a toughness we haven't seen around here in a while. Comparisons to the type of demeanor Hines Ward brought puts a smile on my face. Still was a steal plain and simple. I don't know what the future holds for the interior of the d-line, but Still is certain to be a big part of it and I look forward to seeing him in there.Funny thing is, arguments for Charles, Jones, and Thompson could all be easily made as well.Nicely done Bengals !!! skyline
It's hard to pick, but I think I'm a fan of the two WR picks, because of what it allowed us to do.A lot of people wanted a big-time WR in rounds 1 or 2 (myself included), but I'm perfectly happy with the two guys that we got. AND, the fact that we were able to get them in rounds 3 and 5 means that we were able to pick up so many other great values in the other rounds (Still, Thompson, Charles, etc.). Walrus
I guess my favorite pick would be Still. I don't expect DPOY for him, but what I do expect is massively improved play from our DE and LB positions because of the infusion of talent on the interior.I really have to give the team props for a canny strategy for developing their whole team through a few key spots. Everyone "knows" the team has needs at RB and LB -- but just watch and see how improved those units look this year playing behind improved interior lines. By doubling down on the D line, in particular, the LBs will stay that much cleaner to be able to sweep in and make the big plays. I'm not sold on Maualuga, but I'm very optimistic that we will see a sudden renaissance in his play this season. The reason will be located about three yards in front of him. Similarly, our RBs should get a fresh pop running behind the revamped oline. I'm really excited about how the investment in these units will ripple out to the benefit of the rest of the team. BengalszoneBilly
I'm going with Kevin Zeitler. If the Bengals can open up a real running game by blowing up holes in the opposing DL, this team will be insanely competitive.
wpeldios
I think Devon Still will be an absolute stud in the long run. First round value who should not have been there. I liked a lot of picks, all but Herron really but Still takes the cake.
cincyhokie
The highlight reel of Still is stupid. Dude looks like he's playing with 12 year olds.
ArmyBengal
Yeah, i've been watching tape of Still lately and the guy is just a f*cking beastly no nonsense kind of disruptive force you want coming from the interior of your d-line. He makes a play and gives the mean mug, saying, i'm going to be here all day bitches !!! In the draft thread there is a you tube clip where they are playing Alabama and he busts through the o-line and absolutely plants Richardson on his back. Here's to hoping we get to see some of that this season against the Browns !!!Two words for you:BAD ASS !!! Another TE might be more important than another deep threat. Dalton is not all that accurate with the long ball. AJ helps out alot with his athletic abilities. Short, middle, deep. Whatever. Sanu, Charles, Shipley, Gresham. Run good routes, draw coverage to your side. It's more important in the WC than speed. AJ will be less double-teamed if we have better receivers regardless of their 40 times.
derekshank
Was looking at the pre-draft grades on NFL.com. Based on their grades:Kirkpatrick was the 20th overall player. Picked 17th. -3Zeitler was the 37th overall player. Picked 27th. -10Still was the 49th overall ranked player. Picked 53rd. +4Sanu was the 75th overall ranked player. Picked him 83rd. +8Thompson was the 44th overall ranked player. Picked him 93rd. +49Charles was the 81st overall ranked player. Picked him 116th. +35Prater was the 158th overall ranked player. Picked him 156th. -2Jones was the 100th overall ranked player. Picked him 166th. +66Iloka was the 108th overall ranked player. Picked him 167th. +59Herron was the 242nd overall ranked player. Picked him 191st. -51If the NFL.com grades have any value whatsoever:The best pick was Marvin Jones. Iloka, Thompson, and Charles get honorable mentions.Kirkpatrick, Zeitler, Still, Sanu, and Prater were all taken right around where they should have been.Herron was a bad pick.
