Yea, if we're going to get into the playoffs, we need to dominate the first half of our schedule and beat the Steelers and ravens atleast once!! Love to see another sweep of the division!! Could be possible, steelers are going to be a different team and the ravens are getting old on Def. But then when we play the teams in our division, no matter what the records are, it's always a dog fight!! All four teams come to play and knock each others teeth out! It would be bitter sweet to beat the Ravens in their house on Monday night football. It'll be Dalton and AJ's first time playing on Monday night Football!!

Agree with those last 5 games being a rough way to get things done.

at SD, Dallas, at Philly, at Pittsburgh, Baltimore.

If they want to make it to the playoffs, they are going to have to beat some quality opponents (something they didn't do last year). On the plus side of things, I could easily see a 5-2 or even 6-1 start to things. I also love where the bye week fell for them as well.

Open with 2 div games, close with 2 div games and a 2 div game streak at week 6 & 7. By week 7 we would have played 4 divisional games ...thats a pretty tough start.

The bye-week comes at a good time and is followed by two home games.....hope we can improve our form at PBS.

Tough 5 game finish - but 2 of those are at PBS, 2 are div games - and I don't think we should fear anybody.

More than that, the Bengals don't leave the state for five weeks.

week 5 - @ Cleveland

week 6 - Pitt

week 7 - bye

week 8 - Denver

week 9 - Giants

That's a tough stretch of games but you can't ask for better scheduling. Now all they have to do is the thing written on their spiffy new t-shirts: win.

With a BRUTAL 2nd half schedule, they can't afford to lose games they shouldn't........I'm thinking they need to be 6-1 going into their Bye week to make the Playoffs......Because a 4-5 finish (which is actually not bad with that schedule) would put them at 10 wins and in the Playoffs.

If we score in the draft however, that late season schedule might not look so bad....with the Rook's coming into their own by then.

I agree with the thought of it being better for the tougher part of the schedule being later in the year, giving the youngsters more time.

Them getting off to a fast start, which is always the theme, is going to be very important this particular season.

With the tougher schedules for both the Ravens and Steelers, 10 wins for the Bengals should get them back into the playoffs.

That would be very nice, but as I made mention of a couple months back, I think everyone has greater expectations for this team than usual.

With that, I don't think fans (I know I won't) will be happy if they make it to the playoffs again, only to be one and done.

Quite frankly, that would piss me off. Only because I think this team has the ability to do more that simply make it there.

Same here. I'm tired of the SSDY treadmill. Unfortunately, I don't think that the Bengals have done nearly enough this offseason to step off of it. It's going to come down to the draft class. We need it to be another 2005 (in terms of talent, obviously). If it turns out to be another 2004, we're screwed.

I see this schedule as being set up nicely for a few reasons.

#1. It puts the easy part of the schedule up front and allows the new and rookie players time to adjust.

#2. It gives them the chance to get to the playoffs in back to back seasons for the first time since forever.

#3. It puts them in a position where they are going to have to beat some top teams to get there.

It's a put up or shutup kind of situation and if they come out on the plus side of that, I don't see why they couldn't manage a playoff win.

You never know for sure, but I like where we sit in the draft and with the schedule.

Hopefully that translates to a playoff win this season !!!

Oh yeah, nice avatar there Combat !!!

:sure:
