Kazkal Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Bengals hire two scoutsPosted by Mike Florio on March 23, 2012, 2:54 PM EDTGYI0062561256_crop_450x500-1 Getty ImagesOrdinarily, the hiring of two scouts by an NFL team isn’t newsworthy. But there’s nothing ordinary about the Bengals hiring two scouts.Currently, the staff directory on the team’s website reveals the presence of one scout and three “scouting consultants.” Now, Robert Livingston and Steven Radicevic have tripled the number of scouts. The Bengals have been notoriously short-staffed in scouting, which many believe has caused the Bengals in past years to select players who were regarded as higher-round talent but who slid for other reasons, possibly for off-field reasons. Then again, the absence of a full-blown, NFL quality scouting department hasn’t hurt the Bengals lately, with two playoff appearances in three years and a promising young team led by quarterback Andy Dalton and receiver A.J. Green. Quote

Stripes Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 and naturally, I doubt they'll make any real difference Quote
Kazkal Posted March 24, 2012 Author Report Posted March 24, 2012 Well I guess were really only adding once since our Current scout is retiring still it's improvement. Quote
Scottishbengal Posted March 24, 2012 Report Posted March 24, 2012 I'll take any help the coaching dept can get Quote

The Radicevic move is old news. Apparently he will be their west coast guy and will be based out in Cali. Lapham made reference to a young guy from William & Mary that they wanted to groom for Lippys position a few weeks back, and Livingston is a W&M product. I suspect he was the guy Dave referred to.We'll see how it all plays out but any additional resources are a good thing. Quote
