jjakq27
On the news of Peyton Manning signing in Denver, let's take a look at the Bengals home schedule. If they aren't able to sell out 6 to all 8 of these games, then there's a serious problem. The obvious ones are the three divisional games, which usually do well, although a trade to bring RG3 to Cleveland would have sealed the deal on this one.AFC EastDallas and the Super Bowl Champion GiantsAFC WestBroncos (Manning) and Raiders (Carson's return)AFC SouthMiami-could this be Tebow's landing spot? Kazkal
Think tebow ends up a jaguar imo they'll give up the most for him because mustache even said he would have draftes tebow...as for the black outs I think still depends on how mike treats next month I think if they were go get M.bush Dreessen and some help on dline then played draft right or doing some thing agrresive like going and trading up to get richardson but you if they return to lame duck stratagy firat couple days of free agency doubt fans gonna in attendence until we game off from playoff berth:p
ArmyBengal
It's pretty sad that the thought process for why we may not see so many blackouts in 2012 is due to the opponents we face. If they were playing a schedule without so many high profile teams or Carson Palmer, I suspect the blackouts would be close to what we saw last season. Don't get me wrong, i'm hoping things improve this coming season in regards to fan support at the stadium, but if it doesn't, I won't be blaming the fans. I thought last year was very telling about what fans spending their hard earned money were wanting.

bengalsflow
Dallas, Giants, Broncos, stoolers, ravens should all be covered. Not sure about the rest.
HoosierCat
Obviously it's not out yet but the NFL said today the opener will be Giants/Cowboys. Since both those teams are supposed to visit PBS this year, I would say odds that the Bengals open the season away from PBS are good.If that happens, it would mean the Bengals open on the road for 7th time in the last 10 seasons... Sea Ray
I don't think the Bengals do well with the pressure of opening at home. It becomes a must win for them. My preference is to start with a "winnable" road game like last year
HoosierCat
Reportedly Denver has been told they will get the Sunday night game opening weekend, so yet another eventual visitor to PBS starts at home. Hensley speculates their opponent will be Pittsburgh, which would put them out of contention for Cincys opening day opponent./>http://espn.go.com/blog/afcnorth/post/_/id/44826/will-steelers-open-season-on-sunday-nightIf it's indeed an away opener, that would leave us with the possibility of being at:ClevelandBaltimoreJacksonvilleWashingtonSan DiegoKansas City

HoosierCat
I forgot Philadelphia as a possibility too.If I had to make a bet it would be Baltimore. It's opening weekend and the NFL is all about coming out with a bang. That would be the most compelling matchup for Cincy.
ArmyBengal
Seeing a young pro bowl QB in Dalton going up against RGIII in Washington wouldn't be a bad way to go either.Assuming the Colts take Luck #1 of course...
walzav29
I believe I read that yesterday. I honestly don't like the primetime games. I hate waiting after 1 pm, and we usually lose. I don't feel like looking it up, but I'm sure Marv has a losing record on Primetime. 2-4 I think
HoosierCat
I believe it's the preseason schedule, not the primetime schedule, coming out today.
HoosierCat
And here's the schedule of this year's meaningless games you have to buy tickets to anyhow if you're a season ticket holder because owners suck:Week 1: N.Y. JETS at Paul Brown Stadium, weekend of Aug. 9-13Thu., Aug. 16: at Atlanta, 8 p.m. (FOX)Week 3: GREEN BAY at Paul Brown Stadium, weekend of Aug. 23-27Week 4: at Indianapolis, Aug. 30 or 31/>http://www.bengals.com/news/article-1/Bengals-announce-preseason-schedule/953fb838-73cd-42a3-8804-c83bccab0a50Interesting that we draw GB for the traditional week 3 "tune up" game. Both teams will probably play their starters into the 3rd quarter, so we should get some idea where the Bengals stack up against top competition. Scottishbengal
And the 20th pre-season game against Indy in the last 21 years. Yawn.Perhaps it's just being on this side of the water but I struggle to get excited about pre-season.....can't wait for the regular season to kick-off but pre-season seems lacking in emotion .....apart from the dread of picking up injuries. HoosierCat
One of the fansided bloggers claims to have gotten hold of the 2012 schedule and the guys at stripehype have posted the whole thing. cHaD711Johnson
3 straight road games to start the season? I do like opening up with the Browns, though. Not sure I really like how this schedule is laid out. Hopefully, it's wrong.
ArmyBengal
Maybe i'm in the minority here, but I like the preseason. For the sole purpose of seeing the young guys get playing time and see how they do with their chance. I suppose this would probably not be the case if I were a season ticket holder and forced to buy preseason tickets. I usually make it a point to go to at least one preseason game. It's a good chance to take the family down for a game without it costing an arm and a leg as well. Thank you stub hub and ebay !!!I don't know what to think of that schedule. 3 road games to open the season.3 primetime games.I like the bye week at week 7 though. HoosierCat
My bet is that the schedule is bogus (the 3 road games to start the season seem a bit much) but if it were real I wouldn't be horrified. I think this would give them a very good chance of being at least 3-3 at the bye. @Browns, @Redskins and Dolphins are all very winnable games. The short week 11 would be rough but then they get 10 days before a west coast trip, which would be nice.8-5 or 9-4 headed into the last 3 weeks is at least conceivable. Tough, tough finish, though. If, of course, this is legit, which it probably isn't. But I suppose it passes the time.
