ArmyBengal
Exactly, while she is certainly in the wrong here, if you were 17 and THAT teacher approached you about sex, what would have been the outcome ??Not even a moments hesitation, i'll tell you that. ArmyBengal
I was just talking about this last night at dinner and the last time this happened here locally, the radio station was playing a recording from the court room. The attorney asked the young, I think 16-17 year old boy, "what happened at his teachers home?" He said, "she asked me to take a shower with her." The attorney asked, "what happened when you got in the shower?" He said, "she placed my hands on her breasts." The attorney then asked him what he thought about that, and what do you think the young high school boy's repsonse was ??Wait for it....."IT WAS AWESOME !!" cincyhokie
I've got to interject here as I am a therapist in the MH field. There is definately a comic spin to this, no doubt. However, as trivial as this might seem, it is child abuse. Sexual abuse shows itself in different forms. I'd be shocked if this girl hadn't been abused in the past. It's not normal behavior and it's sad. If this were a teenage girl getting molested, there would be disgust about it. Either way, it's abuse. Rant over. ArmyBengal
Certainly is and why I was saying that she was in the wrong. I was just looking at it from the boys perspective and can't help but thinking he probably didn't feel abused. That's debateable I suppose, but agree that she is not right in any way, shape, or form...

I'm sure that it could be. Teenage boys also might be more likely to drink Bourbon given to them by their fathers at the age of 12. When they're dysfunctional alcoholics by 35, it's not so cool anymore. Anyway, you get my point.

Also, it is a proven fact that an adolescent's brain isn't fully developed at 17, or even 21 for that matter. At that age you don't know what end is up. Sure it'd be cool to bang your teacher because half of your thoughts are dictated (no pun intended) by your little guy. There is no good intent in this act. It's abuse plain and simple. Fufilling sexual desires with someone who doesn't know any better. And like I said, she was probably abused as a child as well. It's a cycle. Most 17 year olds would love to bang teacher cheerleaders, drive 100mph, and skip school all day. It doesn't mean it's healthy for them. I don't blame the kid. I don't think he's a bad kid. I don't think that the cheerleader is necessarily evil, either. The s**t's wrong, either way you look at it. Cincyhokie has completely bummed me out with all his reality.Sorry to be a dream crusher. It's hard for me to see what I do at work and not say anything. Alot of the guys have sexual abuse in their history (yes many were violated by women)and many of them become perpetrators to other women, kids, and it's often within their families. It's a terrible cycle. It's not benign no matter who's in what role.
COB
I get it. Cincyhokie has completely bummed me out with all his reality. It was a boy because it was a member of the football team:Nicole Howell, who was 26 at the time, was accused of having sex with a 16-year-old football player four or five times at her MainStrasse apartment.Correct me if I'm wrong but the only reason this is a crime is because the cheerleader was a teacher. If she was just a cheerleader this'd be perfectly legal because the age of consent in Kentucky is 16The age of consent in Kentucky is 16. Kentucky Revised Statutes Section 510.020 deems a person unable to consent if he or she is less than 16 years old.

This isn't the same crime with the same consequences if the sex of the participants were reversed, thus I feel they should be dealt with differently by the law. No jail time for the cheerleader; give her counseling and tell her she can't teach anymore. No filing as a sex offender
